Easy and comfortable to use.

When traveling I lost mine just like this one. I had to run around to find a replacement but the only replacement I could find was unsatisfactory. When I returned home I was lucky enough to get this one on Amazon with very quick delivery. This cane is comfortable to use and very durable. I am pleased with this product.

Top-shelf brand, sturdy, lightweight, 300 pound rating, and a great price.

This is much easier to use than a crutch. Being new to canes (68 yrs old with recent knee surgery) I needed one quickly as I was too clumsy with a crutch. I could have used this cane months earlier but I was too pig-headed to admit it. This inexpensive adjustable cane not only fits the bill, but it also lets me figure out the correct length for my desired long-term, daily use, cut-to-length "dress-up" cane that I will eventually need. This cane, because of its adjustability, has a slight rattle to the shaft as I use it, but it is not noisy, it is very sturdy, and the grip is very comfortable. Now, I walk like House, but I'm pain-free and comfortable with it. My every-day cane will be a House Flame Cane, and I'll be hobbling in style! :-)

Great cane until the gel handle wears away

I'm having a hard time figuring out how many stars to award. I've had this cane for about three years. It is sturdy and still folds easily unlike other folding canes I've had that begin to stick over time. I've easily and quickly replaced the worn-out rubber tip a couple of times. I love the handle loop which allows me to safely hang it from the handle of my shopping cart so that it won't fall off. And, I can lean it against a wall and the gel handle prevents it from slipping and falling to the ground. I use my cane a lot, and this gel handle is the most comfortable I've ever owned. My hand isn't cramped and sore anymore. However -- as you can see from the photos, the gel handle wears away pretty quickly. I took these pictures a couple months ago, and at this point the gel is almost completely gone, and now the handle is covered in a mess of sticky residue. The cane itself looks like new but Drive doesn't sell a replacement handle and I see no way to remove the handle even if I could find a replacement. I purchased a cane handle cover that wraps around the handle and attaches with velcro. It works to extend the life of the cane, but it's thick and and my hands are small; consequently it makes the cane feel less stable. Nevertheless, I'm considering buying this same cane again if I can't find any other gel-handled cane with a replaceable handle. In case this is helpful -- I am 5' 4" and I have the cane set on the second-to-lowest setting. I think this cane may be too tall for anyone much shorter than 5' 3".

Comfortable and foldable simple cane but no Velcro or elastic

As a collector of canes over decades, this is my favorite. I recently bought one of those foldable standing canes but had difficulty walking in a rhythm that wouldn't end up with the big standing tip tripping me. This new cane with a straight tip doesn't trip you up when you get out of rhythm and the comfortable rubber handle keeps it from sliding when resting on a wall. It has a nice cord on the handle that is long enough that you can get your wrist though it while using it so that it doesn't fall if you lose your grip on the handle. It isn't quiet like a solid wood cane, but maybe that's the nature of the beast since you have 4 pieces of hollow metal hitting each other. The only downside I've seen is that it doesn't come with any kind of nice portable wrap or elastic that will keep it folded (you could use the cheap plastic bag that it came in but that's easily lost). What I did was buy a black Velcro Timex watch band for $9 that should do the job and wrap on the wrist loop when not in use.

Great but gel goop oozes out after 4 years

I like the cane and how it can be folded up. The gel handle is great. But after 4 years of sitting in the corner of my room, some sort of gooy stuff slowly leaks out of the handle. I washed it off, but after a few days it was goopy again. I am buying a new one.

Not really a “gel” handle

This is the third Drive cane that I have owned. I keep coming back to them because they are great. I’ve had to have three just because they fall or drop which beats them up a bit and I want the look of a new one again. Prior to this one I had a true gel handle on my glow-in-the-dark Drive cane. Those handles are very soft and grip forming. This is a softer handle then just being metal or wooden, but it is not “gel”. I’m a little disappointed in that and the fact that Drive felt the need to put three stickers on this cane. One came off easily, but two came off in lots of pieces. And they all have left a nasty residue of adhesive that I can’t figure out how to get off.

Lasted 2 months before cord snapped. Not returnable.

I got this cane for my daughter in June. She liked it a lot, for a couple months. She said it felt comfortable and sturdy. In August, the cord broke inside just walking with it. I expected this cane to last more than a couple months. I bought a different cane as I needed to get one right away that shipped ASAP. Figured I'd deal with the return on this one later, and even though I am still in the return window by about half a month, it says this cane isn't eligible for return. One star from me for lasting only a couple months after normal use, and not being return eligible.

Really great cane

Only thing negative to say about this cane is the plastic clip to hang cane when folded with arthritic hands it is very hard to use, solved it by making a small fabric bag to store the cane when traveling in the car.

being a 21 year old disabled university student, i wanted to have a nice looking cane and i found it with this cane! i love that it's foldable so i can put it away during lectures and the height options work perfectly for me. i do wish the grip had more gel in it so it was squishy, but it's still comfortable! highly recommend

Sturdy but hard to fold for me.

I'm 33 and I love this cane. BUT I do need the help of my husband to fold it and put it in my purse most times. That might be because I don't have a lot of strength or grip. I would buy this cane again. Great value.
