A UNIQUE CANE, WITH PROVENANCE...
Purchased for general support around house, garden and shops. As a sufferer of osteoarthritis, I wanted a cane which would provide firm support. This one has that in spades, with a wonderful grip and balance. I also wanted to convey a 'young at heart' image with a uniquely designed stick that projects modernism and colour. This has a WOW factor that you would not believe. It has huge visual appeal and I just can't put it down. What disappoints is the finish. The join between the handle and stem has surface damage and the design of those two components does not flow. The handle also looks a little worn. It gives the impression that this particular cane has been recycled in some way. This is a premium hand made item and given the provenance that accompanies it, make these faults really upsetting. On balance the pros outweigh the cons but either the maker or distributor need to up their game to avoid problems of this nature.

Beautiful Sturdy Cane
This cane is beautiful, its sturdy, has a beautiful color, I love the spiral design on the length and it has a nice satin finish. the handle is a bit large which is good because I have big hands as I am very tall (6ft). I am concerned it will be a little too tall for me however buying up a size is good because you can always go to a woodworker or carpenter and have the bottom trimmed a bit. It is quite a bit heavier than my previous cane but this is due to the use of the walnut hardwood which makes it much sturdier than my previous cane (from a different company) I'm not sure what people meant by bowing of the cane, I got the 40inch Walnut with the classic handle and there is no way this cane could bow, even under the weight of my heavy weight. If you're concerned about sturdiness walnut is the way to go it is VERY strong If there are any problems that come up I'll come and update the review but for now I'm VERY happy with this and look forward to being able to stand taller and be more secure in my walking!

Not as good as my previous Brazos sticks
I have several Brazos products and this one was disappointing when I unwrapped it. I thought about just sending it back. The grip was well attached but poorly finished. Unsightly gaps fore and aft at the grip/shaft union. They were uncomfortable on the fingers in use as well. I decided to go ahead and fix the cane myself as it was a nice piece of wood. Sanded out the gaps and smoothed the grip/shaft union all around. Stripped the factory finish from the entire cane and I'm now in the process of applying daily coats of tung oil to the cane. Looks very nice, feels very nice. Brazos is a good company and I'm sure they would have replaced this cane for me had I asked. Even though this particular example was less than satisfactory I would not hesitate to buy their products again and will undoubtedly do so. I'm a picky fellow and I enjoy woodcraft thus the path I took here. I won't slam Brazos as I did not give them the opportunity to resolve my dissatisfaction and my experience with them in the past assures me they would have unhesitating done so. They put out very nice sticks and canes for a wonderfully reasonable price. I remain a Brazos fan.

It’s strength and stability.
This is a fabulous walking cane from one of the best companies who sell these type of products and I’ll tell you why from the top.... so easy to navigate the site and find what you need. The choices seem endless and their affordable prices (even for this Veteran who has a limited income) left me wanting to order more than one at a time. As a prime member on Amazon the shipping was free. It came before the estimated time but I’m sure that will vary somewhat depending on variables. It’s a beautiful looking hand carved work of art in my opinion. It’s a very sturdy solid piece of wood and the ball at the top allows me to hold on even with my arthritis and hand tremors. It’s s just a wonderful product and thank you Brazos for always striving for perfection. You always hit your mark.

Twisted look is too much of a fake wood look.
Didn’t really care for the white of the wood work where it was sanded to give the twisted look showing off more than the rest of cane. It gave it a plastic look. So I did some sanding to remove the varnish, did a little staining, revarnish, changed the rubber tip, installed the marine corps emblem. Now it Ia a great walking cane.

It's good weigh and strong
I have been looking for a Hickory cane for a couple of years now. This particular one use to sell for $48.00 on most sights and when I saw it go to $32.00 I jumped on it. It's good weigh and strong. In other words it fits the old saying "walk softly and carry a big stick". I have an extremely bad spine so to keep from resorting to a brace or a wheel chair this cane helps me stand straight. I use it all the time. Even at the gym. So if you are looking for a good strong cane and don't mind a little weight it's great, you will get use to the weight in no time. I have a lot of people stopping me all the time to see where I bought it. I purchased a "BUBBA STIK " cane a few years ago and it worked great and this cane out weights it. So if you are in a situation where you need some defense this is a great way to put the hurt on someone. Remember "practice make perfect" you could very easily put the hurt on someone also it will make someone think twice before trying to take advantage of you.

A very decent (and stylish) walking cane
After falling twice on a recent trip to Paris, I purchased a walking cane there. It was good but when I saw this on Amazon I thought this one would be a little sturdier, which it is. I paid about $20 for one at a pharmacy in Paris. The Brazos website charges over $80 here and Amazon sells it for around 50. Through this one is sturdier, the Parisian one (Fayet) has a much nicer finish. I’m glad to have a choice when I go out. I would definitely recommend this product. *** This review is for the oak spiral cane. I also purchased a bent root cane which is OK, but definitely not as good. Amazon’s infinite wisdom brings this review up for all Brazos products. Not really a good idea

EXCELLENT PRODUCT at a GOOD PRICE
With my age catching up to me, this cane is helpful. Not only is the shaft a sturdy hardwood, but the derby handle makes it ideal for self-defense (if it doesn't pull off). The pointed end of the handle is more effective for striking than just the shaft, and the hooked end for catching an assailant's leg behind the knee or elsewhere., to trip or throw the attacker off balance. There are videos on line and using a cane for protection. There are more ways than just using it as a bat!

Great cane.
I've used mine for three years now. I've received so many compliments from others. Sturdy and durable.

... cane wasn't really what I thought it would look like. I guess I kinda thought it looked more ...
This cane wasn't really what I thought it would look like. I guess I kinda thought it looked more twisty in the picture. But after a while it has grown on me. And I see the twisted look when looking down the cane not straight at it. This is a great looking and very sturdy cane. Can fully support me. 240lbs

Would definitely recommend
I ordered the hickory version. It is very lightweight, strong and sturdy. Supports my 260 lb frame nicely. I wrapped the handle with cloth tape to keep my hand from slipping (sweaty palms).

Good structure,bad finish.
The cane is nice but the final coating was poorly applied. There is a thin smooth line of coating on the handle but the rest is just bare, sanded wood. This is too bad because the cane in its self is very comfortable. It was just poorly quality controlled.
