Worked great for my purpose

Had to replace some decorative nails on the corners of a picture frame and these matched perfectly and now my frame looks great!!

Use hammer and nail to prep hole

My chair frame was so hard, I messed up (bent) 4 tacks, very frustrating. Then I got an idea: I picked up a sharp nail and hammer, make deep enough dent by hammering the nail, remove the nail, then hammer in the tack. Perfect!

A nail is a nail? Recommended

A nail is a nail. Not quite. Some of us use these kinds of nails for various decorating purposes. This batch has been used to hang posters (into thick plaster). Where many have failed, these succeeded. Sharp points and thin shanks allowed nails to be hammered in without breaking or cracking the plaster and without bending the decorative head. Nice product---recommended for chair repair also.

They looked great!

I used these on a bellow I made and they look great. I needed to predrill the holes because I used oak and they were a little soft for such a hard wood .

The color and size

I love these tacks. They're large, exactly what I was hoping for. They are heavy and have substantial heavy tacks at the back, not flimsy. The finish is beautifully done. I plan on buying more.

Beware of 'polished' silver

If you need to order more than one box of 36 nails, be prepared for the possibility that no two boxes of 'polished' nickel will be alike. We ended up having to order 14 boxes just to find 3 in which the shade of polish was all the same. Other than that, using a nail guide is very helpful and significantly reduces the chances of the nail going crooked and having to be removed.

The best way I found to avoid this was to hold ...

These upholstery pins are very cute when adding an extra touch to upholstery. The problem is that you need to be very careful when installing these as the metal is very flimsy and I had bent a lot of them while trying to hammer them into the wood. The best way I found to avoid this was to hold the pin with needle nose pliers and hammer in as much as possible before removing the pliers and then finishing hammering in the pin.
