Good, But Could Be Better
I purchased these for an office project to punch through laminated paper, which they did well, and attach 5/32" nickel eyelets (I have yet to try the 1/4"). These work okay, but you kinda have to precariously balance the eyelets on the tool heads, so they don't sit very securely, which can sometimes make it hard to get them perfectly even. This tool comes with a lot of little accessories, which is great because it increases versatility, but a little plastic container or something to keep them in would've been a nice touch. I'm not a fake profile, nor have I been compensated for any reviews...in fact, the reason I take the time to review purchases when I can is due to the fact that I find other honest reviews helpful and am tired of all the fake reviews that have polluted this site. If you find my review helpful, please take the time to rate it as such, not because I'll get anything out of it but so that others can see true reviews. Thanks and Happy Shopping!

Perfect for punching small holes!
Exactly what I needed. After shopping around for ever and ever and getting all sorts of oddly shaped grommets, I found this. Here's what I use it for: I purchased some cell phone wallet cases that did not have the wrist straps that I like. Others have the wrist straps in the wrong place. I like 'em at the bottom, where I can have it around my wrist and use my phone at the same time. These are the perfect size. The tool itself punched the hole through the leather (faux) really easily. There are two directions for the hole punch; one for small holes (really small, like belt-buckle small) and larger holes (for the slightly larger eyelets.) Basically with the larger ones you just kinda punch around to make a bigger hole. The eyelets themselves are small, thin, kinda cheap, but I don't anticipate them not holding up to the job. Once they're applied, they kinda just clasp on and lie low, if you know what I mean. The first one I did was a little awkward looking with the eyelets not really fitting in together perfectly, but still, did the trick.

Works !
The Dritz 574 eyelet pliers works as designed. Nothing bad to say. I could have bought less expensive ones , but doubt the lesser ones would compare to the quality built into the Dritz . I would also like to mention the attachments that came with the pliers was well thought out. Thanks Dritz for the very nice pliers ! P.S. the instructions were easy to read and follow.

Excellent pliers for setting eyelets.
I picked these up set eyelets for a holiday gift tag project my daughter and I did this fall. We ended up making 400 gift tags, and each one got its eyelets set with this plier. It worked great; however, I'd give the following recommendations: 1) Put the "show" side of the eyelet (not the washer) on the flat side of the plier. 2) Crimp down just hard enough to keep the eyelet from falling out of the pliers, and then wiggle it (if you have to) to make sure the eyelet is perfectly flat. If it's at an angle, you'll have a mere 60% chance of it turning out properly. Anyway, these worked perfectly for us. And they're very strong too. These should last through many years of projects.

Okay
It worked fine. I felt like sometimes the hole did not get cut all the way around and I'd have to tug or cut the end off to get it to come out. I also found the tool you use to remove the pieces a bit hard to use. Sometimes it was a struggle to get the pieces out.

Grommet insertion made easy
It took a lot of tutorials to show to actually use this. The one on this product page makes it look much easier than it is. For some reason I was unable to punch a hole using the larger piece and had to use scissors to begin this process. Works great for actual grommet insertion though! Very nice clean results!

Not a bad investment.
I haven't had any issues with this set. The pliers work fine and the eyelets work fine also. One thing I didn't know before ordering them is the pliers punch through your fabric and THEN put the eyelet on, which is handy so you don't have to cut a hole that may be too big. The only thing I don't like is that the small-size eyelets come out of the fabric relatively easily since they're not double-sided. Otherwise, I'm happy to have this in my craft box. It's certainly easier to use than a set with an anvil and hammer.

Manufacturing defect sabotages an otherwise good product
This tool worked wonderfully for 5/32" eyelets. For my project, I needed 1/4" eyelets and I purchased two-part eyelets in that size. All my practice attempts were disasters. The resulting eyelets were deformed except for one which had split. What the heck? Examining the eyelet holder part (the lime green one), I discovered that it was a tiny bit too large to hold the eyelet properly (yes, I measured it). The eyelet tilted because the center on the holder was too big. The deformed eyelets suddenly made sense. The split one was result from the one instance that I carefully balanced the eyelet on the holder. As I mentioned, the 5/32" eyelets came out perfectly because the eyelet holder was sized properly. If only the tool was properly sized for 1/4" eyelets. *sigh* This is clearly a manufacturing defect. I'm going to contact Dritz and let them know. Will they respond with a generic "thanks for your interest" email? We will see!

Sadly the first time I used the blue attachment it broke.
Other than the blue attachment breaking, I am fairly happy with the pliers. They do the job nicely and are easy to use, no sore hands.
