A few issues.
So despite the mixed reviews, this is the one my kid wanted. I too, hated the wool yarn, so I went and got floss. Here’s my numbers if you want to use them: 817, 350,816, 742,518,3761,3753,741,721,744,453,3,535,648,3799+844, Ecru. Happy stitching! Edit: updated with a picture. I think I ended up changing some of the face colors. I think I used 3 and 4 in the greys. It’s a lot of color changes close up, but far away it works great. Also, this is the second one of these I’ve done- it’s better to needlepoint the name in than go over it on top of the stitches. There’s a bunch of generators online you can enter your name info and it will give you the pattern for the letters. It’s easier this way IMO. This one looks much nicer than my other one.

Wonderful needlepoint kits
I love these needlepoint stocking kits. My family love to see all their stockings hanging on the fireplace.

I am happy with my stocking
I finished this stocking kit today. I had plenty of yarn and didn't mind that the white was a floss instead of a yarn. I think the white color really stands out because of it. The directions were easy to follow. Sometimes it was hard to tell the difference between the colors used on the netting. So, I would get a bright light and magnifying glass and would put a black dot (with ultra fine sharpie) on one of colors on the net to distinguish it from the others right next to it. Then, when I was doing the needlepoint while watching TV, I could more easily tell the difference between the colors on the net. This is why I took off one star. Otherwise I am happy with this kit and how it turned out. I just ordered a different Dimensions stocking kit today to work on next.

Mesh could be printed clearer
I’ve done a dozen stocking kits. Why are the colors on mesh so hard to see? I could stitch for hours if I could see the colors on mesh. In this kit why are we blending different threads and floss?

Not What I Was Expecting, but Adorable!!
This is not totally what I was expecting when I purchased it, but I loved it anyways! I usually do Cross Stitch, but when my sister said she loved this design, I grabbed it, not realizing it was needlepoint! For a beginner needlepointer, I found this kit really easy to follow and the design is absolutely adorable! While it is a bit strange for me to use 12 threads at a time or wool thread, I found this kit to be really quick and easy to complete. The penguins are precious and the snowflake pattern behind is very easy to do. It took a few tries to get the snowflake white design to look perfect, but it came out great in the end! I will definitely be doing more needlepoint in the future, and I've been keeping my eye out for more patterns like this!

I really tried to love this...
..but I had too many problems with it. I did not care for the yarn that was included with the kit, so the first thing I did was to replace it with embroidery floss. I am using all six strands in working it. This wasn't a big deal. However, I didn't care for some of the color choices...and I managed to match every color almost perfectly, keeping with the original scheme. Eventually, I changed the color scheme. I have been working on it for nearly a month, putting in at least an hour a day, but sometimes three or four hours. Today, I took a good look at it...I don't like it. I just don't like it. I don't think it's coming out well at all. There are way too many colors involved in the baby penguin's face, for starters. I also found the felt provided for the back of the stocking to be flimsy and stretchy. It went in the garbage and I replaced it with blue crushed velvet. Today, I ordered a different kit. I hope I like it better!

Easy enough for someone with no needlepoint experience.
This was my first needlepoint and the directions were easy to follow. It turned out super cute for my daughter's Christmas stocking. I have done small cross stitch projects in the past and I was pleasantly surprised how quickly this came together. Don't get me wrong, it does take a long time and I wouldn't expect to finish it a week before Christmas, but it is totally worth the effort. The only part I didn't like is the felt backing. I chose to use some quilted fabric from the craft store because felt just seemed like a cheap finish after all that effort. With that said, I still give it five stars because it turned out great and I will be purchasing another dimensions stocking to make for my second daughter.
