Fun!

This was my first paint by number kit. I bought this because I was interested in trying a new project. The product is good and comes with everything you need to complete it. The info sheet it comes with has all the mixing combinations for you. I didn't realize how many colors would have to be mixed but that isn't a huge deal. Be prepared for this to take a lot of time. There are a lot of REALLY tiny spaces to complete. I had to go over certain numbers multiple times as the paint color was too thin to hide the number. If you really take your time, the picture does turn out really well. When working on a mixed color, try and get all of that number done in one sitting so you do not have to try and match the color again. I would recommend this to people new to paint by number as well as experienced. However, if you are a rookie, be prepared for a little bit more tedious work.

Gorgeous, vivid, challenging

We have done many paint by numbers this year. This one is super vivid, requires a slightly higher skill level as mixing paint is part of it (but that’s a fun bonus if you’re already well-practiced with the simpler ones!)

A fun way to pass time

This painting was relaxing but not easy. It comes with a cardboard (which is the canvas) and also paints and brushes. There is a guide to help with the places that have no number. The finished piece seems not quite finished if you follow exactly what the canvas and guide say, but this leaves opportunity for one to make it their own. As you can see I haven’t done that yet. It’s thin cardboard, not sheer at all but if you like nature paintings it’s a good one to do anyway.

fun, but needs improvement

It's so annoying how they don't label the number 1. They claim it is so the number won't show through, but so many of the colors are transparent enough that the numbers show through so the logic is totally off! It's really annoying because you can't just paint all the blank spaces white; you have to tediously check the paper key to make sure it's not another color or letter of paint. I'd say a solid 50% of the blank spaces are actually a color and not white, so it becomes a complete pain! It gets so confusing to find all the right spots that I have to start painting the paper each time I fill a spot on the canvas. Not ideal! I still give 4 stars because most of the paint colors are decent quality, most of the canvas is easy enough to paint.

Challenging painting

I have painted 12 previous paint-by-number paintings. None required mixing 2 colors to make 1 color. I didn’t even know there were paintings that required mixing. If you are doing a paint-by-number painting for the first time... I DO NOT recommend this one. I do like this “cardboard”, harder material versus the canvas-type material I have painted on. Paint quality is fine. However, despite not doing it... I do recommend separate “containers” to mix colors in. If you mix the colors straight in the tiny “cups”, different colors will be visible in each cup. Some numbers are hard to see, but, other than not showing “1”, the numbers to paint are nicely visible. I have had done many paintings — and have experience. What you see in the photo does come out very similar, if painted and mixed correctly. I am doing another DIMENSIONS painting... also requiring mixing colors to achieve 1 color. The one I am currently working on is coming out very nicely. In summary... mixing colors is this painting is difficult, and, if inexperienced with paint by numbers... choose one that is only one number per color to paint. However.... if done well, it will come out as shown. See my finished painting in the picture attached. Comments and questions are welcome. ????

Be Prepared to Mix Your Own Colors

Nowhere does this set inform the consumer before purchase that we must mix our own paint colors. If I wanted to do that, I wouldn't have purchased a paint-by-number kit. Why aren't all the needed colors included? Half of the colors needed to complete this picture must be mixed by hand. No empty containers are supplied, so what are we supposed to mix them in so they'll keep from drying out? How much of each color are we supposed to mix without running out of each primary color? The included brush is decent enough. The picture is printed on stiff cardboard, which is fine. But many of the areas to paint don't have numbers, so you have to refer to the instruction sheet for that (if you're lucky enough to receive one in the box). The instruction sheet is the size of the cardboard, yet it has room enough for the numbers, so it makes no sense why the cardboard doesn't have them. If I wanted to stress myself out by mixing my own colors, scour my home for little containers with lids in which to keep the mixed paints, and trying to figure out where half the colors are supposed to go, I would have painted something else. Isn't the purpose of a paint-by-numbers kit to make things easy and relaxing? If this is the way of all paint-by-numbers kits, this will be my last.

Not the best not the worst

Paint is smooth and the paintbrush works for smaller and larger areas. The only major con is that not everything is labeled. That's understandable for smaller areas but for larger areas that's unacceptable especially since in this kit you have to mix the colors yourself. So if you dont realize that a mixed color is used on an unmarked area the color might not match when you remix it. Its also a bit frustrating comparing back and forth to the diagram and actual painting to check for missed spots.Its a smaller canvas than most but that is in the description. Would not buy another of this specific brand others are easier to paint even while being more complicated. Not sure if im going to finish but this is as far as I got

Lovely scenery.

This project came out lovely which is added to my collection of the dimensions paint works. The brush wasn't great as usual but I had some extra liner brush on hand that I had brought at the local craft store. Enjoyed this one and it looks just the same on the cover of the box.

It’s a scam.

I would give it -5 stars if I could. It’s a scam. It is not on an artist board as described and it comes with a home made printed description page. A new levels of scamming people. Avoid.

Misleading information

I was highly disappointed because it was advertised as being on a board and mine came on canvas which I don’t paint on. This PBN on canvas was printed like a two yr old could do. I always check to see if it’s board or canvas too. Maybe it was just the seller trying to cheap out on an order.
