First off -- yes and yes. It will hold full-size drill and can definitely be used left-handed (see pictures). *Quality/construction* Well made, material is strong and durable, good stitching, nice build quality. *Functionality* Once used you will wonder how you ever lived without it. This should be considered required equipment if you have a driver/drill, even if you are just an occasional handyman. Easily holds driver/drill, strap can be snapped to secure driver in holster or velcro'd out of the way for quick in/out access. I've used it with both small size electric screwdrivers, medium drill/driver/impact, as well as full-size drill. Holds all just fine. For full-size drill, it can be strapped in, but it is a tight fit, it may be tool dependent. For the smaller drivers, no problem strapping it in. (See pictures) *Utility* Not bad, but could be better. The side 'pockets' are simple and effective, but could be improved to hold a wider variety and/or an actual dedicated pocket included (similar to what you find on the full-size holster). It can hold bits/nut drivers, a screwdriver and/or a pencil. Good enough for most small jobs. Two of the 'pockets' are closed bottom, two are open. (See pictures) *Left-Handed* Yes - works just fine with battery back as you'd expect. Angle of draw, hang, etc. are all as you'd expect and entirely suitable for left handed. Could barely strap in full-size drill when oriented for left handed draw, but other (non-full-size) strapped and snapped in just fine. (See pictures) *Conclusion* If you are a casual handyman, like I am -- using tools a few weekends a month, then this is a great general-purpose holster that will secure your small- and mid-size drill/driver/impact tools securely and with ease, while still being able to hold your full-size tools from time to time. If you are a contractor that will be using this daily for a full-size driver, I recommend that you go with the full-size holster.
