He loved it!
Bought this for my boyfriend who loves cherries but pitting was hard on his hands. This was a GAME CHANGER! Easy to put together and take apart to clean.

Great Tool
I have trees in my yard that bear small (~1 inch in diameter) plums and every year I struggle to crush and pit them (I make wine from them). I bought this as an experiment and it's about the most efficient way I've found to remove the pits from my plums. It's definitely better than doing them by hand with a knife and faster than crushing the fruit first and then removing the pits from the meat. I was a little surprised to find that it was kind of messy, although I probably should have expected that. There were fruit guts in an area of about 18 inches around the machine when I was done, including my clothing. I can't ding the machine for that because this is an inherently messy task. I mention it only so that potential users are prepared. :-) It didn't work well with the pits from some of the larger fruit (1-1/4" in diameter or so) - the pits got stuck in the hole that they are pushed though and I had to stop and either punch them through from the backside or pry them out to remove the obstruction and continue with the pitting. That didn't happen very often and was not a huge nuisance. The machine does have lots of nooks and crannies that are difficult to get clean, and it seemed like every time I cleaned one place I saw another that had fruit guts on it. It was also difficult to ensure that all the residue was rinsed out since the machine can't easily be disassembled once it's been used. Overall I have to say it's a big improvement over the way I was doing the pitting and it does work for 99% of the fruit I have, so I give it 5 stars with one deducted for being hard to clean.

Cheapest Fastest Cherry Pitter
I dont like the handheld ones, a lot of hand strain and you have to set it down to de-stem the cherries anyways. This one you can just destem them, load them in the hopper then whack away. The cherries do not always roll themselves into the depitter section so sometimes you have to give them a nudge, they do have a high chance of rolling out when you whack 'em. I saw some burs on the inside edges of the pin. So I filed down the inside edges of the cutting part of the pin with a Dremel. It's slightly sharper now. Don't sharpen the outside edges, you still want the pin to cradle the cherry pit. It also decreases the splatter when you whack it. If you accidentally assemble the hopper onto the base before you insert the pin (like I did, whoops!). The assembly will not come apart after that. Instead, you can take the c clip off the suction lever, slide out the lever, then the bottom falls out so you can insert the pin, then reassemble. I would recommend this one over all the other options unless you want something industrial and more automatic.

Loved this!
I pitted about 10 pounds of cherries in about an hour when I first used this. As I got the hang of it, it was much smoother and faster. It was also much sturdier. The last cherry pitter I bought broke upon first use.

Not useful for smaller sour cherries
Not useful for the smaller sour cherries as they fall through the hole with the the pit… would probably work great for the larger sweet cherries

Works great
I have a single litter, but during pie cherry season I can go through gallons of cherries in a day. One at a time got to be old. I ordered this hoping it would make it easier. This is great! I ran through 20 pounds of cherries before I knew what happened! I’m so pleased. I haven’t encountered any missed pits, but occasionally One would get stuck in the machinery. But, it happened infrequently and the speed and ease of using this totally outweighed any annoyance with a stuck pit in the works. I definitely recommend it. I’ve also used it for the occasional bag of sweet cherries for eating out of hand. Oh, and it’s fun to use!

Misses pits on smaller cherries
Really like. I have thousands of cherries to process and this worked 95% to my satisfaction. Some cherries were a bit too ripe and some too small and the cherry putts were a miss but I’d say 99% worked perfect. Better than pitting individuals like I had beef in the past. Yes I recommend for high volume. I haven’t tried it on large store bought cherries yet just the small sour cherries.

Victorio Strumento Professionale di Rimozione Nocciolo Dalla Ciliegia con Ventose Bianco
Snocciolatore piccolo e compatto.
