Works great
Easy to use if you just follow the directions ????

I works, but you have to keep an eye on not allowing chamber water to boil/evaporate away.
Its effectiveness surprised me. It would make a great exhibit for teaching thermodynamics, the change in state of water between vapor, liquid, and ice, and how a siphon works with gravity. Its relatively sturdy metal underside allows it to be used in burning heat (at least by using a gas stove) or presumably using an induction stove top (which I have not yet attempted). However, I wish two or three glass marbles would have been included to put in the bottom of the two water-evaporating chambers.

RELIABLE! As long as you have a heat source, this basic distiller design will not let you down.
We have previously owned two different plug-in distillers — including a high-end $400 one — and both ended up in a landfill due to different electrical problems after about a year. (Trust me when I say post-sale service on these units is a very un-funny joke.) I finally got smart and went with this rather simple “basic kitchen science” set up. Yes it is a bit clunky but it absolutely works and I expect it to do so forever. A couple of tips from our experience; 1. Expect it to be a real slow process. Basically sitting over a natural gas burner on high it takes about an hour to initially heat the full boiler bowl (bottom bowl) and then it starts making distilled water (in the middle bowl). Then it makes about one quart (~1L) per hour! We need about 3-gallons (~12 liters) per month so we find it best to make it a once per month 12-hour long process. We top off the boiler water every three hours from the top (condenser) bowl so it doesn’t boil dry (very important). We drain off the condensate every 3-hours. It is important to have a container(s) available that can easily hold near-boiling temperature condensate (~200°F/90+°C). This is a great backup to buying distilled water at the store if they are out and/or in an emergency or (maybe) to save money.

Exceeds expectations
My expectations weren't terribly high due to the flood of cheaply made goods on the market. (I recently threw away my electric countertop distiller after it stopped working after only two months - and the water wasn't satisfactory, anyway, with a faint rusty tint to it.) I was therefore pleasantly surprised to receive this apparently solidly made, well and simply designed stovetop distiller. The fit and finish is good. There is a user learning curve, as one cannot see the water boiling or the water level in the bottom pot, and must learn through trial and error how fast to set the boil and for how long. There was a complaint in another review about the bottom delaminating, but it appears to me that would happen only if it were allowed to boil dry. I ordered glass marbles to place in the bottom of the pot so that I can tell by listening to them rattle how fast the boil is and, if the rattling stops, that the water needs replenished. I was able to get about a half gallon of distilled water in about 2 and a half hours of slow boiling. I didn't carefully time it the first time so will edit this in future. The process added warmth and humidity to the kitchen, a plus in winter but perhaps not so much in summer. It is good to know that I can have distilled water when it isn't available in the store and the pots can also be used as an excellent large double boiler. I found it very easy to clean as the mineral residue came right off after a brief soak with a vinegar solution. All in all, I am very pleased with it and feel that I received good value for the money and a piece of equipment that will be useful for years to come.

Gets the job done. Takes a while. Better watch out for carbon monoxide.
It can steam up the house and add a lot of CO1 to the air, if the house isn't well ventilated and you use it to make more than one gallon at a time. Keep a window or two cracked and have a CO1 alarm somewhere. It's very durable and I use it a lot.

Good product
It's kind of a pain and it puts a lot of humidity in the air but I really really like the product in general I have health issues and if I can't go into town this sure does come in handy definitely everything I wanted and more worth the money

bulky, but it works
I bought this because of the shortage of distilled water during covid. It is a pain to know which pan goes where. So I ended up numbering them with a marker. If you have hardwater it will leave a residue. It does work. But I ended up buying an electric one for convience it is quicker.

Nice quality unit
I am happy with the unit, it just takes a little long to make any distilled water. I wanted this type so it can be used even if we do not have power. So far I have used it on my stove top. My only complaint is, I have my stove top running all day every day to get 2 batches of water per day. I was hoping to make more in a shorter time frame, so we could stop buying bottled water. But this unit could not keep up with my household needs. I need to be home or awake while it’s running, so I can only make so much water a day. I could be doing something wrong, or doing something different for better results, I’m really not sure. I followed the instructions, which are well written and easy to follow. Other reviews state that their unit became warped and no longer works. The directions clearly state not to allow the unit to run dry of water or it will become warped and no longer work. Seems an easy enough rule to stick to. I plan to purchase another unit that plugs into a wall, to hopefully keep up with my household water needs.

Durable and reliable in it's simplicity
Simple, easy to use, no extra filters or parts to cause problems... just need a heat source like camp fire, stove, BBQ etc and water. Bottom pot can be used as a stock or soup pot.

The distiller is great, but it took 2 months to get delivered properly
This distiller is exactly what I was looking for. It can be used over a stovetop, camp stove, or fire if needed in emergency situations to purify water. It's a very study stainless steel construction and seems to be good quality manufacturing. I would recommend this product, however I was sent 2 incorrect items before receiving this one. I had to return both the original AND it's first replacement because they sent the wrong item. Then on my 3rd order, a software malfunction caused the item to not even ship at all. I had to call customer service and demand the item be shipped or my money back. The distiller finally showed up correctly. Things are better now, but not very happy with the overall situation. Waste my time and don't get anything in return. Nice business model.

Does what it’s supposed to do
It’s fairly simple to use and does what it’s supposed to do, haven’t tried it on the BBQ yet but don’t see why it wouldn’t work, it’s stainless steel after all. I would be careful in trying so as the silicone tub might end up a bit melted or burn if you aren’t careful and let it get to close to the grill. I would also be mindful of the heat and how much water you have left as you don’t want to burn/scorch the bottom the stainless steel. As someone who has done so while camping, it’s never fun. In all honesty though, I don’t have much of an issue with using it. Just remember to take care of it so it can take care of you. Treat your gear right and it will do the same in return, you know what I mean? Anyway definitely recommend to anyone who needs it.

Clean water without chemicals, heavy metals and other toxins
Love it. Very sturdy and it works well. Dow’s the trick! Lots of toxin-free drinking/cooking water!
