Good Quality, Mediocre Design
I've been through a lot of over-the-feeder squirrel baffles over the years, and . . . none of them were very good. This one's basically the same as the rest. Whether shallow or deep-dished like this one, clear or opaque, they almost all have the same major weakness -- it's easy for a squirrel to stand on top of the thing. Casually, in fact. From there, the squirrel plans its next move. It makes things unnecessarily easy. There's no reason for a baffle like this to have a flat center. Yes, if the slope continued to the top, the baffle would be taller, and you'd need more room between the feeder and its support, but the thing would work better. I've added little plastic cones to the tops of these things, and they immediately work a dozen times better. Not sure why manufacturers haven't caught on to this. The second major problem with the flattened-dome shape is that it's practically built for catching the wind. If there's never any wind where your feeder is, fine, but otherwise these are occasionally gonna cause problems. Again, making the baffle more cone-shaped reduces its wind-driven antics, so I recommend giving it a shot. Otherwise, reasonable price, good manufacturing quality, wide enough to discourage some squirrels, etc.

Works for the Squirrel
We've been at "war" with our Squirrels this year. Hence the slinkys and the new baffle. They have been "assisted" by a juvenile raccoon in raiding our feeders. We have had this up for about two weeks and it seems to be keeping the Squirrels at bay. They have relegated themselves to grabbing up the seeds pushed off to the ground by the birds. The juvenile raccoon did make a successful climb over once, but evidently the baffle aggravated it so much it hasn't been back for the last few days. Fingers crossed this continues to work!!!

Using for a Rain Cover
*Anyone looking for a squirrel baffle to put on a shepard hook pole? Most shepard hooks have a side bar at the base that you step on to push it into the ground. That's how mine are. Look for the kind of baffle that has a clamp that attaches to the pole and a separate circular/cone shape with a slit in it to place the baffle over the clamp. Search on here for Woodlink Wrap Around Squirrel Baffle. I've had one up for 14 years and not ONE squirrel has gotten around it!!! The trick is to wrap electrical tape around the pole just below the clamp so it can't slide down. I bought this to use as a cover over a tray feeder filled with suet pellets. Usually, if these pellets get rained on, they disintegrate. They're not exactly cheap. I thought this would be ideal to try to keep them dry. Its much larger than I thought it would be. In fact, the size is perfect for the tray. Whatever material its made out of, its really solid and feels durable. Not terribly heavy. It was easy to assemble (instructions included) and I had it together and out there in about 5 minutes. The birds didn't seem bothered by this cover. The cardinals and jays took a little longer to figure out how to land under it, but they had it mastered quick. The birds hang out on the tray a bit more and maybe it's because they feel sheltered and safe under there. Cover also blends in with the natural surroundings. The true test will be to see how well this works for Hurricane Sally. I dont expect the pellets to stay 100% dry as we're supposed to get on and off rain for 24-36hrs. Update: Pellets stayed about 90% dry during the storm and feeder was empty the next day. Birds stayed dry too!!!

Bigger than all the others--and keeps the rain off my feeders!
I know people complain that squirrels still get to the feeder, and chew the top. Well, the reality is, bird feeders need to be positioned away from roofs and trees, because nothing will stop squirrels if they can jump to it--and they can jump much farther than most people realize. I have a great pole with a spring-loaded baffle that the squirrels cannot get past--had it for years! Squirrels were getting to it recently and it’s because I left a wooden gate open near the pole, and the squirrels learned to jump from it--6 ft up and 6 ft out-- to grab onto the feeders. So I shut and latched the gate. :) What I really needed was a dome to keep the rain out of my seed, and this is the one! The others were all too small and/or fragile to handle any kind of wind or rain. I was so happy to see this one on Amazon--it’s the same one I have already, from a bird seed store for twice the price (was still worth it and I’m happy to support local stores... but $35 for a plastic dome & hook is a bit much).

Squirrel barrier!
As good as this product is in attempting to keep squirrels away from the bird feeder, the squirrels in our backyard are geniuses when it comes to figuring out how to get their fill of bird seeds. Saw with my own eyes a squirrel jump right under the hood and make its way to the seeds by hanging upside down on the roof of the feeder. My every attempt to block = zero Squirrel for the win = 100%

Nice depth on this baffle
I'm hanging this baffle from a hook, so there was no assembly required. I like this product because it is deeper than many baffles. I covers more of the feeder and the steep curve helps deter squirrels, I think. The hardware to install the baffle on a pole is included, but I didn't need it. One caveat: be sure the diameter of your pole is big enough to be able to install the baffle. I have a pole feeder, but it's a small diameter so pole baffles don't work on it.

Made in USA - even better
The squirrels were costing me a fortune! And filling the bird feeder nearly every day was a real hassle. I bought this two pack (although I only really needed one) and in over a week I haven't seen a single squirrel. Just make sure to follow the instructions and place it at least 4' from the ground and 10' laterally from all structures or trees. Highly recommend!!

Works really well with careful placement
This baffle works really well if you can place it high enough off the ground to keep them from jumping up, but also far enough away from everything else they might be able to jump from directly onto the feeder. I think we're starting the evolution of a new breed of flying black squirrel, because the way they hurl themselves from the top of the tree to the feeder to try to beat the baffle is just insane. Once the ground thaws I will have to move it further from the tree.

Provides a firm, stable, non slip platform for squirrels to stand and jump.
I used it as pole baffle. It is way heavier than needed and the pole attachment ensures almost no wobble so squirrels are at no risk of falling off. A solid, non-slip finish provides for excellent grip for jumping or climbing on or off - this unit is a rodents dream design in every way! It does look very good in ads and is an attractive design, just don't look for it to inconvenience the squirrels in any way.

Keeping the squirrels off and the seed dry
Have had this for a couple of months, and it's working great over my globe feeder. (The globe feeder is also supposed to be squirrel-proof but our skinny little red squirrels had no problem getting in.) We've had snow and rain and it keeps the seeds mostly dry, while giving the birds a little shelter when they dine. I did see a squirrel manage to get past the baffle once soon after we installed it, but they didn't persist. To be fair, I do leave seed accessible to them elsewhere because, hey, they're cute. I just want some food to be left for the birds.

Chipmunks are smarter than us
I got this to protect my feeders from squirrels, chipmunks, and other rodents. The design is great except for the clamp….and the whole thing relies on the clamp working! The clamp is made out of plastic. Chipmunks run up the pole and diligently chew through the plastic clamp until the whole thing comes crashing down. Then up they go to eat the seeds. The clamp should be made of metal so this lasts longer than 2 days

Great quality, super happy with this purchase.
So far, so good! Squirrels haven't figured out how to get around the baffler yet. Birds are getting fed, squirrels are eating seeds of the ground instead of emptying the feeder. Looks good, appears to be well made and nice quality. Bonus feature includes keeping snow and rain off the seeds which is great. Two thumbs up.
