Pretty Sturdy
It is pretty sturdy even in windy conditions.

Base is rust-proof, umbrella tube and parts are not. Could be perfect with some tweaks...
I've bought three of these thus far. Two I bought about 2.5 years ago and one more recently to replace one from 2.5 years ago because it snapped at the base. The base is rust proof, but I'll tell you what isn't and it could be argued is the most important part, the tube/stem that the umbrella goes into. The umbrella tube is made from what seems to be a fairly thin metal that is painted to match the base. The tube is held to the base with a bolt, a fender washer, a lock washer and a nut. These pieces plus the tube itself plus the dial/screw piece that tightens down the umbrella pole all rust. To be fair I'm using these ten feet from a chlorine pool in salty ocean air, so my rust experience and conditions, could be worse than most. On the one that broke, the tube snapped at the base from corrosion and I suspect an extra shove from someone's feet;) I see the other original stand is experiencing the same corrosion. I've been thinking to coat it with a stop rust-type paint, but it wouldn't look very nice to do it on the outside, so you would have to drop it down the tube or remove the tube or do it at assembly (this would be the best time). Also, when it rains, some water can go down the tube, so you have water just sitting on the metal which wouldn't help it either since there are no drain holes. One other issue I've experienced is the tube starts to loosen over time from the base (likely from people moving the table and base around a little) which then results in the umbrella standing at an angle. Between the bolt pieces being corroded and the head of the bolt being down a 12" tube, it isn't the easiest thing to retighten. I had to buy a super long socket extension to reach the bolt head. I'm not sure there is a perfect umbrella stand out there, but this one could pretty much be there with stainless and/or galvanized steel and/or a heavy coating of rust prohibiter. The color (brown with gold faux paint hue) of the stand has pretty much held up. The base over time looks mostly dark brown. Really the only unsightly thing over time is the rust. The base doesn't seem to mark up the pool deck and with the umbrella going through a table into the stand it seems to stay put for tropical storms. The reason I replaced the broken one vs. getting a different stand is because I already had one (I need two) and didn't feel like reattempting fate to find the perfect umbrella stand. If they break again I may get a welder buddy involved and make the perfect stand since the base doesn't have any issues (of course I would have to attempt to match the color, but maybe just paint it all chocolate brown).

Heavy duty and wide for extra stability.
Very pleased. 24 inch wide bass and 50 pound weight. This is what I need for the Florida wind. Hope it holds up when moving it because the pole portion is not attached to the base. Therefore I have to remind hubby do not pick it up by the pole section, move the entire base which is a project since it’s 50 pounds but that’s the whole purpose… heavy weight to tolerate a large umbrella I have a 10 “ in this and it’s fantastic! Also included three sizing rings for the pole holder portion. I searched for a 50 pound umbrella stand and plastic ones that have to be filled with sand and water are running more money than this. Highly recommend. I actually bought three because I got patio umbrellas on sale. This is my first review ever written at Aj 66 but I was so impressed and glad I didn’t pay an arm and a leg for this patio umbrella holder. Hope the price doesn’t go up because of this great review. very stable in the wind
This stand is so much more stable in the wind than the previous one that I had to return as it fell over when you opened the umbrella with the tilt even with no wind. The base on this stand is wider (~24 inches diameter) and much heavier (~47 lbs). Yes, it is heavy, but you need heavy to hold the umbrella stable. It is easy to assemble. I would order this one again.

Stabilized my free standing umbrella
Previous stand didn’t hold up my umbrella on a windy day. This stand is good looking and sturdy. Being a senior I had to roll the stand outdoors being so heavy. Easy to put together just awkward because of the weight.

Frustrating
This is a very attractive umbrella holder. Very well priced. HOWEVER mine came with the threads uneven ...henceforth the umbrella does not stand straight.. Amazon was very good about sending a replacement. The umbrella and stand are were in our front courtyard, and UPS man came the next day and by mistake...picked up the NEW REPLACEMENT in a box, that was sitting next to the defective stand ...by mistake ..... I had not had a chance to take down the defective stand and put in it's box. I do not know how UPS managed to get it back without a shipping label to Amazon but so be it.......so I said forget it..Amazon was considerate enough to discount the one I have The umbrella pole is beginning to lean a bit at the connection..so goes the story.10-Ft. Dia. Market Umbrella, Khaki - Made in the Shade by CASTLECREEK ...I gave this umbrella great review...HOWEVER....it has faded from Khaki to a light taupe, and appears to be on it's way to pink. It is a gorgeous umbrella but will not retain color and may lean at connection If you buy one I would suggest contacting Amazon and ask them to be sure the pole holder will screw on evenly.

Nice looking, sturdy base.
This is a very nice outdoor umbrella holder base. This thing has got some weight to it for sure. It's like 45 lbs.. I looked around Amazon for the best all around, best bang for the buck base. This is a stone type material so it should not rust out. And it's not a plastic which could warp or break due to extreme weather. And it's not a small-ish base ie.... 15, 20, or 25 lbs.. I had to get one that could/should help keep my umbrella up & not blow over. And not cost more than my umbrella.
