Good for price
I just got this today. I took a debur knife to some seems and sharp corners. It's quiet as a mouse after that. The plastic is thick and a bit soft, which hopefully means it can stand the cold. Righty tighty, lefty loosey. Twist clockwise to close it up and counter to open the shutter. This is not high quality gear, but it is great for the price.

Like the good ole days
These remind me of the ones I had while in the 101st ABN DIV. I can’t remember if the original ones were thicker and “sturdier” (better) but, these seem okay and will serve its purpose if it isn’t handled roughly. There’s a lot of different applications for its use. Signaling, tactical low light scenarios, reading maps etc, etc. Keep a fresh unbroken glow stick in one for emergency use in your vehicle. You never know how you’ll use it…

A little light or alot.
We use these at night to direct the light so the person behind you can see you with night vision with letting everyone know where you are and the ability to shut off a chemical light just by closing it trust me it Stull visible in your pocket threw night vision.

Cheap, it does work, just not great
Overall this is a cheap product, it does work just not to my liking. I wouldn't recommend this product for anything other than a larper, the quality is not going to hold up to alot of abuse or use

A must-have if you use SnapLights for utility
I bought a couple of these to keep in my work bag, as a backup to ever-draining flashlight batteries. I am extremely pleased. They are lightweight. That is a pro and a con, as they are fairly rugged but I could see the clip eventually snapping. The tube itself seems more than tough enough to last through drops or even being stepped on. The tube has a clip to attach to, say, your collar. It also has a hole for attachment to a lanyard. They are easy to deploy. I had my 4 year old do it with her eyes closed, from opening the tube with a stored SnapLight in it to re-assembly. I tested mine with Cyalume SnapLight Industrial Grade Lights by Cyalume Technologies, and the fit was perfect (as you would expect from the same manufacturer). Once assembled, the aperture is adjustable so you can let out a little light (as small as a 1mm x 2mm hole), or gradually open it to expose about 1/3 of the SnapLight at full-open. This is great, as it allows you to use the glowstick to see, without having the light blind you at the same time. The light projects away from you without lighting you up. Overall, I would highly recommend these to anyone who uses glow sticks (SnapLights) for work or camping.

A novelty item
It dose the job, hiding light comeing from a standard glowstick. There was bits of leftover plastic that needed to be trimmed off. Not that big of a deal, just ont quality made.

Monopoly - no choice but this plastic toy from the 80s
This is a classic case of what happens when there is a monopoly. Google "light stick holder / case" and you will find that this is the only one in existence. If you need a device that allows you to shield the light stick or to control the amount of light given off, there is no choice but this. In that sense, I am glad that this case exists at all. However, it is terrible value for money. At the moment it costs US$15, but it is just a lump of poorly designed and poorly made injection moulded plastic from the 80s, with a manufacturing cost of well below US$1. The edges are rough and burred, the window size is arbitrarily small, and the clip is flimsy. To those who gave this 5-stars, I have no doubt that it "gets the job done", hence the 3-stars. But a 5-star product needs to the have the same quality as typical tactical equipment. This feels more like a toy for kids.

Just what you'd expect.
Just what you'd expect, hides a chemlight and allows you to control the amount of light. Clips on to most gear easily.

Wicked
People trashing on this item either haven't used it or don't know what they are talking about. USE WITH WHITE CYALUME STICKS!! I needed illumutation for an airsoft night game. I needed to be able to reload a mag/manage my gear, illuminate glow ing th dark weapon sights, navigate a map and read notes on objectives during a game where no electronics were allowed. I also did not want to give off position which a glowstick in your pocket will. It concealed the light and was easy to operate with gloves on. Will be buying more for buddies.

Not worth the price
Does it's job. But in the end this is a bit of cheap plastic hardly worth more than a couple of dollars. The soft plastic is no doubt going to wear out quickly if opening and closing it often making the joints become lose. Getting the full use of the light stick I'd suggest going without the case as it blocks a lot of light even on its "fullest" opening.

Too simple not to work.
Haven't actually used it yet but it's a pretty simple idea. Can't see how it won't do as it advertises. I bought it to use in my hammock at night. Seems to be made as the same plastic as the green canteens. If it is its pretty durable.

Permet un contrôle de la luminosité dégagée par le baton lumineux.
Je m'en sers en kayak de mer pour consulter les cartes topographiques lorsque qu'il s'est fait tard et que je chetche un endroit convenable pour accoster.
