Definitely 100% cotton, however...

This is definitely 100% cotton, very thick watercolor board. When I first started watercolor, I didn't realize the importance of 100% cotton. I learned quickly though, that it makes the painting process and the results so much better. I've been painting on either arches cold press (my favorite) or legion cold press ever since. The downside of this board is that it is most comparable to hot press 100% watercolor paper. It is rather smooth so if you are used to a rough texture like me, this won't be that way. I'm knocking down a star for that. But overall, worth the price if you want quality watercolor board.

Great way to paint

I've been stretching water color paper for awhile and it is such a pain. I love these panels! I can mix wet on wet and only had a problem when I tried to use a scrubber brush for a highlight on dry paper and it tore a little. You can lift paint, do everything you can do on water without the buckling. This is my go to for water color from now on. I have had no issue framing this watercolor board.

Good quality, smoother texture

The board was smoother than I would've liked for a watercolor surface. But it blended really nicely. This is also a lot thicker than most boards.

painting surface

This was a new watercolor surface for me. I loved playing and learning how it reacts to the paint. Does not act like paper. Also, lifts easier and dries faster. This was my first try. Love it.

Great for watercolor painting!

I was skeptical about using this board instead of watercolor paper! But I LOVE it and have actually added more AND put them on my christmas wish list. Great value!

Cheap and fun

Inexpensive and fun to use. Don't expect it to work like paper.

superb board for water colours

I have found this to be an excellent base for water colours and solid enough to send by courier without fear of bending.
