A solid solution for my curtains vs existing wood blinds problem

I had a curtain rod set that needed to be extended past the already existing wood blinds. The beautiful rod bracket that the rods came with would not accomodate that configuration without me having to build something projecting away from the wall...which I simply wasn't ready and willing to do yet. So, I found these little brackets which almost clear the blinds. I'll still have to add a small 3/8" wood block to get the inner rod past the blinds, but this was an easy solution for not too much money. Metal seems sturdy. Finish looks ok...an oiled bronze look, but I am pretty sure its paint that will chip if I'm not careful. However, once they are up on the wall I can't see a reason why they'll ever get touched again so it should be alright. Even so, they sell bronze metallic spray paint if at some point I need to touch up. Comes with mounting screws and large tension screws to secure the rods. Lastly, these state they are for 3/4" rods and that is true. My set was an outer 3/4" rod and an inner 1/2" rod which I will have to modify with a little scrap of vinyl tubing to give it more diameter so it will work with this setup. Unfortunately, I never found exactly what I needed, but the modifications I have to make are minor compared to the other solutions. I'll update this review (maybe post some pics later) if I find any issues upon mounting, but it looks pretty straightforward. Mounting screws are long enough to secure bracket into window header.

Great product - Hard to install.

My wife bought these as a part of re-designing our living room the crafty way. We needed to be able to handle some heavy curtains my wife made that drape all the way to the ground. PROS: All in all these brackets work fine, and seem to hold up to the weight well without much bending. That's helpful when trying to make sure things stay even! :) They're also nice in that the screws that hold the rod in place are large and easy to move without much effort. Other brackets I've experienced in the past have had smaller screws here that make it slightly more difficult when trying to put curtains up or take them down. The color is perfect for what we were using them for. CONS: I think the only con I have with these brackets is that you have to use a long screwdriver to install. The loops for the curtain rod are just in the right spot to make it very difficult to mount the brackets to the wall, or take them down if necessary.

Heavy duty brackets.

These brackets were re-purposed into a pot rack across a kitchen wall. Using three sets of brackets, 4-6'x1/2" sections of metal conduit, and some S-shaped planter hangers, I now have places to hang everything in my kitchen. The brackets are heavy and sturdy and once screwed into the wall, there is no bowing or leaning at all. The screws are long enough to hold up under the pull of all of my pots and pans and utensils. There is roughly 110lbs of metal kitchenware hanging from the rods. If you have heavy curtains, these would be excellent. We mounted them into a wall stud alongside a window frame and they absolutely won't budge.

Double Hung Curtain Brackets

My new 8 month old puppy destroyed my living room and dining room window treatments the first time she was left alone. I searched all of the major stores, including Home Depot, JC Penney's, Sears, Lowe's, etc, to no avail. I did an internet search and found precisely what I was looking for. My curtain rods were intact, however, the existing brackets were demolished, as were my mini blinds and curtains. The brackets went up easily, are heavy duty, and match the curtain rods. They were shipped and delivered in less than a week and were easy to install.

Doesn't fit

Warning! Check the size of the product before installing! I already had ordered the MATCHING curtain rod sets made by the same brand, but needed an additional bracket beyond what was included with the curtain rod set. I ordered this bracket on a recommendation from A&F Rod Decor customer service. I didn't check carefully before installation that the size of this bracket matched the ones provided with the curtain rod, but it turned out, there was a small difference, and the difference was enough to require me to uninstall and reinstall the brackets to get a configuration that worked. Specifically, each curtain rod has a wide piece and a narrow piece, and the included brackets fit either (as is expected), but this bracket was too small and only fit on the narrow piece!

great for having sheers behind drapes

I was tired of having to use ugly tension rods in the windows so I could put up sheers to keep street lights or neighbors porch lights from shining into my bedroom window. These work very well with any of the wrought iron looking rods. I think they carry them in metal finish as well.
