Solves some of the problems
Good news for lovers of the Contigo Spill Proof Straw Tumbler-- this redesign makes it much, MUCH easier to clean all parts of the mechanism! This version is also just as leak-proof, even if falls on the floor or gets tossed upside down in a backpack. It also eliminates a point of failure: it doesn't seem possible for the straw to become unintentionally separated where it screws together. (This was the one source of leaks we have ever encountered with Contigo's spill proof line.) The shorter straw is made from a similar hard plastic, so it does still get bite marks during normal use. My child isn't normally a chewer of straws-- I think it's a reflex to the valve mechanism in these. Now for the bad (potentially dealbreaker for some families) part-- it doesn't fit in our carseat or stroller cupholders! We have Graco Extend2Fit and Slim Fit carseats. This cup does not fit in either. It did not fit in Graco or Kolcraft strollers. It would go into the Joovy stroller cupholder part way but wobble insecurely. It's crazy to me that Contigo clearly put a lot of thought and care and engineering into this redesign, but missed this very important point. Overall, this is still the best spill proof cup on the market.

Actually spill-proof!!
These cups are amazing!!! We haven't been able to find a cup that my 15 mth old grandson likes until we found these!!! He LOVES them and they truly are spill-proof which is GREAT!!!! I HIGHLY recommend these cups!!!!

Leaking
I have the previous model contigo cups and I also have these. I definitely believe the the old cups leak less. The old cups could lay on my floor and there would be no mess. The new cups leave a large puddle on my floor.

Really good cup but the tip is hard and in a fixed position.
We've been through a lot of different cups and water bottles. While it is easier to find leak-proof (real leak-proof) cups and water bottles, many of them are hard to clean or have little parts that can go missing or get damaged. I believe Contigo has almost figured it out. The cup is definitely leakproof and there is just the straw and a rubber gasket. The pieces are large and easy to clean. The only thing I wish was different is the hard straw tip sticking out that is built into the lid. I'd be concerned about my child walking or running with the cup and falling on it. The straw tip is both tall and hard enough to do some damage. They should have done a soft silicone type tip or something you can fold away.

Leak proof
The cup is leak proof and has a cute design that my toddler like. It is a little bit difficult to suck on and the straw is a hard steaw. My toddler prefer silicone straw that she can bite on.

Love this cup!! Fits in most cup holders ????????
The media could not be loaded. We’re huge Contigo fans in this house. My son is 4 and uses the older style hard straw cup as well as a Contigo Kids auto spout. His original straw cup is a few years old and still works great! Never leaks, never spills, and is easy to clean. His auto spout is awesome but doesn’t fit in his Graco 4Ever car seat!! That’s currently the cup he takes to preschool. This one is a fantastic upgrade from the other straw cups. The straw and cap have a rubberized feel to them (which is fun to rub for my sensory kiddo). It’s also slip-proof and easier to hold because of that! The ”guts” are slightly different. His old cup has a hard straw that unscrews in half for easy cleaning. This one has a little silicone “stopper” that it pushes into, and that lays inside the cap. I’m not sure how much I love that design… seems like I’ll have to make sure it’s super clean since there’s one more layer to deal with. Be extra careful with sugary drinks or milk. Use a spooly brush to get inside the straw, too. It’s totally leak-proof! I shoook the heck out of it and even threw it on the floor like he does. ???? no water came out, not even through the straw. Best part: it fits in his cup holders! It’s 14 oz, which is a great size for older toddlers and preschoolers. I love it, too! In my experience, this size gets a little heavy when it’s filled up for kids under 15-18M or so. He started using it more around 18M, and even more after 2. I know $11.99 seems steep for a straw cup, but it’s well worth it. ????

Great size and leakproof
Who doesn't need more cups when you have a toddler? I like testing out different types of cups and brands because not all are made the same. We have a lot of different styles of cups, with straws, spouts, 360 leakproof and this one rates high on my list. This cup, though it isn't the metal kind that can keep liquids cold for a long time, this one is easy to hold, fits most cup holders while having a good capacity to hold liquids, is leakproof even after shaking and flipping but is easy to drink out of. The design is very cup and gender neutral, and I think this will be a new favorite for my son. I would highly recommend this product to others.

Nice
So far, I really like this cup. It does not leave at all when it tips on inside. When you hold it upside down, you have to shake it pretty hard to get it to leak. Not too many pieces that are too complicated to put together like some sippy cups. My three year old likes it and so does my one year old. My only complaint is the space between the rubber circle and the lid is not flush so there’s a little gap in there that would just always stay moist. Definitely will have to make sure I take that part apart well and let it dry between uses.
