Exceeds My Expectations

Back in 1994 or 1995 I purchased a deluxe version of these same Conair clippers, after I discovered that sideburn trimmers on most conventional electric shavers are ineffective on my beard. I've been using the clippers two or three times a week ever since (to trim both my beard and head hair) until it finally gave up the ghost last month. The decades of service it has offered speaks volumes about the quality of these clippers. About a decade ago my old clippers were acting up, so I rushed out and purchased a comparable deluxe set from Wahl. Then I learned how to adjust the power screw, which allowed me to continue using the Conair clippers for many more years. More recently, after the electric motor finally failed, I pulled out the Wahl set. Awful! I don't know if the Wahl clippers were ok for cutting head hair, but they just won't work at all on my beard, so I quickly bought this set instead. I am delighted(!) with it. The business end is a little narrower than it is on the deluxe Conair version, so the old attachment combs from the deluxe kit don't fit, and there are fewer doodads that accompany this basic kit - most of which I don't really use anyway. This basic kit fits my needs perfectly. If you are interested in cutting head hair relatively long, and you cut your own hair, then you might be better off with the deluxe version, because the four attachment combs in this basic set are relatively short (i.e. they cut closer to the skin). As for me, I find the #4 comb perfect for shaving my own head hair (I just run it all around my head without looking - and admittedly I am mostly bald) and the #3 comb is perfect for my beard. Then I use the clippers directly - without a comb - to trim my moustache, sideburns, and on my neck below my beard. (The directions recommend not to have the blades contact the skin directly, but I've found that this is not at all problematic). I can then use a cheap battery-powered shaver to touch up the areas on my neck where I want a closer shave. This works very well for me, and I save a lot of time, effort and money compared to more conventional shaving options. So... anybody interested in a free deluxe set of Wahl clippers?

These clippers do the job but are quite big and clunky. My last set was a much slimmer and lighter version.

Works better than wireless

I shave my head using no attachments and this thing just works every time. I've gone through four wireless trimmers over the last few years (between $60 and $100 each) and for some reason all of them have a problem where, when going against the grain on the sides of my head, they pull some of the hair, and I have to trim my hair in several directions to get the cut even and painless. I happened to be visiting my family and forgot my wireless trimmers and borrowed this trimmer, which worked perfectly the first time without pulling any hairs out. When I got home, I ordered these immediately and have not been disappointed. They were reasonably priced, and they work the first time every time.

Not as powerful as expected

Thought I was going to get a strong and powerful cut to grind my facial hair down to a solid five o’clock shadow. I run the blade over and over and do not see the result I am looking for. My dad has a Conair and it’s powerful and does the job right. So this iteration of the conair product is weak by comparison. I would not recommend.

Save some money and do your own buzz cut.

Nothing wrong with my barber at all, but I thought I would save me some money and buy the Conair Simple Cut Haircut Kit, 10-piece. Model HC90CS. It comes with the 6 1/2" hand-held electric clipper, bottle of lubricating oil, little cleaning brush, attachable glide combs: 3/8" (9.5mm), 1/2" (13mm), 1/4" (6mm), 1/8" (3mm), barber comb and barber scissors. Instructions on one sheet are printed in English and Spanish. With order form for replacements of blade, guide combs, neck brush, lubricating oil and more. Please read the instructions before using the clippers. Make sure the screw on the side of your clipper is at the proper tightness and the two screws of the blades are tight. You must put some lubricating oil (includes mineral oil) on the metal blades before you use your clippers. A little across the top and on the sides. Snap on the guide comb for the haircut of your choice. A 1/4 is a nice round buzz cut. Hold the glide comb in the cup of your hand. The teeth of the black guide comb will fit over the metal blades. The tag goes between the two metal screws. It should easily snap in place. If you don't use any guide comb, you will get a good bald, military hair cut with some skin flakes taken as well. I started with the back of my hair, myself bent over the bathroom sink. A long body mirror to my side. using the 1/4 guide comb, it was so smooth, it didn't feel like the hair was cutting at all. The sides and the front were easy to do. Remember to clean your metal blades afterwards. Use your little brush to clean out the hair. I put everything back in the box for proper storage. El tamaño de la recortadora de cabello es un poco mas pequeña en comparacion a otras que he comprado en el pasado, sin embargo al encenderla se nota que esta equipada con un potente motor, no tuve que hacerle ningun ajuste para que cortara bien como con otras maquinas, el kit esta compuesto por 12 piezas bastante basicas debo de decir, sin embargo para uso domestico es mas que suficiente, el unico detalle es que despues de unos minutos de utilizarla se calienta un poco, buen producto muy recomendable.

Bien para trabajos en casa

En general está bien. Se calienta un poco del Angi después de media hora de uso continuo es un poco molesto pero nada que no puedas remediar. Corta bien el cabello. Las guías sin un poco puntiagudas, llegas a sentirlas mucho al pasarlas por el cabello. No me arrepiento pero no la recomiendo para quienes trabajan en estéticas ya que se calienta muy rápido. Le doy 3 estrellas porque en las imágenes del producto se muestra una bolsa para guardar las cosas la cuál no viene. Y porque se calienta.

No se consiguen peinetas de otras medidas

Muy buen producto, buenos materiales y funciona muy bien. No le puse 5 estrellas porque la peineta más grande es del número 4 (muy corto) y es una odisea encontrar un distribuidor de la marca Conair, para que te digan que no hay refacciones de este modelo, peinetas, nada. Muy mal eso.
