Nice set. May require some tuning. Some oversize, may jam in commercial templates.
This set works well. I have used it a fair amount with two brands of routers that accept the standard Porter-Cable router guides. Perfect fit. Pros: - Brass. (Better than steel. Chipped a bit once on a loose steel PC guide!) - Good selection of sizes. - Two lock nuts. - Nice case. - Fits thin template material (1/4" and thinner). - Threads clean and sharp. Cons: - Surfaces obviously machined, but only a fair finish. Could use some polishing. - Bushing outside diameter oversize. May jam in commercial templates. The oversize bushings could be a problem with some commercial templates. Here are the measurements from the set I received: 5/16 +0.002, 3/8 +0, 7/16 +0, 1/2 +0.002, 5/8 +0.008, 3/4 +0.005, 51/64 +0.002, 1 +0.002. Most of the time, with shop-made templates, a few thousandths oversize is no problem. But with something critical, like a dovetail template, 8 thousandths could cause some problems. And that 5/8 bit is the most frequently used. On mine, about 5 minutes work with a ribbon of emery cloth brought it down to size. If you damage a bushing, Woodcraft sells individual replacement bushings that are an exact match for this set. At a higher price, Whiteside sells beautiful USA-made precision bushings with a centering guide for those critical applications.

Tolerances were right on with my set
I have been using these bushing for a couple of years now and they have served me well. I use them with a Bosch 1617evs plunge router with an adapter and with a Pinnacle (WoodPecker) router lift. I have had no problems with them as long as they are secured well. After reading GINKGO's review, I checked my set for tolerances with a micrometer scaled to 1/64th. All of the ODs were dead on except 3/8 which was one quarter of a division small or approximately -1/256th or -0.004. The ID measurements were right on except for 11/32, 13/32 and 7/8 which were all again approximately -1/256 smaller. However, I am not confident of the latter due to the difficulty of aligning the micrometer perfectly for inside measurements. The 5/8 OD and 5/8 ID were right on, but were not tested with an actual dove tail jig as I don't use one. They are not pretty but have held up well under reasonably heavy use. I wish the sizes were stamped (engraved would be even nicer) on the bushings themselves.

Using a caliper the sizes checked out for non-commercial jigs.
After ripping up a bit on a non-brass busing it was time to switch to brass since it's softer than the bit. I measured the torn up bushing and the brass bushing using a caliper that measures to the thousands (0.000). They were within 0.001 and even considering the tolerance of the device this should be fine on home jigs. I have heard, but have no experience with, commercial jigs require tighter clearance but it seems unlikely a commercial shop would buy a brass bushing set in this price range.

Great set of Router Guide Bushings
This appears to be a very good set of guide bushings at a very good price. They fit both my Porter Cable bases and my Jessem router lift. It is a nice little case that fits well in my router table cabinet as well. Would buy again if needed and would recommend them to a friend.

Shop Fox D3117 Brass Guide Bushing Set
My negative concerns with purchasing this item were proven correct, as described by previous reviews, and then some. - the plastic molded box it comes with was not manufactured correctly, and is flimsy; it only closes on one side, and that "latch" (which is also a hinge) is certain to fail with continued use. The "latch" on the other side will have to be messed with (i.e. trim some plastic) to make it work, or I'll end up having to use a clip or strap to insure closure... or just make a better box from wood. - the 5/8" OD and 5/16" OD bushings are out of tolerance for my PC dovetail jig templates, both too large. Like a previous comment, I will have to carefully reduce their OD to make them slip more easily between the fingers of the templates (1/2" BDT, 1/4" BDT). I am not looking forward to using the other guides for other applications, as they may also need work to "fit" standardized templates. If you think/hope you will be able to use these straight out of the flimsy box, think again. I am using these with a DeWalt 611, and the bushings fit the subbase(s). However, I have needed to remove the subbase(s) to get a good lock on the bushing. Perhaps I can use a tool to accomplish this without having to remove the subbase(s), but I would prefer to tighten them by hand. I'll have to blame my fat fingers (although they're not). So, the decision is whether to send these back (and possibly have the same rather poor quality returned to me in +2 weeks), or to just make them work. Because of my intermediate skill, demeanor, and desire to complete some work within a given timeframe, I'm leaning toward the later. Overall: not satisfied, but surrendered to the fact that you can't always get what you want, and to work with what you have. By the time I finish with them, they'll be worth what I would've payed for another, higher quality set.

Exceptionally versatile bushing set
This bushing set is exceptionally versatile because in addition to a complete range of sizes, the 'throat' where the bit comes through the bushing is relatively short and fairly consistent from bushing to bushing. The short 'throat' means the ability to use thinner template materials than with a usual set of bushings. These bushings are a tremendous addition for anyone doing template work with a router.

Solid bushings
Purchase for use with some woodworking projects. Solid heavy duty brass and a good price for the assortment. Nice that it comes in it's own case as I hate items "mingling" in a tool chest.

If you use a router, these are a necessity ...
If you use a router, these are a necessity for routing to patterns. These are decent quality for heavy home use at a lower price than competitors.

Buy OEM part
Do not fit the Makita routers as spec'd. The hole in the base plate is considerably larger than any of the inserts and there is no adapter available. Good for a paperwate. Quality is moderate 4-5 on a scale of 10.

Works on Milwaukee Cordless
Purchased this kit to use with my Milwaukee cordless router for mortising door hardware. Bushings fit on the oversize plate but do not fit on the default plate.

Well made and boxed
Fit and finish excellent. The storage box is a really nice touch. Fits 6 other routers that I have.
