Buy it!
I love love love this toilet seat. I also ordered a few different manufacturers for my other two bathrooms. When they arrived they were not the same quality as this one although comparable in price. I'm calling them the next business day to see if they have other wood colors. It's beautiful, shiney, easy to keep clean and looks clean all the time, durable and very classy. Buy it.

Attractive but needs better packaging
Beautiful stained wood, matches espresso cabinets well, nice polyurethane protective finish. Packaged cheaply so arrived with a small gauge in the top and depressions in the finish in the seat from lack of packaging between the seat and cover during shipment.

Review for Walnut, Mahogany, and Dark Brown Brushed Nickel Elongated Designer Solid Wood Comfort Seats. C1B1E- (16, 18, 19)BN These toilet seats are driving me nuts and now I understand why the reviews contradict each other. The hardware has changed and reviews should include the color purchased instead of scrambling them all together. Here is what I have learned and experienced from multiple toilet seats received and returned. COLORS - All very shiny, show and attract dust, but pretty. Walnut- might as well be black. Whether 150 watt lights or out in the sunshine, it is black, no sign of wood grain or walnut tones. There are many less expensive and better made black seats. Don't bother at this price. Mahogany - A medium dark cherry red, grain does show well on mine. Very pretty color but way too purple/red to match any wood that is mostly brown with a touch of red, so didn't work for me. Clashes with both teak and espresso wood if you have any in your bathroom close by. Dark Brown - A dark espresso brown, grain does show. Matches Kohler Woodland perfectly. Seat is a bit lighter in color than the cover on mine. This is the one that matches my vanity. HARDWARE - There seems to have been a change here recently. One I got from another vendor that advertises heavily on HGTV had completely different hardware with same model number. The brushed nickel finish was more satiny and much better quality than the Amazon one. The photos above showing the hinges with 2 washers and a nut on the bolt match the ones I got from the other vendor. The Amazon Brushed Nickel ones I received this week in both Mahogany and Dark Brown are different. They might as well be called badly chrome finished rather than brushed nickel, way too shiny. Fortunately you don't really see much of them standing in the bathroom. On the W one the seat didn't wiggle, it had rubber stoppers between the seat and toilet and the cover, better plastic nuts and washers, and the inside cover had an ugly white oval "Comfort Seat" label on it. The Amazon ones wiggle more, have hard plastic seat and toilet bumpers (in fact mine came with a dent in the seat already just from shipping, I may return but figure I'll dent it myself just sitting on the cover), the cheapest toilet plastic nuts and washers I have ever seen (came in a plastic bag), and a tiny burnt in black "Comfort Seat" label on the inside cover (an improvement). Not sure which version the reviews are complaining about since mine are too new. Either they have changed the specs or Amazon is getting scaled down seconds. COMFORT AND FIT - It's a flat wood toilet seat, no butt shaped contours or anything. For me this seat is much more comfortable than the thin plastic butt shaped one that came with my Kohler Santa Rosa toilet. Length wise, perfect fit on the Santa Rosa by the way. Makes a loud crash sound if you drop the seat or cover down with the hard plastic bumpers. Don't put it in a bathroom young kids use. Overall I am giving this Amazon bought Comfort Seat 3 stars, assuming it will last a while. Down to 2 if it doesn't at this price. Quality control - 2 stars Mine came with a dent and scratches already on the top of seat from rubbing against the top cover bumper during shipping. Hardware is more chrome than brushed nickel (two different seats with BN labeling), connectors are cheap plastic crap, bottom of seat has some strange pattern defects as well but it doesn't show with the seat down. Looks - 5 stars, When you get the color you want, it's a smart looking seat and it is slim pickings for wood seats these days. Definitely the best looking (only) espresso wood elongated seat I could find anywhere. Price - 3 stars, even if not marred with the cheaper hardware it should be a $40 seat, not $60. If it only lasts a year or two, it should be more like $30. So overall 3 to 3 1/2 for this product. Usual fast delivery and excellent return policy from Amazon. Other vendor charged $9 return shipping for the return. UPDATE: lowered rating to 2 stars since I ended up returning it. Dents from the lid developed on both sides of the seat (one side came that way) from the bumpers as I suspected and they are getting deeper, the seat being so flat really isn't very comfortable because it digs in on the inside edge, and if it the edge chips the undercoating is bright white. At first I thought it looked classy but now I thinks it looks like it is trying too hard to be classy but can't cover it is rather poorly made and designed. Maybe the older models were better but this is no way worth $63.

Looks great but has serious drawbacks
The seats themselves are beautiful and easy to keep clean/polished looking. They fit a standard Glacier Bay toilet, typical product for most homes in our area. The really big problem: The posts are metal. The nuts are cheap plastic. They don't marry up. From the first time I tried to tighten them, they get close to tight and then just spin. I didn't want to strip them so I was gentle and didn't try too hard. The seat is permanently loose and must be used carefully. After the first week, we all got tired of sitting on a seat that would suddenly jerk sideways because you can't tighten it. I took action. I bought the only universal size of nuts sold at Home Depot. They don't fit those posts. I bought washers. It didn't help. I bought rubber gaskets that are made to fit inside the holes and help the posts remain tight. Nope. Then I bought no slip brackets to mount to the base of the seat and hold it in place. Four extra products. The brackets are great, but the next problem: if you have males in the house who raise the seat each time. The more often the seat is raised and lowered, the looser the brackets become. All of this because of metal posts versus really thin/cheap plastic nuts. Sooner or later, the brackets are going to break off and I will give up. I would guess we have another couple of months before I buy new seats all together. I bought these seats in 2016. I've never had to replace seats twice in one year.

Classic Style & Quality ~~!
The finest aspect of these toilet seats is the solid wood and finish; truly lovely and so very comfortable. When removing the original white plastic Kohler seat, however, I saved the cone-shaped butterfly bolt to use at installation of this new wood seat. The white nut provided with these wood seats is flat, does not fit up into the toilet bolt holes, so does not secure well, causes the seat to work itself loose. This the only suggestion for improvement. The seat itself is beautifully made and very fine quality!

This seat is improved over my 2013 model
The attachment broke on my 2013 model and it was a mahogany color; I ordered this one because I needed a replacement. The dark brown is almost like the deep wine color of the mahogany model I had, thus, I was pleased with the color. I was more pleased with the changes they made to the mounting system; it seems much stronger, and works great. I now weigh 300 pounds, since taking hormones for prostate cancer, I'm 6'5" and need any extra height and strength. I did install a taller toilet, the wooden seat adds additional height over the cheap plastic thin seats toilets come with these days.
