Nice, large platform
We were looking for a way to get our older, 85lb German Shepard into a compact Chevy. Since the back door does not open wide, a ramp was useless and so was a stepstool as the steps were too steep and shallow to get a good foothold even if we could get past the door opening. The Pet Gear ramp worked out perfectly. It could be positioned anywhere below the open door and wide enough to give the dog confidence in her footing. The car is low enough to the ground that we didn't require a lot of elevation like a pickup or some suv's would. We just needed a good stable platform to assist her while the nonslip carpetlike top gave good traction. While the ramp does not collapse, it is light and narrow enough to slide down to the floor between the seats to be sufficiently out of the way.

Perfect!
Just what my older Collie needed to help her getting in and out of my car! It was raining when I got it so I set it up inside at the couch. She let me know she didn’t need help getting up on the couch thank you very much. But I coaxed her into trying it anyway. Today I decided to drive her to the park for a walk so set it up at the car and she at first didn’t want to use it. Then she figured out it would help and willingly went up it and back down when we arrived and it is perfect for her! She had gotten so it was so difficult to get in sometimes she would flounder and fall and getting out was so precarious. I’m so happy she has this step now! It was super easy to put together and seems sturdy but not too heavy. Five Stars from me and Miss Lucy!

Good for giant breeds too!
Our 170 lbs Mastiff has hip issues and he sometimes struggles to lift his feet higher than 8 inches off the ground. With this, he gets that leg up and can climb into bed. But he is very independent and tries to not use it LOL But when we put it in front of the car to climb in, no problems. He's so stubborn. With it was cheaper; we'd buy more. The only downside I can possibly see is that the anti-slip fabric on the top is kinda scratchy so if you have a cat, they might hang claw in it.

I would give this ramp 100 stars if I could!
I never write reviews but for this dog ramp I had to! We have 2 of these shorter ramps for our couches and 2 of the taller foldable ramps for our bed from this brand. They are LIFE CHANGING!! We have a dog who had surgeries on her hips & knees in both of her rear legs so mobility is an issue for her. These ramps are the only ones with this special carpet that makes it easy for dogs to go up and down. Other ramps that just have regular carpet are not easy for dogs to use because they are too slippery. We tried one of those and she couldn’t grip onto it so we had to send it back! However, these ramps are amazing and I would highly recommend!

Bulldog Must Have!
I bought this for my 60lb English bulldog. He is not good at going up steps and couldn't jump onto our couch or into the car. While he does "allow" us to pick him up, he really doesn't like it so we needed something to help him to climb up all by himself. This step is perfect because he really wants to get all four paws on and this is long enough for him to do that. Like I said, we use this for him to access our couch and also bring it along in the car for him to climb in and out of my SUV. It took some coaxing to teach him to use it but once he got the hang of it he became more confident and uses it all the time.

Perfect for our basset hound to get in our sedan
Because our dog is low and long she is not a fan of traditional stairs and long ramps won't work with the doors on our sedan. This fit the bill. It takes a little coaxing each time but she is not afraid of it and she is able to get both her front and back legs on it at the same time and then use her front legs to easily hop up onto the seat of the car. We have also used it in the house so she could more easily get up on the couch. It is small enough to easily fit in the trunk of the car. It is also sturdy but light enough to pick up with one hand.

Works PERFECTLY for our Baby Girl.
Bella is going to be 12 years old. She is a pedigree Chocolate Lab. She now has arthritis in her legs and it has become a bit difficult for her to get up in the SUV or up on her blanket on the couch without some assistance. We thought that if we got the PetGear ramp it would help... but she is scared of it and wants nothing to do with it so we decided to by this PetGear step. IT IS PERFECT FOR HER. She has no hesitations or any kind using this product. It is a hard, sturdy plastic and of good quality. It is light enough to carry around when we have to tote it outside so she can get in the SUV or truck. I'm actually thinking about getting a 2nd one. WELL WORTH THE PRICE AND THIS SELLER WAS FAST WITH THE SHIPPING!

Mobile and sturdy
My 70+ lb. Aussie was having trouble getting into my Jeep and the multiple stairs units that are out there are a pain to setup and move. She just needed this extra 10" lift from the ground and now it's just the right height to get in and out without major leaps or big drops to the hard ground.

SO worth it
Quincy my tubby little bulldog has been having difficulty in his old age getting up to be the lap dog he was always meant to be (all 70lbs of his slobbery, wrinkly face!) He has gotten used to this (took a few months for him to trust it)... and now he waits patiently while I go fetch the step from wherever it is in the house. I don't know who has trained who here.... ? This step is a must for short legged and wide creatures.

Great ramp
It's super sturdy and easy to assemble. Bought this for my 9 year old 65 lbs bulldog to use to have access to the couch. Took him a couple days to get used to it and now he uses it every time. Definite improvement for his overall health of not needing to jump from the couch to get off of it. Only thing is if you have hardwood floors it will slide on them. I recommend gorilla grip pads for that.

Takes up a lot of space in the trunk of a little car, but worth it
My dog is old and her back legs are failing her. She likes to be with me when I drive around. She is too heavy for me to pick her up. I tried ramps, but I found the ramps too unwieldy and slippery. This is perfect. Although it takes up a lot of trunk space in my little hatchback, it is worth it. It is very sturdy, wide enough for the dog to feel comfortable enough to step onto it, but light. It is extremely easy to put together (less than 3 minutes). We have long winters and I sometimes have to put my foot onto the corner of it so it doesn't slide around in the snow when the dog jumps in and out of the car. I would recommned this.
