Strong wood and what I needed
This was what I needed. I had to get a strong one to replace the old one that was fragile. The wood on this gate was much stronger. Also there is no assembly needed.

For bottom of stairs
This is the perfect gate for the bottom of my stairs to keep my dogs from going up. If your dogs are well behaved like mine, this will work perfectly. The gate is more attractive than most baby gate type gates and doesn’t distract from the style of our home. A dog determined to get through would knock this over easily. I would recommend for a dog that isn’t well trained and obedient.

Good gate for a great price
We got this gate to keep our destructive cat out of a hallway. Since the hall opening is ~44", we couldn't find a sturdy gate wide enough without going above $50+. This was a great option! But since it is a freestanding gate, we had to prop it against the wall, which was fine and we had no issues with. It was tall enough to keep our 15lb monster back, and short enough that I could step over it (I'm 5'3") without too much effort. We finally broke down last week and invested in a legit pressure mounted baby gate because the cat figured out how to knock it over, no matter what we put in front of it. I would recommend this gate for the price and quality! It worked out well for us for 10 months. And it's not broken at all so we are keeping it for future use if needed. Cat just got a bit smarter. I would not recommend if you have a cat or dog that can jump (ours can...but he wasn't smart enough to realize that it's short enough to jump over), and it's not good for toddlers, since it's not mounted at all.

I purchased this gate to keep my older cat out of certain areas in my home. I ended up purchasing 3 gates. I found the gates to be overall attractive but they did have various grades of imperfections. They were all rough in spots. Some of the gates were so rough that they were discolored. Although I know I could have returned them-as Amazon does have an excellent return policy-I did not feel like dealing with it so I used a furniture marker on the discolored spots and it worked well enough for my purpose (up close you can barely see the imperfections-but from a normal viewing distance they look very nice. I had concerns that my cat might knock them over, go through the openings or jump over them. Although a more agile cat could jump over them-my older cat could not.My cat could not get through the openings. I do think my cat could have knocked the gate over so I put an object next to the gate so it would not fall over and that did the trick. Although I do think the manufacturer should be more consistent with checking the "paint job"-I overall was happy with the pet gate.

Perfect solution for our dituation
This is exactly what I needed!! Ready to go out of the box, short enough for me to easily walk over and stands on its own. I needed a gate at the office as I no longer have a door into my area. While my service dog doesn’t wander I didn’t want people coming into our space to bother her without me knowing or her following me to alert if i needed to leave her in our space for deliveries etc. (she is trained to break a stay to alert/task, but also to bark/talk if she cant reach me, so basically I wanted to force the safer option if we wee accepting deliveries, had equipment, etc. ). Do this looks wonderful in our space, can go with me if i need to move for the day, doesn't damage or attach to the walls, and is enough to delineate exactly what I expect for my girl.

Perfect for our split level home with small dog
This is a revision of my previous review. Our split-level house has two flights of stairs that are configured differently. In addition, our main floor has entries to the living room and kitchen/dining area that are wider than standard doorways. So I wanted something that would contain our dog and work at each location. Note: Our dog is a 20 lb terrier-chihuahua mix. Don't know how well it would work with larger dogs. This folding gate is free-standing, and has the sturdiness and flexibility that I wanted. It is easy to set up at every location; and it folds up nicely when not in use. At the price I thought it might be cheap-looking. But was pleasantly surprised at how nice it looks.

There are pros and cons to this gate
This gate is lightweight for moving around. It's fairly wide to block a larger opening. It comes assembled right out of the box. But if you're a senior I would not call this a step over gate. It's a little too high. Our 12 and 13 year old cats have trouble jumping over without hitting it. We have a 20 inch gate which is much easier to step over for us and the cats. It's fine to keep our puppy from going where we don't want her to go. But if you have a bigger dog it will probably be able to move it.

Antes de comprar cualquier artículo me gusta leer los comentarios de los compradores. Esta barrera es justo lo que necesito para no permitir el acceso a diferentes áreas de mi casa a mis gatos, pero debo aclarar que están muy educados, es sólo a manera de señalamiento, y como es móvil, la puedo cambiar de lugar en todo momento. Para lugares de estricta seguridad sí compré la barrera que va atornillada a la pared, de excelente calidad y seguridad. La única recomendación que hago sobre el producto es mejorar la calidad de terminado en la madera, un poco de barniz extra no le vendría mal y mejoraría su aspecto.

Looks like it was packed when the finish was still wet
The finish was very poorly applied and there was still saw marks on the wood in 1 spot. The gate is sturdy, and exactly what I needed but not impressed with the finish, so that's why the rating was low

Not what I expected
Fast delivery.....but this product was extremely flimsy and cheaply made, especially for the cost. It did not even stand up to a 3.5lb puppy who was 9 weeks old.

It's okay.
Not what I was expecting, wood is flimsy and rough. If the gate is not at a 45 degree angle it can easily be knocked over by pets. I had to put blocks on both sides to prevent my puppy from knocking it over.

Works Fine
As advertised. Works fine. I like that it stands on it's on. Obvioulsy a bigger dog can jump over it or knock it down if it wants to, but great for puppies and smaller dogs
