Chrome Mechanical Watch

UPDATE It's been quite a while since I bought this watch. While it is still beautiful, it stopped working a long time ago (I forgot to update in a timely manner!). My fiance only had it for a few months before it just stopped working. It won't "hold" the wind. By this I mean when he winds it up, it will only keep ticking for a few minutes and then stops. We planned to have it sent in for servicing but have never gotten around to it- I think my fiance was too disappointed to bother with it. I should clarify no physical damage occurred to the watch and he never wound it too hard or overwound it. I am unsure if it was just defective or if this brand is no good, but when we do eventually get it fixed hopefully it starts working again. ORIGINAL I bought this watch for my boyfriend as a kind of engagement gift, as we both bought each other pocket watches. He says the picture doesn't do it justice-- it is a very stunning watch! Nothing seems to be wrong with it at all, and the quality appears to be of the highest. I did notice that the "proper" way to close the watch is to hold down the button so the mechanism won't break. Personally I wish this was not so fragile, as I'm fearful it may break on accident during normal daily use (it is intended for use, not decoration, after all) but we plan on being very careful with it. As of now I don't expect anything to go wrong but if something changes I will update this review!

So Beautiful

I bought this watch for my boyfriend as a first anniversary gift. He loved it. The Good - It is just as beautiful as the picture depicts. - It is high quality. I was slightly afraid when I purchased it that it would be cheap quality. - It keeps time well. However, my boyfriend has only had it a few months and doesn't use it on the regular. - It comes with a chain. The listing does not depict this, so it was a pleasant surprise. - The open face gives it a beautiful vintage look There was nothing bad about this watch, it is beautiful and sophisticated. It made an excellent anniversary gift.

Charles-Hubert, Paris 3928 pocket watch

Beautiful! Had it about a week and it does a great job of keeping time. It's a wind-up mechanical, so I don't expect it to be perfect...but after almost a week it is still accurate to the minute! I wish the entire front cover was completely sealed, but it is only the center of the cover that has the acrylic/plastic. I worry about dust and lint getting into the mechanism from my pocket. Quite honestly, I think it is a beautiful piece that I never tire of looking at and I enjoy the occasional winding that it needs whenever I see that the inner spring has become unwound.

Treasure!

Hi! I just got the package today. thank you! It's a really wonderful pocket watch and I was surprised that it costed way cheaper than the pricetag that came along with it. It's way more than worth it. It's definitely a treasure for keeping. It's a sturdy watch, and the picture, definitely does not do the watch enough justice cause it's ten times better when you watch the actual watch function in action. The details are fantastic. I wouldn't think twice about buying or any other charles hubert paris pocket watch. thank you so much for the great buy.

disappointment

This was a beautiful watch, i loved it. I treated with the utmost care, and yet the winding mechanism broke after a month of owning it. I did not over-wind, in fact there is no such thing as over-winding when speaking of a well made watch. (if you do research, you will discover i speak truth) It simply is a very cheap and poorly constructed Chinese made movement. It's real shame, because while it worked, it kept excellent time and was so enjoyable to own. I returned it for full refund and will no longer buy from this company, nor recommend them. Until quality control of their products is done, i don't see why anyone should support their company. Also note, yes this did come with a warrentee, and upon reading it, i would have to pay 8$ in shipping to get it to them for them to replace or repair. I believe i should not have to pay an additional $8 to the $66 i already spent on it a month before. If their product is faulty, it should not bear on the cost of my wallet to set things right. I am thankful for amazon and the return services they provide, so that i don't pay for the shipping to be rid of the burden. 5 stars for amazon and 0 for this watch company.

My first Charles-Hubert pocket watch... I will be purchasing more.

What can I say? I like side-winders! This is a nice watch, well made, looks good, and it keeps time well. At first I was a bit worried about some of the cutaway work on the face cover snagging on something when it is put into/taken out of a pocket but, as long as you keep it in it's pouch, there shouldn't be a problem. At first I was only going to give this watch 4 stars; but FOR THIS PRICE RANGE I give it a 5.

Lovely piece

At the price, I thought that this watch would be of lesser quality but it looks as lovely as it does in the pictures, and has a heft of a much more expensive watch. We've only had it since Christmas, but my husband winds it daily and it doesn't seem to be losing time at all. He cannot wear a wrist watch and finds it useful to have on a table to glance at the time in a meeting, instead of having to reactivate his sleeping phone screen, which can give away that he wants it to be over, soon!
