Could be improved
The lid straps aren't very useful. Unless whatever they are holding is pretty thick it will tend to slide down and out when the lid is opened. The handle is not very ergonomic, it digs into your hand if you're carrying it far. It should be more rounded and/or rubbery. I question the waterproof-ness of it in a fire as the gasket is largely exposed and will melt. I would put any important documents or electronics in a waterproof container within the box. Otherwise it seems solidly built.

Pretty deep and wide.
For me the selling point was how wide the safe is. I can fit a folder with no problem of bending. Its also pretty deep so you can fit a good amount of stuff in there. Also if you buy the safe with the straps it stores more in the top opening of the safe which is a really good idea. It really make a difference to save a bit of space in the safe. As for the key it is diferent from a traditional key so you will know that it belongs to your safe with out getting confused of which key is it. Overall im happy with this purchase.

Small Safe
Thank You. Looks Very Good

Good item. Cheap plastic locking system.
Like the design. Why they use the cheap plastic locking system that probably won’t hold up.

Good for documents
Bought this simply to store our living trust documents, passports and other paper documents. It’s not that big inside but I wanted the size to be able to carry it out.

Pretty Good Vault
Got this for my new apartment so we could safely store documents and the like. Works for the purpose, easily hidden, but a full sized Manila envelope gets creased around the seal of the vault when you close it. Personally would go larger to keep birth certificates and the like pristine and unbent. Reccomend

Feels Secure,
Haven't had to test the fireproof/waterproof features of this chest (and hope I won't have to) but it does feel very secure and is easily hidden away. The only complaint for this is that it's smaller inside than I thought it would be. I think if you put in documents by themselves it could be okay.. a regular 8.5x11 sheet of paper slightly curves on the long side, but if you need to have your files organized.. you'd need a bigger safe

Safety for important documents
This is a nice fire proof container. It is not a safe. I could break into this in like 2 seconds if I needed or wanted to. However if the house burns down, I hope I will be able to pull my important documents out of the ashes. Pros: Price is good for this size fire box. Ok room inside for smaller documents or documents you don;'t mind folding. Seals seem to be good and with a couple silica gel dry packs everything is mold free. Exterior size is good. Solid feel, hefty weight. Portable. Barrel keyed lock is more secure. Cons: The handle is the weakest link, I don't see that thing lasting. No secure loop to lock this thing to something. Would be nice to have a security look to put a cable around something to secure it. You can't store a larger document or a folder in this safe, it won't fit. Any documents larger than 8 1/2 x 11" will most likely need to be folded, example, my college degree won't fit. No way to bolt this down, but I knew this, you can't bolt it down because that would render the fire protection useless. For the price and size, this is a good fire proof, water proof box for your important documents. It shouldn't be considered a safe since there is no way to secure it to anything and it is portable. I guess if you use it for valuables, hide it well.

Wow what a hunk of junk
Ok, I never leave a 1 star, but for this safe I have to. I'm still scratching my head on how it has so many great reviews. I literally removed it from the box, grabbed the cheap plastic handle and opened it. Upon opening the plastic handle snapped off. The internal locking mechanism literally latches onto that plastic handle. Like WTF. How can this even be called a safe? If you want to break into this thing, all you have to do is break that brittle plastic part. It's "SAFE" to say this is being returned.

Fits the essentials and is perfect for personal home use.
I haven't experienced fire or flood with this box, not that I'd like to... but I can at least review it's spaciousness and design. It fits everything I need it to, plus a little extra room. It's currently housing my diplomas, birth certificate, will, small family heirlooms, very important paperwork, memory cards, some photographs, some jewelry, yada yada... It's portable, which makes it more easier steal, unfortunately. But I didn't buy a small safe to be bolted into the floor, so I just have to keep it hidden and hope for the best, knowing that I'm at least covered for fire and flood. (Part of me wants to add a note saying, no cash in safe, it's called a bank - lol). PS, the best place to keep a safe during a fire is ideally beside two exterior walls (which is the coldest spot during a house fire) and never anywhere near gas pipes (ie, kitchen and furnace room).

Worth it to buy on Amazon Vs in store… cheaper
Great little fire safe for passports, documents, etc… Hard to open after it’s been closed because of a locking air chamber mechanism but do not panic, it will open again with some fannagling by sitting, standing, or balancing on top of it while you or (hopefully) someone else, turns the key to pop it open, so you can finish securing all your items. Also it is heavy. Two hand job. Anyways it’s a great buy. It’ll do the job.

Good Enough, Good Value
The handle and closing parts are not top quality. It really isn't made for valuables. It is made for protecting paperwork (Wills, certificates, passports, etc) from fire or floods. I have a perfect hiding spot, and do not even plan to lock the safe. A potential burglar could just pick it up and take it. Highly recommend for keeping papers safe, don't waste your money if you want to use it for cash or other valuable items.

Everything I was looking for
Thankfully I haven't had to use this through a fire or flood, but otherwise it was everything I was looking for. Comfortably holds A4 size (regular printer size) paper. It certainly doesn't have a large amount of storage space, but you should be aware of that when buying it. It holds many important family documents (certificates, journals and other records), our passports and our external hard drive well. It certainly wouldn't stop a determined thief from breaking through the lock (that isn't what this is designed for), but it will keep children eyes away. It gives a sense of security for our important family files in the unlikely event of a fire or flood (relatively recently our city had major flooding and we heard many stories of families loosing important files due to it, from health records to family history documents (old journals, ect)). Would recommend, but understand that it doesn't have a huge amount of storage space. You will have to pay more for that, understandably. Also would recommend putting in a silica gel humidity control packet in the safe box (which arrive with many products and you can reuse them). This is just good safe practice and has nothing to do with this brand.
