Almost perfect.
These don't feel much heavier than a standard set of safety glasses to me. Its great being able to just flip down the magnifier rather having to swap out my safety glasses for readers, every ten minutes, or worse, wear a pair of large goggles that barely fit over my readers and fog up too easily. And the price is reasonable enough to buy extra pairs, for when you lose the magnifying attachment, which while reasonably well made, will still catch things and pull off easily, especially when flipped up. I was a bit confused by the 1.5 power/2.5 diopter lingo. I vaguely understand the difference between magnification and diopter. It seems to mostly affect the range of magnification, in that the degree of magnification varies between the two distinctions the farther you are away from what you're looking at: 1.5 mag will be clearer at 5-8 feet than 1.5 diopter, but they'll be about the same clarity at 1-2 feet away. For 5-8 feet distances, 1.0 diopter would be more equivalent to 1.5 mag. These glasses however, have almost the exact same magnification properties of my 2.5 mag readers in terms of reading clarity up close. So, I'm at a loss as to why they claim only 1.5 power. Regardless, they currently suit my needs well in that department. Any work beyond arms length becomes blurred. But you just flip them up and keep going. These are not bifocal magnifiers. The entire flip down lens magnifies, which is what makes them so ideal compared to other alternatives for those who just need something for up close, not for a distance yet. I haven't used these in the summer yet, but based on just a few warmer winter days here in the humid south, I suspect a head strap will be crucial in warm weather, if you're not working in the AC. The nose piece doesn't feature any rubber coating to keep them from slipping down your nose when you start to sweat. That might be just as well, as flexible rubber pieces tend to fall off, and fixed ones tend to dissolve from the salt in your sweat after a season. Unfortunately, snugging them against your face will cause them to cloud a bit, even if you're not noticeably perspiring. A foam or rubber top that keeps the lenses farther away from your brow would probably go a long way toward alleviating this. Though, ideally, I'd also love to see these offered with a foam liner that fits against your face, fully encircling each lens. I fell in love with such when riding motorcycles, as in addition to not fogging up nearly as easily from sweat, it keeps the air out of your eyes, something that would be extremely helpful in fields where wearing a dust mask along with goggles is routine.

Works for my mom who has terrible eyesight from diabetic complications.
My mom has had diabetes for quite a long time and her eyesight has been effected and getting progressively worse as well. She is now at a point where she cant see to read anymore unless the print is very large. This is a problem for her since she has always taken pride in doing her own bills and reading the morning paper etc. Well, this little magnifying attachment is helping her get back into her old routine. The 8x lense helps her the most but the field of view is so tiny that basically, all she can make out is a couple letters at a time as she tries to read. The 5x gives her a much wider field of view so makes reading easier even though it doesnt magnify the reading source as much. My mom also likes that she can wear this attachment on her glasses all of the time, simply flipping it up out of the way when it isn't needed. Its very lightweight so doesnt add much of anything extra to her current glasses. In fact, she often forgets that this lens is attached. This magnifying attachment does not feel incredibly well made-its basically just plastic with acrylic lenses, but its actually sturdier than it feels. It takes some effort to snap the pieces together when assembling this little unit and at first I feared that Id break it but nope. Despite how light it feels, it holds up very well to reasonable abuse. The other thing to keep in mind is that this isn't going to allow you to sit back in your easy chair and comfortably read your favorite book. This is a "strong" magnifying assistive device. For it to work well you will have to hold the reading source quite close to your face. For people who are practically blind, like my mother, this is a God send that gives her back an ability to see things she had stopped being able to see so she is quite happy to hold reading material up close to her face at this point. This little unit is not going to work very well at all for people who want to use it while lounging back on their couches with a book in their lap. This is much better used for seeing to make out/sign checks, pay bills, read menus, browse an important article in the paper maybe. The only major complaint that I have about this device is that it works for just one eye at a time. Id love to find a magnifier, even a hand held one, with 5x or even better 8x magnification that my mom could use with both eyes at once. But there seems to be no such animal out there like that. There are handheld magnifiers that sellers claim are 20x and 30x but such claims are complete and total lies. Every single one of those are lucky if they are 2x to 3x. It frustrates me that Amazon lets those sellers get away with such blatant false advertising. Remember that a 20x magnifier should make letters/words appear 20 times larger than they really are. You can see how ridiculous a claim of even just 20x for a hand held magnifier is.

Can’t see 2 feet away but the glasses work great up close
These glasses work great!! I just received mine the other day and tried them on. When looking around with the magnifying glasses on it’s tough to see 1.5-2 feet away but when looking up close these glasses work great. My mom tried them, she needs reading glasses and she could easily read everything on a small piece of paper but when she took off the glasses she couldn’t read anything. It would be nice if it was a little more magnified but these work great.

It Works!
The glasses are very useful for fine work. I repair old tube radios and they allow me to see what I'm doing on small components in tight spaces. Good buy.

Top choice, lower price
I've only just barely opened the package but its like Christmas morning because I wasn't anticipating to absolutely love this magnifier. A very simple design made of plastic and assembly even a monkey could put it together so no instructions are actually required. Priced at tube lower end if it gets broken just replace it. If you use prescription eyeglasses or reading glasses you will love the clip on feature and its mini universal joint you attach one of the two lenses too. I conclude in the mere half hour within my possession I would highly recommend it if youre sourcing out a magnifier of this kind or even s handled for rust matter. Feature absent is am LED light.
