Swirly caramel & tortoise color, just the right size
I hesitated before buying this clip because I have auburn hair and usually purchase tortoise hair accessories. I had purchased a 5.5" tortoise banana clip and although it stayed in my hair there seemed to be gaps at the top and bottom where there were no teeth and also no hair which looked odd to me so I wanted to try a shorter clip. This one is 4.5" and the teeth seem to go much closer to each end of the clip so there are not big gaps. I am very pleased with the clip that I received. Rather than a white or pearl color my clip is a caramel color by the hinge and then it becomes more clear with a hint of tortoise toward the clasp end, which is really the end that you see since the hinge is sort of buried under your hair. This clip really holds your hair with all of the teeth and yet is easy to fasten. Being a bit shorter than the majority of banana clips you see more hair and less clip. Caravan is a quality brand in hair accessories so I am hoping that this clip will last me a while. I can see myself using it frequently. I love having a single accessory that quickly and easily draws all of my hair back from face and up off my neck and keeps it there while also being attractive. Bravo! UPDATE: I liked the first clip so much that I bought a second one as a spare. It is just as beautiful and was carefully boxed to keep it safe in transit.

Almost Perfect
I actually like the color of mine...it's in medium brown tones, "resembling" tortoiseshell. So many of the other banana clips are too long, so I love the length and shape of this one. I deducted 1 star because it doesn't want to open very wide, and I'm afraid I'm going to break it by trying to open it wider, as it feels really tight at the joint. Because it doesn't (seem to) open all the way, the fact I have thick, heavy coarse hair it's awkward trying to get all of my hair in a ponytail, so I'll probably be using it to gather just the top and sides pulled back. It'll be interesting to see how long it lasts.

Received a slightly different clip
The clip I received is definitely a dull tan/brown, not cream. It also measures 5.25 inches, tip to tip, not 4.5 (the toothed part itself measures just under 4 inches on mine), which is a pretty significant difference if you tend more toward the mini-headed end of the spectrum, like I do. I suppose I can make it work for around the house, but probably won't be using it for anything else. Disappointing considering the price and what it is. I bought this to replace a similar clip that I bought at least 15 years ago for 99 cents, which lasted until a couple weeks ago, was a better color, and was around the same size this one was supposed to be. Womp.

Yeah, it's not the color shown in the photo. The actual clip is much closer to a caramel color. However, I just got it because I broke my old one and can't use regular ponytails in my hair, since they get stuck. It's durable and tough, holds my hair well and doesn't slide out. Hinge is a bit stiff, but that's my only complaint.

Looks like the picture in the Amazon website but it is smaller (3/4) than the one I had before. I like the color more than the one pictured. It is quite expensive; about four times what it should cost if they had it at the brick and mortar store which they do not.

It does stay in my fine permed hair
I thought it was longer 15cm or 6 inches, but it was less than 5 inches. For the money ($9) it wasn't worth it to me. I would return it, but it isn't worth the hassle. However, it is attractive. It does stay in my fine permed hair.

Good enough
I have fine, limp hair I am growing out. This clip might be a bit too heavy-duty for my hair as it keeps slipping out. But it's better than the options I had at my local drug store.

Not bad
I really like the size and shape of this clip because I can lean back without hurting my head, and it holds all my hair. The only thing that could be better is the closing mechanism, which is not as secure as I would like and tends to pop out occasionally.
