Broken twice
This came smash in the package I got another one. I wore it while on a trip I am glad that I took two other clips because this one broke it was the first time I had worn it.

Perfect, Perfect thick hair claw !!
Wish I could give this clip more than 5 stars. At last I have found the perfect hair clip for pulling my thick hair up on the back of my head and containing it comfortably. Other clips were big enough, but they simply did not open wide enough to slip over my hair while I was still holding on to it and keeping it all neatly twisted and bunched up. Then there was the monstrous Caraavan Triple Xxx clip that opened wide enough but would have posed a danger to anyone standing too close behind me. This lovely Caravan Hump Hair Claw sticks out only a modest amount and it opens super wide to make it easy even for someone fairly klutzy to apply successfully. I had promised myself I was going to stop buying hair clip after hair clip, but now that I have found the perfect clip, how can I be content with just one? Oh, and by the way, despite the description saying it is black, it is actually tortoise. Looks great in my auburn hair. I have read the other reviews about the spring not holding up. I just got mine tonight so I can't comment on its longevity quite yet.

OMG This holds ALL my hair
I have long, straight hair. It's very fine and delicate, but I have a bunch of it! The length varies between above my waist to at my waist. When I want to have my hair out of my wat, or protected from getting tangled, or a little more stylisg, I've tried to put it on top of my gead. My God, it takes forever and then, soon, t begins to hurt because it"s tugging and screaming at my scalp "I want to get down!" I'm so happy with this hair claw that I ordered a 2nd one for my purse. If you have a bunch of hair you want to corral, buy this product!

I like this large clip. The clamp spring and clip hold long hair in place without being too stiff to open with one hand.

BEST CLAMP EVER!
I'm have long, really THICK hair, and these hair claws have spoiled me to death!!! They are MORE than a match for my thick head of hair; they are durable; they are attractive; and they seem to last forever! I'm currently on my 2nd set. (My hair is so thick that I use TWO clamps at a time to hold it up.) I've never had one break at the "spring" where most other clamps I've ever used end up breaking. I did drop one of my clamps on a concrete floor several years, and it must have hit "just right" as a tooth broke off..........but I still use it! As far as I'm concerned, these are the ONLY clamps to buy if you have longer, thicker hair. They can get the job done!

Great for lots of thick hair
I was pleased with the size of this clip. I just found it to be a bit awkwardly shaped, as in it is narrow and tall and it really stuck far away from my head, so much so that it would tip over. So instead of the hinges being away from my head, they would move to being right next to my head, if that makes sense. It might work better for people with curly hair or doing certain kinds of hair styles. I think I need one where it allows the hair to spread out on the sides and has a flat base that sits next to the head.

Great sturdy clip for thick hair.
I've been trying for months to find a replacement for my favorite Goody clips that have been discontinued. This clip is very good. Big enough to hold a lot of hair. Solid and sturdy, which justifies the slightly higher price. I am very pleased with them.

Its pretty but really is for very thick hair. Even though it closes snugly and yes the teeth do poke your scalp a little. I am hoping I can use it when my hair is longer. It does appear sturdy.

Hmm, not great for my hair.
So, after reading so many positive reviews from people who describe themselves as having thick or long hair or both, I thought; ‘this is what I have been looking for. Surely this really is an extra large hair claw that will do the job.’ But nope. Another disappointing purchase for my hair. Honestly, how hard is it to find a claw big enough to hold my long, thick, straight and heavy hair?! The frustration is real. It really should work. It’s large. It looks strong enough. But unfortunately it needs to have longer claws and be about an inch longer altogether to be even close to collecting all of my hair. It just about manages to clasp my hair doubled up but doesn’t quite reach to grab the hair closest to my head. I end up with a looped bun on top and no real grip that holds it for any length of time. Eventually it just slips down and is ineffective. Much to my annoyance. So I use it cause it kinda works, and because I need it. But it’s disappointing.

Diese Haarkralle hält mein langes Haar perfekt und ist sehr einfach in der Anwendung. Ich benutze sie nun seit einigen Wochen und es ist noch nichts abgebrochen und die Feder sitzt noch wie zu Anfang. Haare hochnehmen Kralle rein und fertig! Wer ohne viel tam-tam eine lockere Hochsteckfrisur tragen möchte, sollte sich diese Haarkralle zulegen.

I've been trying to find a claw that will hold all of my hair due to the usual brand I use got closed down. I have alot of hair and long too (almost down to my hip). It has a decently strong grip. Unfortunately it still cant hold my hair ... but this claw itself is good. It arrived semi-damaged though. So dont expect anything fancy.
