Good for walking and for getting started with weight vests, rucking and home gym activities
I bought this 2 weeks back. For me the results have been very good . My wife & I walk up a hill nearby about 18 flights– it was getting boring . this weight vest adds quite a challenge for steep 10% grades. There are downsides of the low budget. It's filled with ~ 2 dozen small sandbags that are poorly built and will inevitably leak. I give it 6 mo with minimal impact or 2 mo with moderate impact. The sand itself is comfortable and mildly-compliant against your chest The weight is comfortable when standing still, but there is no compression to hold down the vest when jump-roping, jogging etc. So you are stuck walking . If that is your activity – like me – it's fine. Finally the torso straps are rigid which affects breathing. you have to tighten with a full inhale, but that means it is loose for much of your activity. One upside is using it for diaphram training. All together, with the right expectations it can really be worth it. Just put on a weight vest and walk up the hill. it's about the easiest exercise to motivate yourself to do. No driving, no sweating, no gear. You can do it in pajamas. For weight loss or restoring middling fitness levels, I call this a no brainer. YOu can get excellent results in weeks for just $35

VERY EASY TO LOAD THE WEIGHT - OBVIOUSLY IMPROVED
This just arrived and it is awesome! I felt compelled to write a review because I was worried about all the mixed reviews saying it took 20 minutes to load the weight packets. I loaded it in about 60 seconds. Obviously Cap heard the negative feedback and took it to heart because they slid perfectly into the pouches. It was something I was worried about but bought it anyway because the price was so low. I think I paid 32 bucks. (20 lbs model, April 2023) I'll rock this for a few months and invest in a heavier one if I like it, but so far the build quality seems good, design and fit are great and I walked around the neighborhood for a while and really liked the feel. i take daily walks in Vibrams or Xeros and want to up the ROI, but I feel like I could hike or do more crossfit type stuff in it and have it be secure.

20lbs is heavy than you think
Cool vest seems quality for the price. When I got this package I went to lift the box and was surprised at how heavy it was. I ordered the 20lb option. How it's weight seems to be sand bags and you can take some out to adjust the weight if you want. They loading the front and the back for eve weight distribution. I would have rated it five stars but it's a lot bigger and bulkier than it seems in the picture. I would recommend this to a friend.

Works as promised, but…
It’s a good vest, but the weights are made out of sand and are a little hard to put into there pockets on the vest… Also, put in the bottom weights on front and back first before you put in the top ones or else the bottom ones won’t fit.

Excellent
I use it while hiking. I’m only at 10 lbs but I feel it in my core and legs. It is much more comfy at10 lbs than the svelte four-pounder I was wearing before, and I use the pockets I haven’t weighted to store other things.

Too bulky
I got this for my husband’s birthday. He loves it, but in the back it is a little too bulky, even if you don’t put any weight in it.

Update: Broke after 15 uses, but seller was responsive
UPDATE: As you can see from below description, a couple of the seams in the vest started to unravel with just 15 or so uses. However, I contacted the seller, and they sent me a replacement vest which seems to be holding up pretty well. As a result, I have updated my review to reflect: a responsive seller who stands by its product; a well-built and solid vest, with well-designed weight pockets that should last a long time. I can recommend this vest now. Aside from the initial quality control issues/problems I experienced, I think it's still the best weight vest I can find for a reasonable price. Original writeup is below; downgrade to one star due to the following: I used it only about 15 times and using only 30 lbs of the maximum 40 lbs capacity, and you can see from the attached pictures that the vest is already starting to fall apart. I've only used it for walking on my treadmill indoors, and you can see that it just doesn't seem to be very well made. I am writing the seller/manufacturer and will update this based on their response. If it's not favorable, my one star downgrade remains. Hopefully they'll do the right thing since I only bought it four months ago and it's received very light usage. In the mean time I DO NOT recommend it. OK, got that off my chest. I'll be 61 years old soon, hence, a senior citizen, AKA "an old man" as my daughters sometimes call me. I bought the vest to round out the equipment I have in my home gym. I wanted something I could adjust the weight on, and wear while working in my yard, around the house, or walking on my treadmill. Some say this chafes, but it really doesn't. Not if you wear a shirt. Of course it'll chafe if you wear it bare against your skin because it is solidly built, with very good seams, and heavy duty quality materials. The weights that came with it (I got the 40 pound vest) where all in the box, and they fit PERFECTLY into the various pockets for them. So this tells me two things: 1. The manufacturing tolerances for both the vest and the individual weight packs are precise, and demonstrative of good quality construction; and, 2. It's going to take a little bit of patience and care when you're putting the weights in. Taking them out is no problem. And putting them in is no problem either if you follow this advice: Start by putting the ones at the front and/or back bottom row in first while you're holding up the vest with one hand, or propped up against something; then move on to putting weights in the top row of the vest. This makes it so much easier and makes the job quick. It doesn't smell. But since I wear a cotton shirt underneath it while I'm working out, I think eventually some of the sweat may work it's way into the vest, at which point a light hand soaking/wash may be recommended. But this is normal for anything that comes into contact with the human body. It's a great buy and fits perfectly on my 5' 7", 145 pound frame.

Awesome
This is so easy to use. I put the amount of weight that I want in the vest. I'm working on getting healthy this year and this really helps when I'm walking.

Amazing price
I don't get the pricing for these, the 50lb version was slightly more and the 60 and 70 lb was a lot more. So the 80-lb was the cheapest. Which is great! Not complaining, but weird. That aside, at this price, even if the vest was trash, it was worth it. Finding just pure weight at that cheap is nearly impossible. So the warnings people gave seemed silly. I don't expect the vest to last me years. It's going to be used and abused. There's only so much that fabric shoulders can do when carry that much weight. So far, it's been perfect. Not as bulky as I was thinking after reading reviews. The 80lb version is very tight. An issue I have is lifting it over my head, with full weight. SO I have to take weights out to get it on, then it's too tight to put the weight back in. This is fine, as I was upgrading from wearing two vests with a combined 55lb weight, I didn't need to go straight to 80. So it just adds another strength workout. The shoulder comfort is what you would expect. It didn't dig in and fairly well distributed. But at high weight, it chafes after a while. But again, the weight will do that. The extra impact on my joints at 72 lbs is a lot. So I am thinking I will use it at 64 lbs. (it came with 20 x 4lb bags). To use the full 80lbs, I would need a system that puts some on my waist. But that's not the vests fault. All-in-all, the vest is perfect. I can upgrade, slowly, adding weight as I can. It fits under my winter jacket, so I can brave -20, if they decide to plow side walks. And it adjusts easily. Very satisfied.

Well made gear!
I have been using this gear for a month now; every other day. LIKES: It is well made and designed for the type of workouts that I do. Although it is supposedly intended or, designed for a woman, it fits comfortably well on a man. It feels very comfortably while doing the stair-master and, it is not too bad while doing interval training on the Treadmill. The weights are well made and fit just great in their individual pockets. As well, 30 lbs are more than enough weight for this vest and/or, any workout; it also has room available to add more weight if needed. DISLIKES: Not as much as a dislike but, as a point to improve. It could use a small holder/pocket on either side of the shoulder strap, to hold a small MP3, iPod or Cell phone in case the individual wants to listen to music during the workout/walk. I definitely like and recommend!

Perfect to fit, great to improve resistance (and burn extra calories????)
The vest fits perfectly a woman's torso. I like the fact that it comes with 10 3lb solid weights (you can place 4 on the front and 6 on the back): this way you can choose how many to carry depending on the activity (walking, running, working out, etc.). I'm happy with the material and finishing of the vest as well. High five to Amz customer service: they fixed an issue with the shipment at my first phone call.

Good build quality
I'm a man but 30lbs is what I wanted so I bought it, feels solid, wears comfortable, I climbed 18th floor with it X 4, very good workout for the legs, will try pull up with it soon.

Nice vest however a couple issues Pros
Nice vest however a couple issues Pros: - lots of weight for the price - sturdy construction, the vest will survive war - looks nice - padded shoulder straps, my 30 pound from another brand digs more into the shoulder than this one at 80 pounds Cons: - too long... it gets into the tighs while doing lunges - weight packs are tiny material - pockets to fit the weight packs are not full length, which means that the bottom of the packs is somewhat exposed. not issue while wearing it, but at 80lbs it could be an issue when dropping it on the floor. basically the pockets are empty tubes with a strap stopping the weight packs from falling at the bottom Finally the weight pack are a very tight fit, this is both a cons and a pro. it doesnt move, but it makes adjusting the vest a non trivial operation. do not expect removing weight from the back or adding any while wearing it
