Great size for smaller hikes
This pack is great for hikes that dont require packing meals. the small pockets available are big enough to carry some snacks and possibly a regular sized sandwhich but nothing larger than that. the water pack is superb along with its adjustable hose. I love this thing just wish it was a tad bit cheaper for what it does.

Great pack for bike rides, short hikes and more
First of all, let me say that same day shipping by Amazon ROCKS! Secondly, this pack is awesome in every way. This is my second CamelBak (I have a smaller Thermobak 2L) and love it as well but needed a bag that has some pockets to store extra stuff like cell phone, tools, keys and small snacks. I really could not find any pictures of the pockets on the CamelBak website so I took a few here to show what it has to offer. The 3L bladder is easily removable through the top hole by pulling on the fill handle, which is a nice feature. You can also gain access to the quick release tube connector through the zipper on the side. This is my first experience with a huge fill opening so I can imagine tossing some ice in there on hot summer days. The two pockets are also very nice. The top one I can see using for wallet, keys and cell phone (I was able to fit my Galaxy S9 with huge case in there with no problem). The bottom pocket is seemingly large and it expands out so you can fit quit a bit in there. It houses two mesh stretch dividers and a clip. The exterior of the bottom pocket has MOLLE cutouts so you can add more attachments if you like. The overall feel of this bag is very sturdy and would seem to withstand plenty of abuse, its very rugged. There seems to be some nice padding on the backside and the front that houses the bladder. All of the straps are adjustable in length and the chest strap has a bungie side to relieve some pressure. There is also a pocket on the back that you could slide some papers like maps and park passes in for safe keeping. CamelBak never disappoints and for the price point and features this pack offers is a no brainer!

My boyfriend won’t shut up about it ????
I purchased this for my boyfriend who is ex navy & let me just say, he takes this everywhere with him. I initially bought it because we were going to Disneyland which was perfect!! He filled it with ice & water and it kept him cool all day, carried what we needed in the pockets & we didn’t have to carry drinks with us. Now he brings it on every walk with the dogs because he squirts the water in their mouths to keep them hydrated too ???? The quality is amazing, he loves the sturdiness & how it feels military grade. I highly reccomend! He says this is the best gift I’ve given him in 4 years ❤️

Fantastic, but odd buckle
Great pack for water. Good size, love the color, and the Crux system is fantastic. I have the same system on my other (and huge) camelback pack. Got this to throw in the canoe for weekend trips. Solo in moderate temps over a long weekend, 3L did just fine for my dehydrated meals, morning tea, and drinking water. I also discovered the connection fits directly onto the output of my Katadyn hiker Pro filter. Bonus. If I had a complaint (so minus just the one star) - it's the buckle. To open the lower pocket zipper, you need to unbuckle the strap. To open the upper pocket, you need to unbuckle the strap, and that pocket has two zippers - one on each side. You wonder why that strap is even there. If you figure it is possible to lift the upper pocket flap and the zippers just undo themselves, ok... that makes sense, but why attach the lower end of the strap so it's in the way of opening the bottom pocket? We may never know. Overall love it despite the odd strap and the premium price.

Not my Favorite
I’ve owned a few camelbaks, this was not my favorite. Not enough pockets and almost too large for lack of storage ability.

Good quality, too expensive for an import
Overall I'm happy with the Ambush. It's just the right size for a few essentials and water. The build quality of the pack is really nice. The biggest negative in my mind is its made in Mexico but priced as if it were made in USA. Being made in Mexico is not a bad thing and I am glad they are not made in China. The price should reflect being made with lower cost labor.

Great pack
Holds plenty of water and is very comfortable on long hikes. I thought there would be a little more storage which is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. Otherwise, the connections are sturdy and easy to take apart and clean.
