Almost a 5 star
It's accurate enough for my work. I would have liked the machining to be a tad better. I had a better, overall, quality unit years ago but sadly can't recall the manufacturer. Still, I would recommend for anyone that needs to align things, whether on a drill press or router or what ever.

The machining is very good - clean and precise
Well made gauge. The machining is very good - clean and precise. It is unbelievable that no other company makes one of these. It is an absolute must to be able to center a router bit to a work piece on a router table. I need to center a 1" round nose bit and have been going crazy trying to find the most efficient and accurate way to do it without having to waste time going through trial and error on a piece of scrap to set the fence properly.

Well made
This device can help locate a metal device so that it can be clamped to a drill press. That minimizes or eliminates a wandering drill bit during drilling.

it is my fault. the pin is not useful for any bit in a 1/4 inch collet if the cutting portion of the bit is 1/4 inch. in other words I was going to use it to center an upspiral 1/4 inch bit in a jig made for the 1/4 cutting bit, unfortunately the 1/2 inch part of the centering gauge will not go down into the 1/4 inch hole in the jig. i should have realized this problem sooner by studying the picture a bit more carefully. ha. jan

Simple, accurate, and works great.
This thing works beautifully for quickly lining up to drill, route, center-find, you name it. Used it again yesterday when I had a timing chain cover to re-drill and tap larger. For real accuracy, I use an edge/center finder on a cross-slide table.. But for quick, regular-joe daily stuff, you can't beat this (clamps and a drill press).

a nice tool to have
centering gauge is ideal for a visual to get your route lined up ,especially when using an edge guage. i have used this to do elongated slots ,drill a 1/4 in hole and use this to position the piece an set the fence. I have used this at least a dozen times in the three weeks i have owned it . finish is excellent.....you can not go wrong

Blunt tip and Not as accurate as it should be
Bought this to accurately setup routing guides in relation to router centre point but it’s accuracy is not that good. Put it in my drill to check the tip is concentric but this is some wobble at the tip, the shaft seems ok. The tip itself is blunt and poorly formed so I’ll have to spin it in a router at low speed and polish it to be consistently concentric and sharp using wet and dry paper. Not what I expected to have to do but it is what it is

Really rough machining. Not very accurate.
Poor workmanship. Really rough machining. Maybe good enough for a carpenter, but not a machinest??
