Camp Coffee Hack!!!
My oldest is a boy scout and my youngest is still a cub so presently we camp 12-15 weekends a year plus winter and summer camps. I am one of the adult leaders in the scout troop. We are a 'fast and light' troop as opposed to the troops that camp out of a truck box. If you cannot carry it in your backpack or on your person then you don’t need it in the woods, that is how we operate. As the leaders in the troop we practice what we preach. But I need my coffee in the mornings! Prior to finding these I just took a ziplock full of coffee and a french press that I hoped wouldn’t get broke in my pack! I tried coffee filters and dental floss in the past and it never really worked all that well…filters need that basket to flow well and all tied up they just didn’t work well. I know Stanley makes a steel press but its heavy and its only 16oz which mean more like 12-13 oz of coffee and that enough for rank amateurs but not me. GSI makes a 30oz plastic one but it’s a little spendy and I have my doubts as to its durability long term. Both of those options are single purpose items as well. Fast and light. I like to limit my single use items as much as I can. These are great to that end. I fill them with the required amount of coffee for a single serving (think the amount you need for French press brewing plus half a scoop) and seal them shut. I heat a chefs knife on the stove and use the non-edged side to seal them against the counter. I hear an iron is a good idea as well but I don’t know if I want to risk getting caught by SWMBO ' Make as many as I will need for the camp in question and off we go. Boil the water I need for breakfast plus coffee. Empty the water out for the oatmeal (usually) and then throw the bag in the pot and 5 minutes later…coffee! These are bio-degradable so you could toss them and not feel bad about it or put them in your trash bag after breakfast and a good boot press in the dirt to squeeze out some more water. I find one of the size 4 bags will hold four rounded scoops which works just fine for me and gives me about 20oz of brew…what you get in a large at most places.

Easiest way to brew loose tea
I love the taste of tea brewed from loose tea, but I never found an infuser I was willing to use. These bags solved the problem. They don't interfere with the taste of the tea and are so easy to use. The bags don't break down and split. I have been using them for 10 years. Love it.

Excellent disposable one-use teapot filters that simplifies cleanup for me when making one pot of tea
I love tea and have a lot of tea infusers but have become lazy as I get older. These disposable bags allow me to make one pot of tea (up to 10 cups) and then just throw out the bag without having to dump an infuser and wash it. Although I have automatic teapots with their own infusers, sometimes I just want to use one of my regular ceramic teapots. I just fill the filter with enough tea for the size pot I am using and then hang this inside the pot by using the teapot's lid to keep the top half of the filter in place and closed. I make sure a piece of the filter sticks out between the secured lid and the teapot. Since there is no way to close the filter, this method is necessary to keep the leaves in the bag. I learned this from watching my German friends who use these regularly. These filters also are made in Germany. I purchased the 400 count which comes in four 100 count boxes as shown. Since there are four separate boxes, they can be gifted to other tea lovers as well if 400 is too much for one person. The price I paid on Amazon was $18.22 which I consider a good deal especially since the price went up $7.48 since last week.

Have used for many years
Still like them. I only brew loose tea, and do use a strainer most of the time. One of my flavored teas is powdery, this assures me that the tea is clear without little bits.

They do exactly what you want them to. Excellent
I switched from teabags to loose tea a few years back, and these T-sacs are indispensable. 4 teaspoons (or there abouts) of your favorite loose leaf tea in a decent size tea-pot. Add just off the boil water ad let brew. 10 minutes later you have a wonderful golden brown brew of perfection. Or at least you do if you backup the T-sac with good tea. I recommend Brooke Bond Taj Mahal, I buy it at my local Indian grocer, but you can get it here on Amazon. It's a very nice, and mild black tea that stands up on it's own, with lemon or milk, hot or cold, sweet or not. However, the t-sac is absolutely the best companion. I have tried other tea filters and they are smaller and the paper they are made of is denser and seems to prevent a full brew or infusion of the tea. t-sac are larger allowing the tea room to expand as the water penetrates the leaves and carries the flavors away. The bag itself seems very good at allowing the brewing process to happen, and the result never fails to please. Of course using a t-sac makes the use of loose leaf tea far easier, and clean-up is a breeze since you simply dispose of the used t-sac. No trying to gather all the leaves, no rinsing and rinsing just to clear the old leaves out. These are a definite buy for any tea lover.

Smooth smooth coffee
Fights Cholesterol! Well, we have often heard that coffee must be filtered in order to fight cholesterol. (My very well respected internal medicine doctor encourages me to drink about 3 cups a day to fight cholesterol and diabetes, which I don't have, thankfully). Thus I put my regular Maxwell House "original" into these #4 T-Sac bags AND then put the T-Sac into a larger French Press drawstring filter bag (also from Amazon), tie it shut, and drop it into my 2qt Ball jar with filtered cool water and make smooth, tasty cold-brew coffee overnight (I just leave it out on the counter). Very smooth even after warming in the microwave. I use 1/2 cup grounds in 40 ounces water; this is apparently just a tad stronger than TV chef Pioneer Woman's cold brew, per what she said in one episode.
