The price is getting out of control for these things
Does the job. I use for purigen. Does not last for very many bleach rejuvenations. The price is climbing way too fast for these bags on Amazon. They can be bought elsewhere for $4 and change per pack of two. Just Google them.

Yes works for Purigen. Handle with care, soft brittle bags. Worth it though.
So far, this bag holds the Seachem Purigen just fine. The mesh is much much finer than the smallest bead of Purigen. I have used Seachem's The Bag and Seachem's 100 ml Purigen that has its own bag. Background story: I was not so smart and decided to let the bags roam around in the return pump compartment of the sump and the bags got destroyed when it entered the pump intake. Now I have Purigen flowing around all over my tank and corals. Been a chore to siphon them out. So that is what compelled me to buy another bag and another bottle of Purigen. I came across this and most reviews say it works. I can attest to that. You can see from the photos how fine the mesh really is. You have to look very close to see the little holes in the mesh. And the great thing about this bag is it does not trap air bubbles! You can see i placed it at the top of my filter media section. With the other bags, as the water falls on the bag, air bubbles get trapped and causes the bag to float. Not this one! This ensures all the water passes through the Purigen. However, nothing is perfect. In my opinion, i feel that bag is not "heavy duty". Compared to Seachem's bag, they feel thin, very soft, and brittle. Something like a sharp finger nail can get caught and rip a hole in them. As long as you are careful in handling them, they should last a long time. Buy some spares in case or even double bag your media. I bought two packs so I have three as back up.

Great fine mesh, fine thread, light weight smaller media bag.
Great fine mesh, fine thread, light weight smaller media bag. I love it yet it gets many negative reviews. Personally I think many of those folks should have bought "The Bag" instead. They were trying to buy an economical media bag for purigen and for one reason or another was disappointed. I have 3 each of The Bag and if you are handling purigen that is what you should use. I mean honestly on one review the person did not like the tie wrap, thought it should have the same type as The Bag has. REALLY, I disagree and like it just the way it is. When I need to replace the tie wrap I use tiny rubber bands like orthodontist use which I bought on Amazon. Cheap Easy Simple Reuseable and did I mention cheap. Sometimes I use the IKEA 700.832.52 Bevara Sealing clip which I find perfect when you don't want the end bunched up, twisted or waded up whatever term you use. I don't like big media bags, I like this one and it is my "go to" choice. I think this is the four package I have ordered in 6 months.

Wow!
I've been dealing with a cloudy 55 gallon aquarium since early November. I've done multiple partial water changes and using activated charcoal and purigen in my filter but, the water had remained cloudy. Even tried Accu-Clear and that didn't help either. Finally I remember reading about high density filter pads and decided to try out this product. I cut out two pads and placed them in my Eheim filter last Saturday and this morning (Thursday) I woke up to a crystal clear aquarium! So happy I tried these pads out. For less than $15, it was well worth it!

Okay, but not the best...
I bought these because reviews said it was great for purigen and because of the price. I have 4 tanks that need 1 bag of purigen and 1 tank that needs 4, so at $5 for 2 bags compared to The Bag, what deal, right? I think for the larger tank that needs 4 bags (it's a 400 gallon filter), I'll find a different bag or just shell out the money for The Bag. Sadly, the zip ties are just that, zip ties (someone said they're reusable, I guess if you want to sit there and fight with it for a few hours...). While The Bag has reuseable/releasable zip ties. Why such a dealbreaker? When the purigen needs to be recharged, it sits in bleach. I don't need the bags to be weakened or eaten away, waste of money. The purigen does come out of the bag, if enough force/pressure is used. Maybe not enough to worry some, but with my larger filter, call me paranoid. The mesh is fine, but not that fine. Also, I did receive one bag with both ends open, not horrible just a bummer. All in all, great for my smaller canister filters, power filters, and fluval spec.

They hold Purigen without any coming out!!
These work great, I put in 1/4 cup of Purigen and twisted the bag and ran the bag back over it, effectively doubling it, then used the provided zip tie to close it off, worked like a charm. I didn't want to cut the bag. I will be able to empty the bag and refill in the future, just need to buy a bunch of the tiny zip ties to prepare for that down the road, I'm impressed that NO purigen came out.

Buy these if you're going to use Purigen. They're perfect.
These are perfect for Purigen! $4.95 for a two pack (at the time of my purchase) when Seachem's The Bag is $10.51 each. Good size to go in the filters I'm dealing with (10 gallons up to a 55 gallon Decorative ReptoFilter) and hold a very very large amount of Purigen, more than you'll even need to put in your tank so don't worry about these being too small. I haven't had any problems with Purigen escaping from the bag, the mesh is extremely fine. They come with little cable ties which seal tightly but can be opened again without cutting the tie or the bag if you need to. I use these for Seachem Matrix as well, and I'm sure they'd be ideal for any other filter media. Perfect.

There are better bags out there
This was just a couple of small, cheap bags with zip ties - could not hold purigen. You'd be better off just using pantyhose, to be honest. Not worth the money. Boyd needs to seriously improve the quality of these. Right now they are a waste of money and I wish I had just returned them.
