This set is made from a high quality foam material, it is not hard plastic. It's not flimsy or easy to destroy, it's very high quality materials. You have to punch out the pieces so be very careful to NOT accidentally throw any pieces out during that process because it can get confusing at times with all these pieces. It cleans easy so dirty hands won't hurt it and it's overall better than the standard hard plastic toys because it won't damage anything or hurt anyone if thrown or dropped. They construct really well and stay together nicely so they are quite functional. You have room for a lot of creativity when it comes to putting it all together and we have tried all the different designs and the kids can create "custom" creations too. Putting the designs together is not hard at all but it does take a little time, depending on the age and participation level of the child. Overall it's well worth purchasing because it will be played with and it is a quality item. 4 stars.

Nice Material
We’ve experimented with just about every type of building set except Bloco, so it was overdue. I was immediately taken with the material. I was not expecting this soft foam. This material certainly won’t hurt your feet when you step on these pieces! It was a bit of a letdown having to punch out all the pieces before we could play with the toy, but it was worth it. My kids sometimes get frustrated with Legos, particularly the smaller bricks, trying to get them together securely or take them apart. Since the foam has give, it was a snap for them to put pieces together. My box was partially scotch taped, for some reason, but otherwise the set was intact and new. Regardless, my kids really enjoyed this set. I would certainly recommend it!

Great for kids 7+
I wasn't expecting this item to be a thick foam material, but however it works for the item. I was a but overwhelemed by all the different pieces that you have to punch out, especially because there were some cuts outs inside other pieces and it is hard to determine if you need them or they are throw away pieces. Immediately, I punched out all the pieces, picked a design, and began working. I found it quite easy to assemble the design, the directions were easy to follow. However, I will say that, the finished product is great for ages 3/4+, but the design portion should be reserved for those 7+. I will say that the foam will protect any glass tables or other furniture from being scratched up.

there are a lot of pieces. the instructions are pretty straight forward, but the pieces are not organized in the kit so you'll spend more time finding them than building (at least the first time). if your child likes building, this is perfect. sturdy enough to tear down multiple times to rebuild as another version of itself. it's definitely a game you're going to give to your kid to keep them occupied, plenty of time is needed to construct these!

Want an alternative to LEGOs?
The Good: -Fun for kids -3 in 1 so different options for building -Challenging -Soft design so if you have delicate furniture this might be a good toy The Bad: -None The Bottom Line: Our 6 year old child had a lot of fun building the formula 1 car. He especially liked pushing out all the foam pieces. All the pieces come in a foam sheet that needs to be pushed out. The instructions were easy to follow but it was still challenging for him. The car actually rolls so he rolls it around the house. Since it’s a soft foam design, it’s nice when he runs it into walls and furniture. Overall I would recommend this toy as a good alternative to LEGOs. **Disclosure: I received a sample product from the Amazon Vine program for an honest and unbiased review.

Fun Build.
There is a some prep work involved (popping out all of the pieces from the foam sheets), but it's a fun build. The foam seems fairly sturdy and it connects together with round plastic ball-type connectors that fit into the holes of the foam. The directions are pictures and easy to follow/understand. You can pick from 3 different vehicles to build, 1 at a time. There are some color options, in a few of the pieces, to offer a little customization. There are leftover parts, so put them in a zipper bag until you're ready to build something else.

PATIENCE
The media could not be loaded. This model car was a very time consuming project. You will need much patience, even the directions tell you that you may need to take a break and return. There are different vehicles to choose from to build, and I believe we chose the most tedious. Once it was finished, appropriately 3hrs later it looked nice. But the process was very frustrating.(Excuse my messy bed spread, my kids had just came in and out their nasty hands/food all in it.????)
