Loyal, Ride or Die Partner In Routing

This collet fit my Porter Cable 6902 router perfectly. It has been a tried and true partner in my various adventures with routing. If you're looking for a new collet friend this may be the one for you!

It does not fit Rockler wrench

While the original Porter Cable collet fits Rockler wrench perfectly, this replacement is too big and it won't fit the wrench. I have to return it.

A Great Addition

I have used my Porter Cable 7518 Routers for many years, but I have only had the 1/2" collets that came with them. Recently I bought this 1/4" adapter, and it works perfect. I have quite a few 1/4" router bits that I use with my palm router, and now they are available to use on my Porter Cables. This was a good purchase that works perfectly.

This collet does not fit porter cable 690 as indicated in the product info..

this collet is slightly smaller that original and cannot be tightened to hold the router bit properly. i put a micrometer on it and it is maybe 2-3 hundreths smaller. personal injury can result as the bit can come out when the router is running.

WARNING! Bit migrates out

Not a suitable replacement for the Porter Cable 690 router. Even though I tightened the collect it again the router bit migrates out good thing I noticed before it came out completely. The item description did include the 690 model so I’m not sure why this is happening maybe the tolerances are not to spec.

Bits slip - do not buy

It needs to do one thing, hold the bit. It fails. No matter how hard you tighten it, the bit will slip. This is a dangerous collet. It goes in the trash.

Doesn't hold 1/4 bits as shipped.

I had to grind 1mm off the base of the collet because it was bottoming out in the taper (preventing it from tightening around the 1/4" shaft). After that modification I was able to use the collet. Another problem, my porter cable wrenches don't fit, I used an adjustable wrench.

Collet does not sit properly in router

Collet is too long and does not sit properly in router (sits on router internal surface). Impossible to tight enough so endmill loosens after couple of seconds.
