recommendation for General tools pin vice.
I use this type tools a lo in my clock repairs. These are a little more expensive than some alternates, but these are well worth it. very well made. The gnarling is deep making them very nice to use and lock a bit tight.

Not As Advertised
I'd like to note at the start what I received was not a product manufactured by General Tools. First the finish is rough and the plating comes off on your fingers when you try to use the tool. I got a metal splinter I'm still trying to get out of my index finger. The collet's are not made of a hardened metal and bend rather than return to their original shape. Tightening the chuck is impossible as the threads are very poorly stamped rather then cut. I've owned the General Tools 92 Swivel Head Pin Vise before and found it to be a quality tool. This is not. I will be requesting a refund.

Very handy tool
I used this pin vise right out of the box to install pin hinges on my model planes. Works flawlessly. I only wish it came with some drill bits, but I had plenty on hand.

Breaks easily.
Upon arrival seemed like an alright product. But when i put a drill bit in it and went to tighten the chuck it twisted the threads right off and os now useless. Didnt even get to use it once.

Good tool for the price.
Reversible chuck has a side for tiny drills (< 1/16" or so if you bend the prongs out just a wee bit) and is reversible; the other side appears to accepts something along the line of a Dremel (tm) bit. I have had some difficulty tightening the bits enough to work on material harder than e.g. balsawood. The knurled finish is pretty coarse--coarser, I would say, than would improve grip and into the range of germinating early blisters if you use it very much. It's well constructed and the wheely-wheel on the end spins freely, alleviating a pet peeve of mine. I would rather have a reversible chuck that accepts larger bit sizes and a less aggressive knurl, but basically a solid tool. LATER: I am a bonehead and as such didn't notice that this pin vise is dually reversible--it has 2 double-ended chucks that grip bits ranging from wee-tiny to about 1/8" or a little larger. The rotating end cap on the top of the drill doesn't turn all that smoothly, so I discovered the second set of chucks when the back end came off while drilling a hole. Thus chagrined, I am adding that this tool is basically sound with the caveat that, like a lot of similar tools, the rotating end cap could be smooooooother. That said, popping it off and adding a little graphite made it some better with the result that I am now fully satisfied.

Junk
This review is for the General 92 pin vice. First of all, it's aesthetically cheap. The swivel head has metal burs sticking out of its side. The size of the drill bit that I needed to use was too wide in diameter to fit in the smallest collet, yet slid out of the second smallest collet despite my mighty attempt at tightening it (which then required the help of locking pliers to unscrew). So I tried another size drill bit. This worked, but as I was holding down the swivel head and turning the tool, the upper compartment for the extra collet unscrewed (also requiring mighty tightening). I finally just put the drill bit that I originally wanted into my trusty rotary tool and turned it by hand, as this was a delicate job that a power tool was too strong for. It gets two stars instead of one only because it did manage to hold the one drill bit.

Pin drill with swivel head
Drill received in good order. It comes with a double size collet. Drill is very impressive and looks like it will meet all my needs for small drills.
