Can't use it as a hammer tacker, you have to be gentle or it will pop open and lose all the staples.
As a siding contractor that installs a ton of house wrap, I need a hammer tacker that I can smack on the wall swiftly and with some oomph. I cannot do that with this tacker. I have to use it gingerly or the back pops open and all of the staples fall out. However, when using it gingerly, the staples don't set in all the way, so all in all, this is useless. I will try to find a way to keep the thing shut and keep using it. The good thing is that it is very light, and it did withstand a fall from 20 feet to the soft muddy ground. Until they fix the issue, I would not recommend buying this hammer tacker.

Lightweight Stapler w/Interesting Magazine
Lightweight, but still heavy enough to fully seat 1/2"-5/8" staples. Hopefully the magnesium holds up!

Almost perfect but real close
- Made in China - Uses T50 staples, 3 sizes - Comes in a hellacious pkg I barely got it out of - Loader about 10" long - Nice heavy spring top This feels very solid. The red grip area is some sort of firm rubber-type thing. It could be thicker but it does help reduce shock. I could use a bit more/thicker, but it's definitely an improvement over all metal. There's no info that comes with this but it isn't rocket science. You can see where the staples go in, you can see where they come out, so load it accordingly. This is very sturdy and does have some weight but it's lighter than it looks. I expected it to be quite a bit heavier. For myself, it's great just not perfect. I think it's worth considering, especially if your hands aren't as wussy as mine. Non-Intuitive Staple Loading, But OK Other Than That
I considered giving this 3 stars for two reasons: 1) it doesn’t come with staples so you can get going right away – you have to go buy some (or have some on hand already). 2) once I had staples, loading them wasn’t very intuitive and I got a nasty, painful cut on my thumb from trying to load them. After figuring out where they go and using it I’ve found it’s a good stapler. As long as you swing it with sufficient force it sinks the staples nicely and it’s easy to swing. The rubber grip is comfortable and it has a decent weight to it, so you don’t feel like it’s going to break easily. Is it worth the $40 it costs? Well, I’d like to see it a little less expensive, but I suppose that price is about on par these days. 4 stars.

great after a few swings to get used to it
Works well so far. Took a few tries to get use to it and where to hit to get the staples where I want them. After that it's easy to go through a box of staples in a hurry. Needs a good hard swing to get the staples to sink in full depth. Really hammer with it if using 3/8 or longer staples. Handle has a good feel and even after getting sweaty, still able to keep a good grip on it.

Takes a beating - Load staples from the bottom
I used this Tack Hammer for stapling plastic to the underside of a shed roof deck after installing mineral wool insulation and I probably went through at least 500 staples. I had about 75% acceptable tack rate, which is probably on account of me holding the tack hammer incorrectly, but I'm not sure. I don't know if it is designed for this, but I would turn it around and use the back side as a hammer to sink the shallow staples. There were no instructions and I had a very difficult time loading the T50 staples...until I figured out that it loads from the bottom (turn the tool over and drop the staples in with the pointy end up) instead of along the rail at the end of the handle. The hammer is light, but the weight of the staples when fully loaded is noticeable. I'm undecided about the weight because I could swing the hammer faster, but I had a lot miss hits (stapled in the plastic instead of the wood studs) because my aim was off (I was doing this laying either on my back in the loft area or on a ladder). With other tack hammers that I've used with more mass (weight) I utilized the mass of the tool for a good fastening.
