Works awesome for string algae!
I have a lot of string algae and have reverted to hand pulling it out. My old net broke and I bought this one, and was really happy at how well it pulls out the string algae. The fingers/tines help "grab" the algae so I can keep the pond clean without getting in.

Perfect
This was a gift for my shark tooth and shell hunting mother in law. She loves it and it does what is supposed to do!

This pond tool has really helped me to maintain our water garden & it's never looked better!
I had tons of 'seaweed' in the pond that was difficult to remove with my garden rake & skimmer tools. Now, with the Pond Shark I can reach much farther into the pond & scoop out nets-full of 2 different types of 'sea-weed'. The only caveat I would make is that you need to be careful not to overfill the net. I bought the longer handled Pond Shark because of the size of our pond, so I scoop, pull the net open side up to the side of the pond and then lift close to the edge to test the weight. Once most of the water has fallen away from the net, I can safely swing it to my 'dump' zone before flipping it over to empty the contents. As we have salamanders with gills, frogs & small goldfish, I always check the contents of the weed for living amphibians/fish. I have accidentally caught dozens but have always found them in time to release back into the pond. Did I mention the pond has never looked better? Well, in addition, it's never smelled better either! I'm quite happy with this purchase. I didn't star durability because I haven't had it long enough.

convoluted tightening design of telescopic poles
I'll use it till it breaks cause it was expensive, but a few grips....I guess someone complained about packaging because now this very lightweight net comes in an appliance sized box.....careful what you ask for. the package pirates must've been salivating when they saw this box, not knowing a pond net was inside. As for sturdiness, its ok, and probably won't bend if you pick up a netful of wet leaves. The net fabric is not my favorite perhaps on the stiffer side at the joint seams which like many a net out therre makes flip-dumping it laborious requiring several flips before it empties and flipping a net multiple times full of leaves on a long pole can def be a workout. There are nets with less stiff but durable fabric that some empty evenly, this is not one of them. The scoop and rake parts I've yet to test out, but its not exactly beefed up as I dig deep trying to justify the price. In fact, I don't see anything of exceptionally high-quality on this net that might justify the astronomical pricetag. Most of these i'll let pass cause most of my other nets are comparable, but the one design flaw that makes me want to chunk it is the absolute moronic redesign of the standard time tested (if it ain't broke....) grip & twist tightener for extending or shortening the telescoping pole in pole system. Someone thinking they could reinvent the wheel and improve upon that along with the someone who bought into it, both, really never tried it out. It doesn't consistently tighten and only tightens some of the time when fully extended, so in effect it kinda tightens some of the time in only two extreme positions fully extended and fully retracted. I have no idea what mechanics are in play here but it is a fail and def not worthy of a patent. Just being honest

Extremely durable and efficient
I was hesitant to purchase this because it was a bit pricey, but I’m glad I did. My only regret is purchasing the smaller size. I have a small pond but with the smaller sized net I purchased it’s still not long enough. This cut the amount of time I’d waste cleaning algae, debris, leaves, etc from my fish pond by 3x.

Very sturdy & does the job
Got this at the end of the season & only used it a couple of times. It telescopes easily & twist locks snugly. This thing feels rugged & well made. I see myself using it for years to come

Great! … and bad
Overall this is a solid telescoping net. It does a great job. The plastic rings to secure the net length are cheap and break. Somehow the net still holds its length okay but the black external rings break in half and are useless. There must be an internal way the length gets locked based on rotating it. Overall it works and it works well. I’m not sure how long it’ll last me though.

Really like it but only one problem
I have a medium sized pond at about 10 X 14 feet. It is netted to prevent predators and leaves from entering the pond. The tool allows me to reach anywhere in the pond to clean the netting or to reach through the netting to adjust or remove items in the water. Great reach, good construction, light weight but strong and very, very handy. The only reason i did not rate it 5 stars is that the telescoping segments don't stay locked in place very well if you have to rotate the tool against any resistance. In my case I sometimes have to turn the tool agains the pond netting. Used this way the tool can become unlocked and retract while being used. This only happens if you have to turn the tool against a fixed or heavy object. Aside from this issue, the tool works great to just dip something out of the water or off the pool netting.

I was trying to decide between this and a vacuum
I'm glad I went with the Pond Shark. This was great for doing the bottom gunk cleanup. I ended up jumping in as my pond is about 3.5' deep, and the water wasn't too cold. But it did a good job clearing the sludge debris from the bottom. I was worried about a vacuum—that I'd have problems getting a bunch of that sort of heavy build-up out, without clogging the vacuum. The rake and net combo is a good design for that, and it's sturdy. It was a good workout, but I got the pond cleaner than it had been in years. Also, a bonus use is that I found out it's not too bad to catch goldfish either. The netting is open enough that it moves fast enough to catch them. (My other skimmer net is worthless for catching them.) For catching, I flipped the net the other way, so the rake part wouldn't hurt the fish. It worked pretty good.

Versatile
This net can be used two ways. One with the tines facing out and the other reversed with a scoop front. I have only used the scoop front to remove frogs from our pond before it freezes to the bottom, but it was very gentle with them. It should come in handy the other way to remove algae and spent Lilly leaves and flowers next year.

Works Great !!
We were pleasantly surprised at the durability of this product.... it managed to take out years of sludge from our pond without breaking... everything else we have tried previously would just bend or break under the weight. Would recommend.

Excellent product
Very well built, sturdy net. Not too heavy. Did the job we needed very easily. Recommend it for removing debris or string algae.

Broken
Bought this net as a Christmas present and it arrived cracked. The net was packaged in the massive box as shown in the photos with no packing materials to prevent the net from being tossed around inside. Despite seeming like a decent quality net, I will be returning since it is broken.
