Buy This Tie Rack, Then Buy More For Your Friends
This tie rack holds 24 ties (12 on each side) in such a way that (1) all ties are visible (from top to bottom, not just an inch or two), and (2) all ties are easily accessible without disturbing/moving other ties. The width of the rack (regular coat hanger width) makes it so that it is more stable while hanging than most other racks, which are usually half the width. Because of this stability, this rack doesn't have a tendency to tilt or twist around. In the picture, all the hooks are turned out. All the hooks turn sideways for easy storage. In storage position, all ties are still visible from top to bottom, and still easily accessible. Removing or replacing a tie on this rack is no big deal. It takes maybe 2-3 seconds. When loading a tie, it is just a turn or two to get to the hook desired. All the hooks can then be smoothed to storage position with one swipe of the hand. Very simple, very fast, very easy. All the hooks are smooth, with a rounded end, so that nothing can get punctured or snagged, neither the ties it holds nor the clothes one may hang next to the rack. Hanging on a closet rod, the rack (fully loaded) takes up the space of a suitcoat on a hanger. It is very compact. I have owned a large variety of tie racks and hangers, and have found that all other kinds of racks are annoying for a number of reasons (ties are difficult to see or access, rack tilts, rack tends to get caught up on clothes hung next to it). This rack has none of those drawbacks. When my local stores stopped selling these tie racks a few years ago, and I found out these racks are still available for purchase online, I stocked up and bought three more. Highly recommended. Thinking about buying more to give to friends, who won't know what they are missing until they have one.

Works well, but only AFTER modifications are made
First off, if you're not willing to modify this hanger, there's a very slim chance that you'd find it a good asset to your wardrobe closet. In that case, it'd be a 1/5 star review. But for me, modifying it was easier and faster then sending it back and looking for a replacement. So here goes: For one, I don't use many thick ties, most of my ties are somewhat skinny and half of them are knit. Even so, the little hanger clips only leave about 1mm of a gap for your ties, which means that you'll have to really tug your ties to get them to be pinched by the clips. My ties are not worth ruining via this horrible, daily routine of on-off'ing, so what I did was to use a small screwdriver to lightly open up the gap in the tie clip portion. Once you open it up to about 3mm or so, your ties will slide in with comfortable resistance. Other than that, all the little tie clips rotate, so I am currently only using one side. One side are all sitting perpendicular to the wood bar, and the other side is extended outwards, holding my ties. Saves space when you don't have that many ties. The top hook also rotates as well, so you have the freedom of displaying your ties any which way you want. The only thing I'd potentially want is for the upper hook to have rubber lining, that way you'd have a little more stability when taking your ties off the rack.

Works well, with some modification
Overall, this is a great product. The construction feels really sturdy, you can fit a lot of ties on it, and the design of the hooks is convenient. However, when I got the hanger, most of the hooks were closed too far to fit a tie on (if you visualize the hooks as being 'U'-shaped, the top ends of the U would be bent towards each other). In fact, on some of the hooks, the two ends were touching - with no space for the tie to slip through. The metal isn't very springy, so there was absolutely no way to get a tie on. I couldn't even get spread it apart with my bare hands. I ended of taking some nippers like these - (Crescent 727CVN 7-Inch Solid Joint End Cutting Cushion Grip Nipper ) - and grabbed the hooks lengthwise and opened them so I could fit ties on. The hanger was perfect after that. I took it on a week-long trip with about half a dozen ties on it; I put it in my suit bag along with my suit and multiple shirts. Even inside the bag, it was easy to find the tie I wanted and get it on/off the hanger. This hanger is great if you don't mind putting a little work into it to make it functional.

Great and Functional but Tight clips
This organizer works great to hold 24 ties, but like a previous post the prongs are tight and I will try to widen them with a screwdriver so the ties just slide right in. The majority of the ties would not slide easily under the entire prong. I love the fact that the prongs swivel flat or out. When flat you can see all your ties side by side for easy identification. The only reason I'd want the prong out is to get a tie on or off. You don't mess with other ties either, you can just take off the one you want. It's a great space saver as well. The prongs are smooth and shouldn't snag the ties. Being on a hanger you can take out all ties to see what matches what easily especially if your closet isn't well lit. If I can adjust the prongs wider, I would definitely buy a 2nd one as the tie collection grows!

Finally! A functional tie rack.
I have been searching for a functional and affordable tie rack for some time. I made the mistake of buying a vertical model, similar to the NEU home tie valet. My husband has about 16 ties, and as soon as you put a couple of ties on, you cannot see the others below. This is not to mention the fact that if you want them all to fit you have to find a way to squeeze them in between each other, which results in wrinkled ties. This tie hanger is a great price, sturdy. My favorite aspect is that I can see every tie. It doesn't take up too much space. Although if you have a small closet, as the product description warns, it will take up about 3-4 inches. The tie hooks are tight as noted by some others, but I draped the ties over the hooks and haven't had a problem with any falling. As one reviewer said, if I really wanted to use the hooks, I could easily take a couple of minutes and a pair of pliers to remedy the situation. Overall, very very happy with this product!

built well
This is built well and I like the way it stores several ties is a narrow space. The only thing I find less than perfect is the way the metal tie bars hold the tie... I'd like them to be not quite as tight. It takes some effort to slide a tie between the sections of the bar and I feel I need to be careful with delicate silk ties.

great tie organizer
solid, easy to use, easy to see. I easily used a flat-head screwdriver to just slightly pry the metal clip ends to accommodate thicker ties. Holds a lot of ties...you could double up onto the hooks easily if necessary. Great value

tie holder, even holds suspenders!
Like it... Heard a lot of people complaining about tension on the clips, and it's true they were tight. I fixed mine easy enough, just a sturdy blade, gently prying it a bit. Took all of 3 minutes. Very happy with the product, quality and the arms swivel easily.
