works similar to Samsung HAF-QIN/EXP

Externally, it looks the same as Samsung HAF-QIN/EXP filter. Fits well without issue and no leaks so far. TDS numbers: Tap 202. Reverse osmosis connected to tap 14. (Refrigerator is connect to tap) Amazon new filter 177. Samsung old filter prior to replacement 197. I do not have the TDS # for Samsung new filter but remember checking it in the beginning and it only decreased TDS # by little bit similar to Amazon filter. Filtration wise, this product and even Samsung OEM are not very good. But 5 stars for performing similar to OEM at much cheaper cost.

There are cheaper alternatives; need time to test efficacy.

This unit was very simple to install in a Samsung refrigerator (DA97-17376B), no more difficult than the OEM. No leaks so far. Typical instructions, including a purge cycle (5 minutes of running water) before use to get the best flavor and rinse our particulates before using. Good documentation; better than most equal type replacements you'd find. Includes tables for particulate removal amounts. These are about twice as expensive as some of the 'cheaper' knock-offs out there, but still cheaper than OEM. The real value will come in the flavor taste / removal of particulate. I'll update a gain once it's had a few months to cycle and be used.

A decent alternative to Samsung filters!

If you're like me and own a Samsung refrigerator, you know that their filters can get expensive, especially at full MSRP. These Amazon Basics replacements are just what we need! They filter about the same amount of stuff out of the water at a much better average price. I have used their filters for a while now and don't notice a single perceivable difference over the OEM filter. Size, shape, and capabilities all seem the same, save for a few visual differences in the packaging/labeling. This 3 pack came shipped in its own box which I am 100% ok with since it cuts down on yet another box to ship this in. I feel comfortable recommending these filters to anyone. One thing to note thought, make sure you follow the removal and install instructions! Don't assume you have the filter in right, and walk away. Even with the OEM ones, I've seen reviews claiming water leaked. My guess is that someone didn't ensure the product was in good shape and/or that the filter was installed correctly. There is a bit of resistance and pressure in the system when you turn it into its locked position. Make sure it's seated well, then let the fridge expel any bubbles by running a few gallons through the system. Check for leaks at this time. If you don't see any, you should be in good shape! Catch these on sale and you have yourself an amazing deal on fridge filters!

Just like the original

These replacement filters are just like the original/brand filter. They are easy to install and fit perfectly. We can definitely taste the difference/improvement in the water from our refrigerator when this filter is installed.

Great substitutes for OEM filters

We have a year old three door Samsung fridge. When the techs from the big warehouse where we bought it came to install it, they told me that I can buy on Amazon replacements for the filters, and they’ll work the same. Although the manual repeats several times to buy OEM only. Based on my previous experience with the old fridge and compatible water filters, I knew that the advice was good. Unfortunately, that set of filters does not have the same fit as the OEMs. I had to cut the plastic a bit. Not a functional issue. This Amazon Basics set has the same fit as the OEM, and in addition it lists exactly how many gallons and when to change. It will be a pleasure to move to this new set, especially since it represents good value for money. It allows me to keep to the schedule much better when the price per filter is much lower than the OEM.

Simliar to, but cheaper than OEM filter

This review is for the "Amazon Basics Replacement Samsung DA97-17376B, HAF-QIN/EXP Refrigerator Water Filter, 3-Pack, Premium Filtration". This non-OEM replacement filter handles very much the same as the Samsung OEM filter. It is similar in form/size as the OEM (though not quite identical). They are slightly different on top (though it does not seem to affect installation or daily operation). The Amazon one weighs ~310g, the Samsung one ~290g. The operation specifics are also slightly different (but again does not affect daily operations): Capacity: 316 gal (Amazon) vs 300 gal (Samsung), flow rate: 0.5 gpm (Amazon) vs. 0.4 gpm (Samsung), pressure: 20-100 psi (Amazon) vs. 30-125 psi (Samsung). You can get the OEM filter usually for somewhere between $30 and $40 here on Amazon (the cheapest I've gotten one was for $25 through Subscribe & Save). A three-pack of the Amazon Basic ones currently costs $60 (or $20 per filter). So, going with this filter can save you between 33% and 50%.

got this instead of the brand name water filter and still loved the taste, I think the price is definitely worth it for a pack of three and you still get great quality water flavor

Almost like having the OEM version

These are great water filters, especially for the price. They install perfectly, just like the brand new name-brand versions and do not leak at all. After a few days of use, the water still retains (very) slightly more of a mineral taste compared to the standard OEM versions, but not nearly as much as an old/expired name brand filter. They seem to do an overall great job of filtering unwanted stuff from your water. For illustration's sake, the water in my area has a noticeable bleach/chlorine smell sometimes after rain. It's rained multiple times since installing this filter and none of that comes through the fridge's water. If you're going to go with non-OEM filters, this is the one I would get.
