Good value but not something that will last the test of time
Item assembled fairly easily, no major mismatch of holes or openings. It looks good after one use but I don't expect this to last many seasons as the materials are still fairly thin metal and the temperatures are pretty hot when you have a few logs in the fire.

1000 degrees of awesome
We've been saving up fallen branches and old Christmas trees for a while and was finally able to get this stud to put all that fuel to use. It's hard to believe that this is such a popular product category for Amazon basics to get into but I'm glad they did. The pit is big, heavy-duty, and easy to assemble (my 7-year-old basically did it himself). The metal seemed a little thin but it was fine in our first and second fires, which likely got up to about 1000 degrees. The design is perfect with a deep pit and a nice guard rail around the edge. There are little vent slits around the sides to allow oxygen in and it's not difficult to get this puppy going. A fire mat might be helpful. We put ours right on the grass and that grass is no more. We put it up on bricks the second time but I'm not sure if that made a difference. The metal also rusts very easily (pictured). But I like that look so I'm not worried about it unless it completely disintegrates.

Poor quality control, and cheap materials.
Okay I'm unhappy with this lets just get it out there up front. I'm still giving it a 2 star rating though and I'll explain. First off the bad: The quality control on this is just poor. My first one arrived warped. The lid and the base were both warped in other directions from each other so they wouldn't fit together. It was also missing a couple bolts to boot. I then got a replacement sent to me and this one also was warped but far less severe than the first so I was able to bend the metal to make things work. Then you come to the material themselves. The use cheap hardware that isn't designed for outdoors. I know this because within 2 days of a very light rain the hardware all rusted. I ended up replacing them all and using high heat paint to repaint the whole thing and add rust protection. Also the drain holes in the bottom don't work well because there isn't enough of a change in pitch inside the bowl to direct water to them. I ended up having to add a few more myself to reduce pooling water. Finally we have the directions themselves. They want you to place the lid rests with the bend facing down which doesn't work. It won't fit that way and the lid has issues. I had to turn them around and mount the legs a bit different. Function wise it works. If you don't get close enough to examine the hardware you could even get by without replacing them. The issue I have is at this price I shouldn't have to do this much more work beyond building it (the first time).

Can I get a replacement fire screen?
Just want replacement fire screen. Screen was damaged in multiple spots. Would rather not replace entire product. Assembly was easy.

Lots of fun!
It was easy to assemble and has provided hours of family fun - toasting marshmallows, making s'mores, etc. And just having good conversation around the fire.
