Fairly reliable and long lasting
I'll take this model as solar over the having to regularly change out batteries monthly or bimonthly. My only issue was my wife left it knocked over on the ground next to the bird bath and forgot about it. The snow and wet weather managed to get past the shell and ruin the rechargeable solar battery and water pooled inside the dome. As long as it remains upright it works fine. The problem is that there's not a gasket to prevent water from getting inside. Therefore at the end of season remove it and put it inside to prevent it from getting damaged to reuse next year or you'll wind up replacing it 2 years later on.

Turns a Bird Bath Into a Fountain
The media could not be loaded. This water wiggler attracts birds to your bird bath or fountain. Birds and wildlife look for moving water and this wiggler works great in a bird bath which is too shallow or small for solar pumps. The solar panel works well in many conditions, even overcast weather. It was easy to assemble.

Works great, but could use a lithium-ion battery
Let me first say that I'm completely satisfied with the way the product operates. It works as advertised and it seems like the birds are very happy with it. If you end up having battery issues like me, you may find it worthwhile to remove the old battery and solder in a lithium-ion rechargable battery instead of the nickel-cadmium one provided. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because of the battery. I live above 40 degrees north latitude (Northeast USA), which means that my sunlight is not as direct as in other places to the south, and thus may be a contributing factor to why I had some battery issues. After a few months of operation I began to notice that it had problems remaining running overnight. I thought there might be some friction buildup in the 'drive shaft' but after cleaning and resetting in as much full sunlight as possible, I ruled out that it was not the motor or the drive shaft. The battery provided is a generic 1.2v nickel-cadmium battery, which claims to provide 1500mAh of capacity. I did not test the capacity when I first bought it several months ago, but just based on observation, it seemed to me to diminish towards the middle of the summer. When fall came around I rarely actually saw it wiggling water, and it only happened around midday when the sun was strongest. So I decided to do something about it. I had a AA lithium-ion battery laying around, and found a video on how to properly solder lead wire to battery terminals. When I looked up the capacity of my Li-ion battery (Energizer Ultimate, if you care) it had been tested to provide about 2300mAh of capacity, which seemed like a good upgrade. I was a little worried that the jump from 1.2v (the stock battery) to 1.5v (the AA standard) would burn out the motor, but I didn't have the equipment to step the voltage down, so I just ignored it. After prying the contacts from the terminals of the old battery and soldering them to the new one, it's been working like new for a few weeks and I'm very happy with my homebrew improvements to it. Conclusion: yes, the battery provided with the product is subpar, but if you have the ability to fix it yourself, it is worth it. Note: the 1.5v battery makes the wiggler spin slightly faster than the old 1.2v battery.

Does what it’s made for
I like this design better than a previous product I bought for same purpose. It had a fountain feature, for comparison, and was also solar/battery operated. I like how with this product, the battery stays out of the water. Assembly couldn’t be easier just snap on legs. Nothing has broken on it which I couldn’t say for other product I bought previously. It’s easy to clean off the little pads that can get a little slimy in the water. It works well. I don’t love the aesthetic of plastic housing but it serves a necessary purpose to keep water moving, it is easy to maintain, and I think the moving water makes bird bath more attractive to birds. I love watching them perch on edge, take a sip, take a look around then jump in for a bath! My bird bath is quite the busy place these days which makes me appreciate this product very much! And no mosquitoes breeding in it—which says a lot when you live in Florida. :)

Good water wiggler.
This is a good water wiggler. I don't get any mosquitoes in my bird bath. For me, these only last a couple years. They start looking pretty cruddy about that time so I just buy a new one. I don't bring it in during the cold months so that might make a difference. In the South our mosquitoe season is pretty long.

It should last longer
Bought this in May 2022. It stopped working for a day or two then started back up then stopped again and started back up. This continued until recently. . On really sunny days it will spin during the day, but as the sun goes down it will stop. Now it seems to have quit completely. This is too short of time for the money. I did contact the seller and was told to contact the manufacturer. I don’t have time to chase people I expected this to last longer.

Perfect for a birdbath and better than a fountain
The solar fountains that I've purchased in the past all become clogged with debris and bird droppings and have to be cleaned out about once a month. Also the fountain seems to help in evaporating the water in the bird bath faster. This solar water wiggler keeps the water agitated, it doesn't bother the birds at all and in fact seem to like it, it doesn't clog and doesn't have a filter that has to be cleaned and replaced frequently, and the battery lasts all day and into the night. It's so much better than that solar bird fountain.
