Excellent hand tool
After reading some of the reviews here I was slightly hesitant to buy this reamer however after having purchased it I shouldn't have been. This is a high-quality hand reamer. I used it to ream out the end pin when installing a ukulele pickup. This reamer removes very fine grain particles, there was no tear out of any kind. The resulting hole was smooth and round, I'm satisfied with the result and feel I have not harmed the instrument in any way. This is not a machine tool and that is why it costs 1/10 as much as other reamers but it does a good job. I did try this reamer in my drillpress and it wasn't perfectly round. It vibrated slightly, not a scary amount, it actually could be useful for some things in the drillpress but I didn't want to go that fast for my purpose so I ended up doing the job hand anyway. For those who commented that the pin falls out too easily I disagree the rod bites slightly but also transitions smoothly if you're working in a tight space. If you want it fixed you could tape it like others have suggested but if you need to work against a tight space for example inside of a ukulele body it's nice to have the rod move back-and-forth comfortably. I believe this tool will provide many years of good use. I'm happy with my purchase and I'm putting this in my luthier toolbox. I recommend this as a very satisfactory alternative to a $100 pin reamer for instrument end pins.

It works as described. I'm happy.
The pkg the reamer came in fell apart during shipping and it was rolling around loose in the box but caused no harm. Was surprised to see the brass caliper in the box so I reviewed my order and saw the item count was 2 but I believe I only ordered one reamer as far as I know. Then when looking at the pkgs I noticed the sticker for the reamer was on the caliper pkg. I can only assume the seller did this on their own accord. Thank you seller!! The reamer appears to be adequate and I did immediately use it to enlarge a hole in a piece of plastic. It worked fine. I will only be using it on plastic, wood, and very light metal and believe it will work fine for a long time. If you want a better reamer you will have to pay much more. Before I ordered I saw complaints about the removable handle and thought that was some funny stuff. Why buy it if you don't want the handle to come out? It is clearly indicated in the product description. Later I will heat one end of the handle and hammer it flat so it only can go in one way. That will make it easier to use but is a personal preference

Works Well for Enlarging Guitar Headstock Holes
This works as intended for enlarging Guitar headstock holes as seen on Phillip Mcknight YouTube video "Tuning Machine Installation". Good Buy!

Does the task it's designed to do at a budget friendly price.
I'm an amateur who needed this for a few projects I've been meaning to get to, but that I didn't have the tools for. Specifically installing new, larger tuners into a hole on a guitar's headstock that's too small. It works great. How it compares to other brands, I couldn't say. It's the first time I've used one of these, but it does what it should. Any complaints are more about the design of tools like this (the cutting edge can get clogged with shavings and lose effectiveness if not kept clean, the angle of the taper is steeper than it seems and it takes a lot of turns to really get a lot of material out of there (unless you use a lot of pressure, sacrificing control). But it works. And it was priced reasonably well and I don't find myself wishing I had a "better" tapered reamer.

Good For Hobbies and Household
Occasionally we come upon a construct or a repair job that will work just fine ... if the gosh-darn hole was just a bit bigger! That's the ideal scenario for the Woodstock D4140 Reamer. You can't build a house with it nor build an engine from raw materials. It's not metal-smith rugged. But I recommend it for enlarging holes in household metals, plastics, woods and so on. I gave it just four stars because the t-bar (grab handle) doesn't fit snug into the hole on the reamer. Would've been nice if the reamer came with its own small storage case. But in modern times we put up with products sold in wasteful blister packs. So, I took a small piece of duct tape and wrapped the center of the t-bar, then jammed it through the hole. Now it stays there permanently and the reamer has found a place in my tool box.

D4140 reamer
Now I bought this even though many complaints on the metal rod not properly fitting the reamer I simply duct taped the rod in place and that worked just fine i also tried running a bolt through it with nuts on either side and tightened it in and that worked very well too- yes the rod not fitted well but works well if you use some imagination very happy with it- it pointed and reams well and no issues with the reamer part at all- I very happy with it.

Nice to Have
The larger size of 5/8 inch is nice to have for larger holes. Handle provide the required leverage, as this reamer is primarily used to deburr drilled holes in metal and provide a leading edge. This is an addition to the 1/2 inch I currently own. I recommend as this one reamer will be the go to reamer for my projects.

Works on soft aluminum
I used this reamer to enlarge (properly size) holes in thick sheet aluminum (.060” and .090”). It worked ok, but needed sandpaper to ensure proper surface on the edges. Also, since the .090” was somewhat thick, needed to approach from both sides to ensure minimum taper to hole edges. The aluminum was non-tempered, so it didn’t seem to affect (dull) the cutting edges. That completed the panel I was making, but the tool will be around for additional uses, if I need it.

Decent.

Not 5/8"
Widest measurement at the top for their single option reamer, was just under 9/16", not 5/8" as stated. It was returned for their 2-pack option that includes a 7/8" model. At worst, should be no smaller than the required 5/8" needed, and should work for its intended use.

The handle does not stick and could get lost
I had to deform it with a sledge to get it to stick in the hole of the main body. Ugly fix.

Woodstock D4140 Reamer
This reamer is exactly as described. It works well on wood and plastics but it is not for metal. It was perfect for me in reaming the propeller hole larger on rc plane props.
