Just what I needed

I have a juvenile iguana and needed this substrate! It worked perfectly. In fact, I’m about to grab some more. I recommend to all that have baby to juvenile iguanas

Use in reptile cages. Cheaper than local pet store

Put in a box turtle cage after doing research and all the pet stores use this in their reptile cages. We tried dirt, but it just molded. I bought some moss at dollar store to go with and he loves burying himself in the moss. All in all much happier turtle.

Love this reptile substrate

Zilla is the best. Even if my reptile flips the water dish over the stuff never molds or smells gross. Every order this every month for my many critters like a Tegu and chubby frog . Also, when I change their cages every week or week and a half I throw a used bark in my garden. I like that I don’t have to throw this away and I can use it as ground mulch afterwards.

THEY get more bang outta YOUR buck!

I was completely floored at the size of the bag. (Yes, I know, I know, my fault completely for assuming it was at least in the neighborhood of being a reasonable amount...) Summing it up, I've bought shoes that came in shoeboxes bigger than the box this bag arrived in. It was pointless to even bother putting it in my 50 gallon reptile habitat: it wouldn't have even made one flat layer across the bottom surface. I ended up just dumping it into a couple of potted plants outside to hold the moisture in the soil. This made me even more angry because I needed to tend to my reptile's livlihood....I wasn't planning on settling for mild gardening that day. My GOOD NEWS? I just got back from Home Depot with a 57 liter bag. (The size of a super- bulk size bag of dog food intended for Great Danes. (HUGE!) I spoke at length with the Supervisor in H.Depot gardening. It is the SAME EXACT STUFF. Not chemically treated whatsoever. Heated to kill any critters, microscopic to creepy-crawly sized. And the bark chips are the exact same size as this Zilla stuff. My Home Depot price, including tax? $5.10. I will NEVER AGAIN buy BARK from pet stores or online pet supply vendors, paying them 200% more than the exact BARK sold at garden and nursery retailers!

Worth the Money

I bought this bark as a component for my tropical/ABG inspired substrate. It seems to be a great quality bark, good size and a variety of texture. There isn't any mites, pests, mold, or anything of that nature in my bag of bark. It's a good deal, there is a lot of bark in the bag and it didn't empty my wallet. I'm definitely happy with my purchase.

Good product!

Came in a big bag which will last me forever. The only mess you is the dust and slivers of wood it leaves behind. Easy to scoop out and toss when dirty. Pieces of bark are the size of a penny to about a quarter but very. Created gecko approved.

Does the job

Does the job- I recently switched my turtle(s) substrate. It does the job, however it’s not preferable compared to other brand I have tried Would have to buy again if I had to

Great product. I really enjoyed using it. The only con was that I found the chips to be a bit larger for the purpose I wanted to use it with ( potting mix ingredient)
