A Great Tester!!
This is the best tester. Easy to use, just put the prong in the ground (just a little bit of it), hook on top of tester you hook that onto your electric fence, if all 5 lights lite up your fence is fine and working great. My sister has one they use to test their electric fence for there cows. She's had hers for over 10 maybe 12 years still going strong. Plus she also paid a lot more for hers then I did from Amazon. And it's the same brand. If your looking for a light weight tester to check fences THIS IS THE ONE!! I highly recommend.

I found the box that Amazon used was perfect to make a box blinder for it
Work as expected. As noted elsewhere the lamps are neon, and thus a somewhat dim orange glow, so it cannot be used in direct sunlight. When I received it, I found the box that Amazon used was perfect to make a box blinder for it. I cut a slot in one end the width of the tester, and a notch so the end with the clip sicks out, and taped it in with black tape. Then I cut a rectangular hole in the other end of the box to look into. I just used it in direct noon day sun, and had no problem seeing it at all.

Great Value on a great tester
This fence tester does exactly what it says it will do. I read reviews on here that the bulb that is lit is hard to see in the daylight, I did not find that to be true. I just faced the unit away from the sun and used my hand to shade the unit if needed. I think this is the best tester on the market for the price. Not only will it tell you if your fence is charged, but to what level it is charged.

Just Okay.
Hard to read in bright sunlight and doesn't have a pulsating or clicking sound to let you know it's working.

too dim to read voltage
the lights are so dim you can't rad them. tried to use this even at night and could barely see the levels. not sure if mine is defective or they are all like this.

UPDATE: The wire snapped off the grounding rod. The grounding rod is better wrapped than other meters
For me, it's a design flaw. The hook faces the opposite direction of where you would hook it to a fence and be able to see the face of the meter. The way it is designed, you have to hook it from behind, if that makes sense, and hope to get enough contact for the meter to read. The grounding rod is better wrapped than other meters, so that's good. UPDATE: The wire has broken off from the grounding rod and I've only used this tester about 4 times. It just snapped off. I cannot write a comment to the seller because it lumps this item in with another item, with which I am very happy. I cannot return it because the return window closed. So, either this one was very defective or it's not well made--I'm not sure. But I will look for another product to replace it. Too bad.

Worked as expected. The lights were a little difficult to see in bright sunlight, but in a fence tester this is somewhat expected.

Excellent. I can see the flashing lights when not in direct sun.
People complain u can't see the flashing lights. Not a problem if u shade the lights from direct sun. Just like u do for a phone screen. Tester is 10 out of 10.

Yes
It works fine. Like many others of its ilk, it is somewhat difficult to see the signal light in broad daylight, so rather than complain, do it at dusk! The price is right for a gadget used a few times per year for verification purposes and it was delivered promptly.

Easy to read
Works well. Replacement for another brand that did not work.

Short lived.
Product worked great, but an hour into checking fences it quit, not sure if lights burnt or something else "blew" in it. I returned the item the day after I received it.
