This Just Made My Whole Summer
I live in the middle of the woods and the mosquitoes have been horrendous. I love to sit on my deck and relax but they've been driving me inside after only a few minutes. I looked at screen houses and bubble structures but they're expensive and I don't have much storage for large items. Plus, here in the woods they would just get destroyed be it from the elements, squirrels, falling tree branches, etc., so I've been reluctant to spend much money. Then by chance I happened upon this Coghlan's mosquito net a few days ago. I was actually looking at camping equipment and saw this by chance because it was a Prime Day Deal. I've glanced at mosquito nets before, but they're either frilly (meant for indoor decor) or fairly expensive. This one was perfect. I had an idea I was anxious to test: Could I put this net over my deck umbrella and create a little bug free sitting space? The answer is yes! I set it up today and sat in wondrous amazement as I enjoyed NOT getting eaten alive. I got the green color and I'm glad I did. It blends in nicely with my surroundings and I can see through it very easily and can see the birds at my feeders, etc. I chose the 240 hole count because it means the mesh is finer to prevent smaller bugs. It still lets in those tiny no-seeums/black flies but I only had a couple of them as the worst of black fly season has now passed here in Northern New England. But it didn't let in a single mosquito the entire time and they were surrounding me. I giggled like a child at them hovering outside the net, unable to get me. I should mention (in case anyone else wants to try something similar), that my deck umbrella is a smaller size (5' diameter, and my table is just a small cafe table with one full size deck chair. And it's just me. I also lowered the height of the umbrella in order for it to drape onto the deckboards, because there would have been a gap at full height. So this would be too small for a full size patio set with multiple chairs. But it works great for me, I'm 5'6" and can just stand up under it this way. And you can of course hang it using the loops without an umbrella (as it's intended) I'm really glad I got the double size as it's the perfect size for this purpose. Dipping under it to get in and out is easier than I expect as well, I thought it would be annoying or let bugs in but it's fine. I love it and I also bought a second one for camping. It even came with a little baggie of nails, anchors, string and cup hooks plus a nice net drawstring bag to keep the net in. It rolls up easily and fits back in the bag easily and is extremely lightweight for convenient travel/camping. This was a fantastic purchase and a great value. I'm a little worried about tearing it, it's very fine netting and looks like it would rip easily, but the price is fair enough that I would immediately replace it without thinking twice. I'll now be able to sit out on my deck for the remainder of the season in a zen-like state of bliss instead of waving my arms around like a lunatic and swearing like a trucker. By the way, they do sell round nets specifically made to go over umbrellas for a more proper fit, but they were more expensive, usually white and had a weird open-topped design that I disliked. This suits my needs perfectly and didn't cost an arm and a leg.

Money well spent!
I am very afraid of bees, hornets, dragonflies, etc., so I purchased this net for my balcony. Thanks to a great idea from another review of this net, I moved all of my furniture under my umbrellas and draped the net over the umbrellas. Works great and keeps the bumblebees away from me!

Affordable, no frills, large mosquito net--good value, but probably not adequate for "no see ums"
The Coghlan's Double Mosquito Net is a good value in a large (78"L x 63"W x 59"H), no frills, reasonably durable net shelter. DECENT PROTECTION, BUT NOT IDEAL FOR "NO SEE UMS" The netting has 240 holes per square inch and the holes are about the same diameter as the slender ink pen inserts inside a typical ball point pen. Of course, that means the netting is probably not fine enough to combat no-see-ums (i.e., the tiniest biting insects), but it will hold off larger mosquitoes, flies, spiders, and other such creepy crawlers. If you're planning to use this in an area where no-see-ums are a problem, I would probably seek out a better, no-see-um-rated solution. For general camp use, however, this netting should dramatically improve your comfort and protection from insects for its affordable price. It also seems reasonably durable compared with other netting I've handled, so if treated with some care, it should hold up fairly well. MODERATE WEIGHT This net weighs in at a moderately "hefty" 11.3 oz. (321g), or just shy of three-quarters of a pound. Not great by ultralight standards, but not in light of its generous rectangular size and the fact that it offers coverage on five sides (no floor, though). There are certainly lighter net shelters on the market, such as the Sea to Summit brand, but they cost considerably more and offer less usable space. If every gram matters to you, the extra expense might be worth it, or you could try cutting down this shelter into smaller, lighter pieces, or you could choose the more typical ultralight solution of packing a headnet only. In my case, I bought it to provide bug protection for myself and my three daughters when we camp under a tarp, and I didn't want something that would make us feel "confined" if we end up having to use it a lot. I also think it will work nicely during the day draped over a picnic area if the flies won't let us eat in peace. So I consider the weight acceptable for those needs. (If I were solo camping, I'd probably cut it down to half or even one-third the size to save weight/bulk.) NO FRILLS Unlike many other netting structures, there are no poles or reinforced tie outs here. The netting sets up by tying off the corners using the six keyring-sized metal loops around the top perimeter or "roof" (one ring in each corner, plus one in the center of each of the two longer sides). Since the netting is so light and doesn't need to shed wind or water the way a tarp would, there's no reason to tie it very tightly. That's good because the tie-off points seem a bit delicate, sewn as they are into a few folds of bare netting, rather than not reinforced with nylon or some other structural reinforcement as heavier duty net shelters often are. I'm fine with that, as my intended usage is to hang it under a tarp, where it will be well protected from wind and elements. If you were to leave it set up unprotected in windy conditions, however, I suspect there is a good chance the flapping of the netting would eventually allow the metal rings to "saw" through and break away. CONCLUSION If you want a cheap, no frills, reasonably durable, and generously sized net to fend off normal-sized insects, this is a good bet. If you're worried about no-see-ums or want a durable shelter that can be left up for days and stand up to less-than-mild conditions if left out and neglected, I'd keep looking. It suits my purposes fine, so I'm happy with my purchase.

Good product
Haven't used it yet but it seems sturdy. the pack down size was a little bigger than I was expecting but was able to fit it in a smaller compresson sack. it came with a drawstring sack but it felt cheap. good size net, big enough to fit over 2 folding chairs with a little room to eat your meals in peace or sleep and could easily be slipped under a tarp. comes with a compression sack and a set of screws for indoor hanging.

Like winning the sleep lottery
Extremely well made and fit my old steel spring fold leg spring bed, as i sleep outside for the cool summer air to sleep in comfort! A great value for money that im very very happy that i took a chance to purchase. Easy to use, five tie out rings and small nylon string of good length to tie net above my bed. My bed is six and half foit long and three and a half wide. Fit like a loose glove and the night cool breezes came thru nice. No body heat build up that i could detect whiles sleeping with this for a whole week. Get it while you can, you won't regret it. P.s. seems my two doggos found the net while i was on other side of house for abit. They got caught in it and ripped three big holes getting out of it. Arrg, well my fault for not putting it away as soon as i wake up as i usually do. I got my needle and thread and set to sewing up the holes. No problem and it repaired easy and ready to go in that night. Still a great buy and glad I got it.

I would not have bought it if I was aware of the warning????
I was disappointed when I received this misquito net, the ad for it does not show the warning that you can be exposed to chromium which can cause cancer and birth defects, so I believe it was irresponsible of Amazon to not show the warning on the bottom of the bag????????????

Lightweight camping solution, with caveats
Just returning from a canoe camping trip where we used the net to "upgrade" our communal shelter space. Overall great product for the price, size of net shelter fits nicely over a standard picnic table (does not reach the ground), mesh is very fine to keep bugs out (though a little too delicate for rugged outdoors), suspension ring loops easy to use with fine rope provided and well spaced. Pros: Lightweight product for hiking/canoe camping with minimal gear/weight; Comes with mesh storage bag and hanging rope; Straight forward, good option for additional bug coverage, I could see this as a great option if used above a mattress for sleeping. Cons: Not very tall, doesn't reach ground if hung over a picnic table, but significantly reduces bug entry; Fine mesh, keep most bugs out, but rather delicate material prone to rips; No entry door or access, need to lift it all the time to exit/enter; Will keep this as part of my minimal camping supplies for future trips

Pretty good for the price!
This is actually not bad for the price! Comfortably seats two people and you could probably squeeze up to four in a pinch. Things I would improve are 1. The strings supplied - Coughlan should spring for some thin paracord because the string supplied is super slippery. We added our own paracord instead. 2. I wish there were some tie-outs on the base of it so we could peg down a few spots. Ultimately it provides a decent little space to escape the bugs at sunset or anytime.

contains cancer-causing chemicals
I have not used the product yet and do not intend to use it because it comes with a warning that says: "WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including chromium, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm." Had I known, I would not have bought this product. Yet somehow, this warning did not appear anywhere in the product information available at the time of purchase!

Exactly what I was looking for. Great product at an excellent price.
This net is a god sent and we are finally able to make complete use of our second floor balcony. It covers a wide space and our evenings outside can now be bugs free without having to resort to any chemicals. Since we ordered it late in the year, we were able to use it only once this year before the snow came down but we are excited and looking forward to enjoying it next year.
