Sad it took me so long to discover this product
I use this for electrical work and wrapping up things that heat shrink won't fit over in place of electrical tape. Extremely robust, used to weatherproof and hide some crackpot wiring I did in the engine bay of my truck. Looks spotless and is holding up well. Make sure you put some tension on the tape as you wrap and ensure that you're wrapping it on itself, as other reviewers have mentioned, and your results will be immaculate.

Wonderful tape for waterproofing
Great tape for water proofing coaxial cables and antenna connections! It’s not sticky, but very adhesive and easy to work with even in tight spaces!

Amazing stuff - I keep finding new uses for the Silicone X-Treme Tape daily -- a must have for anyone who repairs things
How did I go so many years without this stuff in my shop, or in my car, or in my backpack? Every day I think of new ways to use this stuff.... for instance, today - I was filling a small spray bottle with bug repellent for my backpack, and I was concerned about the top coming unscrewed slightly causing a potential leak. Well, I pulled out my clear version of this same tape, and wrapped it around the top where it screws on, now I am confident it will hold. Yesterday, my weedeaters foam grip was cracking splitting - out comes the black Silicone tape to the rescue to provide a new grip for the handle. The day before, my tent pole plastic end cap was not staying on the pole, again, Silicone tape to the rescue. Then, when I was weedeating my lawn, I noticed my trusty outdoor electrical cord took a hit with either the weedeater or hedger, and had a couple of chunks of the outer sheathing missing. I used my Xtreme tape (in the Red color to match the cord ;-)) and it has been holding for weeks and about 4 uses, I don't see why it won't hold for a very long time. Next, both my backpacking and camping tent poles have vinyl or plastic ends on the poles - and after time these loosen up, want to come off and worse yet get lost! Well, not only does Xtreme tape fuse the tent pole ends to the pole, it also reinforces them and makes them stronger and more durable... And then the big test - my garden hose had a pin-hole leak in it, and I applied this tape to it. The key is to make sure you extend the tape on either side of the hole by a few inches (I did three inches on each side of the hole) - and then make sure you stretch the tape very well and evenly around the hose. Also, make sure the hose is on a flat surface, and try to avoid flexing / bending the hose while taping, keep it as straight as possible. Also, give it at least two windings (not just one). It is working fine, if there are any issues I will update. You get it. This stuff is amazing. Once you wind it on itself it sticks like white on rice. Its resiliency is quite good - it is very tough and it will not come unwound unless you intentionally start to pull on the seam. Then, it will rip instead of lose its contact... it is that sticky to itself. The list goes on.... like I said, I keep finding more uses for it daily. I would say just get a roll, and keep it around. You will be amazed at the number of applications this stuff will satisfy.... an easy five star!! Thanks for reading.

Legitimately amazing product
This was my first experience with self-amalgamating tape. It's really good stuff. I used it to seal up several connections on a motorycle. One of them is right next to the engine so regularly gets hot. No signs of degradation, after several weeks of regular operation there. This tape is wonderful for sealing electrical connections against weather, better actually than electrical tape. Doesn't leave adhesive residue on things, as it doesn't use a conventional adhesive. Usage tips: -Follow the included directions, and you'll be happy with this product. -To emphasize: This tape *does not stick to anything but itself.* That's what "self-amalgamating means. You'll have to wrap it at least once around the thing you want to cover, before you start covering whatever it is. -Forms the best seal when stretched at least a little. Can be stretched a lot to form an extra-tight seal. PS: "Triangular" means that the cross-section of the tape tapers a little toward the edges. This makes it a bit easier to form well-sealing wraps.

Great But Still Have A Slight Leak
I have only used one section of this tape so far and I don't find it as "X-Treme" as advertised. I have used this small section for my new showerhead that doesn't go on quite all the way with my shower head piping coming out of my wall. While this 'tape' may be the best quality out there (says it was originally developed for the military in the packaging), among other brands of the same material tape (and there's many), it still doesn't offer a 100% leak seal with just a small amount of tape. It performs better then electrical tape for my use as described but still allows a little bit of the leak to come through. The packaging states that for an even better result you should use a second wrapping. Well, if a good foot can't 100% stop a very, very minor leak on a plumbing connection then why should I need two feet? Great tape nonetheless and I do indeed believe it's the best quality on the market. No adhesive means it works better and it does indeed self seal very good, just not perfectly.

Saved me money!!!
This roll of tape saved me from calling a plumber to fix a small leak under my kitchen sink. Every time i ran the water I'd get a slow drip from the lead pipe feeding into the goose neck.I had to keep a bucket under the sink and was ready to call a plumber then i came across this amazing tape. if you follow the simple instructions to use this tape correctly it will solve small problems. A few wraps around the pipe with a waiting time of a few hours and the leak was no more. I have no idea how much a plumber would have charged but it would have been a whole heck of a lot more than the the cost of this tape. I actually purchased a second roll for those "just in case" moments that might occur. Even if you're not having a problem now you should keep a roll of this tape around as it just might come in handy. I also used it on a garden hose i was about to throw out, problem solved, Buy this tape!
