All that is missing is your cake batter

This is a cute all in one set, especially if you dont want the hassle of having to go buy everything separate. The icing pouches have round and star tips on them. You remove the round to expose the star. The icing isnt really stiff enough to keep shape though. It's more on the runny side. Very sweet, basic vanilla icing. I just would plan on being too creative with the tips because the icing is going to settle into more of a flat finish since it's so soft. Typically you use a more stiff icing to pipe. The pictures show the tops of the cupcakes done with just stars all over the tops. Looks good in the pics but they dont stay that way wirh this icing, unfortunately. It's just too runny. If you put them in the fridge immediately after decorating, it will help the icing set some so it doesnt flatten out as quickly. Keep them refrigerated until about 5-10 min before wanting to serve them so they dont soften too long at room temp. You provide your own cake batter, of course. That's the only thing missing from the set. You get plenty of the pearl sprinkles. Plenty cupcake liners and plenty treat bags. You can use them for the cupcakes, but it's a bit messy getting them in and out of there due to the slim size of the bags. They're fine for other treats as well though, so they're still handy. Aside from the pink pearls, it's pretty gender neutral. I should clarify that I'm calling them pearls but these sprinkles arent actually the pearlescent ones. Still cute though and still get the job done. I think it could be a 5 star product if the icing had the correct consistency for piping, or at least take away the tips so people dont assume it will work out, and also if the treat bags were a little more usable for the cupcakes, without being so slim that you're getting icing all over the bags on the way in and out.

A fun decorating and birthday set, but the taste isn't great.

Wilton's Happy Birthday Party Set is a comprehensive birthday set with everything you need to get you started on simple birthday food items. Included with the set are tall and narrow plastic bags with ties, 4 containers of large ball sprinkles, 2 bags of white icing, and birthday cupcake liners. The bags can hold a cupcake, but they aren't ideal for that since they are narrow enough to ruin the frosting. They would hold a bunch of pretzels, candies, etc. nicely. They have a fun happy birthday design on them with coordinating twist ties. The sprinkles are brightly colored and come in small plastic containers with screw off lids. The sprinkles are ball bearing sized, hard, and shiny. They are a bit difficult to eat and don't taste like much of anything other than sugar. The white icing comes in squeeze bags with screw off lids. Underneath are two different nested tips, a circle and a star. The icing squeezes out nicely, is easy to manipulate, and holds its shape well. It isn't a bright white, but more of an eggshell. It tastes like sugar, not vanilla, and has a gritty texture. The cupcake liners are bright, colorful, and easy to remove. All in all... a nice set, but the taste isn't great.

Everything you need!

This set allows you to do the best part of cupcakes easily! Decorating! It comes complete with all you need. Wilton is a trusted brand in my household. I use them for decorating Christmas cookies and birthday cakes so to have a cupcake set all put together is a delight! The icing comes ready to use and is tasty! The squeeze tubes have a solid writing tip and if you easily remove that by unscrewing it, there is a star tip. You do not have to mess with bags and tips for frosting your cupcakes. It is mess free! it is an excellent choice for kids to use because it is so less messy than traditional ways with icing bags and multiple tips that need to be cleaned afterward. The colorful cupcake liners are high quality , brightly printed with Happy Birthday and a cake design. They are blue in color. The package contains 50 and the included icing should decorate approx 3 dozen cupcakes depending on your decorating style. The package also contains colorful large non-pareils sprinkles. There are 4 tubes , pink , blue, green and yellow. All bright colors to match the design of the wrappers. As an added bonus, this pack includes matching gift bags for favors or treats that match the cupcake liner design. The design is universal so it can be used for boys, girls, children and adults. Overall this is a fun, easy way to be creative with everything you need in one pack. Happy decorating!!

Great set for home made birthday cupcakes.

This is actually a really cute idea for a cupcake set. I bought a box of cake batter, made the cupcakes and my teenage daughter used this kit to decorate them for her friends birthday party. The decorations are a little bit more of a hard candy than a soft sprinkle, so that's one thing to keep in mind if you're getting this set. If the decorations had been a bit softer, the set would be perfect!

Cute birthday cupcake set but too.many dragees instead of sprinkles

A very fine set of birthday party basics for the most part , cute cupcake papers really nice decorated clear gift bags, two packs of white frosting with decorater r tips. The sprinkles are actually draggees or pearls, little hard balls of sugar in yellow, green, pink .and. blue there are a lot of dragees, hard to eat neither the kids not the adults like dragees these will probably last decades. I wish some were real sprinkles. But I do.like the quality of The Wilton out and they are great when the kids want to.do.some.of the work

Well coordinated, colorful, tasty

This is a whale matched, set, and everything in it is excellent quality. The cake icing tastes just like sweet buttercream from the bakery, though they seem to be shortening based. They have a vanilla flavor that is very natural, and there are two tips included with each bag. There's a star tip, and a writing tip that you can put on that makes a round pipe. The sprinkles are all absolutely lovely in shade. The glitter and sparkle, being a sugar crystals. There's enough here to do a dozen cupcakes with the icing, (if you put a good bit on like I do) and plenty of sugar cookies, cake pops or other treats.
