Filter failed after a month - Whirlpool Customer Service will not replace
These pre/post filters are rather easy to replace which is nice. We received ours and upon replacing the filter noticed that the water coming from the RO tap was considerably reduced. We decided to deal with slower water for the time being and just about a month later the water completely stopped coming out of the tap. I called whirlpool customer service at 866-986-3223 for a replacement. Customer service told me that "Even though it isn't listed on their web site, I should know that I can't call for a product to be replaced after 30 days". When I explained that their web site recommended replacement every 6 months and and that this unit had been acting up since I received it they told me, "We are sorry, there is nothing we can do. If you'd like to purchase a new one from us we'd be happy to sell you one." The customer service rep offered to send me to her supervisor. When I said that would be great, please do, I was disconnected. Not the kind of customer service I'd expect from Whirlpool but you can make your own decision. Here's some helpful information on how to troubleshoot whether you have a bad pre/post filter. Pre/post filters are the exact same part number (WHEERF). This troubleshooting information applies to either the RO tank not filling up, or water streaming (or low flow) from the RO tap. If you have either of these cases, try the following to see whether the filter is bad. 1. Note the problem you have first (low flow from RO tap or no water in the tank) Swap the pre (stage 1) and post (stage 3) filters on your RO system. They easily install uninstall by screwing or unscrewing them 1/4 turn. 2. If you had a problem with the tank filling, give the unit an hour or so and check to see if the tank fills. Lift the tank to see if there's water in it. It will only weigh a couple pounds if empty, or about 20 pounds when full. 3. If you had a problem with low flow from the RO faucet, make sure that there's some water still in your tank (check by lifting it). Assuming there's some water in the tank, your RO faucet flow should return to normal if one of the filters was bad. 4. If either of your problems above (low flow or tank not filling) was fixed, you'll be able to pinpoint which filter is bad because the problem will follow the filter. 5. If swapping the filters does not fix the problem you likely have a tank pressure issue. If this is the case do a quick search on YouTube for RO Tank Pressure Issues or RO Low Flow Troubleshooting, or try the following: There's a blue cap on the tank. Remove the blue cap and you'll see something that resembles a bike tire pressure valve. Take a tire pressure gauge (there's likely on in your car's glove box or on a bike pump) and hook it up to tank pressure valve. It should read between 5-10 psi. If it reads 0 psi, use a bike pump to pump up the pressure to about 7 psi. Try your RO faucet to see if water comes out. If so, check in a couple days to ensure the water continues to flow. If not, you likely have a tank bladder issue and the tank needs to be replaced. A replacement tank is currently about $35 on Amazon (cheaper than the filters that Whirlpool refused to stand behind). Hope this helps others out! Also, if you have a bad filter call the # listed above. If enough of us call hopefully Whirlpool will stand behind their products and stop swindling customers of their hard earned money when products are still under warranty.

Been using for four years, testing kit shows filters do a great job
We have been using these filters for about four years now, replacing every six to seven months. Replacement is particularly easy. We have gutted out the R/O center filter since our city acted on our water and dramatically reduced VOCs. Our testing kit shows that the two carbon filters alone are doing an excellent job of removing the containments we do have down to trivial ppms that are an order of magnitude below recommended levels. I don't doubt the reviews of peopel who have had trouble with these but we have had no trouble whatsoever. We got a slow flow last year, but it was actually our pressure/reserve tank after four years of heavy use, and a few pumps with a bicycle pump brought pressure up and is at very good levels now. Also Whirlpool does confirm that these "shipped by amazon" and "sold by amazon" are not knockoffs or counterfeits, but genuine OEM.

Has become quite expensive
These filters do a great job but they have become quite expensive. Over the last couple years, they've almost doubled in price. I removed it and bought a newer system that does the same thing and half the price
