broken parts
The order arrived in undamaged box - however the faucet piece was broken and we could not install it. the part the red hose attaches to was broken off - the inside box that held it was undamaged as well so I believe it was shipped to us in the broken state. The red hose that was supposed to attach to the broken off part was also supposed to have a flow restrictor in it that is missing. I have had a Watts filtration system in my home for the last 15 years and decided to upgrade to a newer one when the tank to my old system failed - due to the long life of the old system I bought another made by the same company - totally disappointed!! Update: Called Watts and was helped By Yvonne - totally awesome person! - She had me send pics of the broken items and shipped the replacements to me the next day! Very Happy with their customer service!

No more plastic bottles
This is my second set, the previous one was 12 years old and started to produce much less water than a new one. I love this device; I added an extra mineralizing filter to get a better water quality and for sure I'm very glad to get away from buying, carrying and recycling water bottles... in addition there is no more bisphenol or other chemical risk. Besides drinking, I use this water for cooking and to water our indoor plants. In addition, this system is smaller, and fits under my sink next to the garbage disposal system, not to mention that changing filters is extremely easy.

Easy to install, delicious water. Horrid warranty service.
Initial Review: 5 Stars I've had an Austin Springs 5 stage RO system for a few years that I enjoyed the water from. We bought a new house, and after a day I realized I could not deal with the chlorinated filth coming out of the tap. Instead of moving our old unit, I decided to buy a new one, for a few reasons - after installing the other unit, our water bill increased drastically. I wanted our new unit to use less water, and the thought that this reused the brine by pumping it into the hot water system intrigued me. Also, the faucet on the other unit was a nightmare to keep tight. This filter was incredibly easy to install. The faucet tightens from the top of the sink, meaning you don't have to get under the sink to get it right. The quick connect fittings all work without leaks. I had a problem with a leak after installing, and tech support quickly walked me through how to tighten the elbow to stop the leak. I flushed two tanks, and my water went from 148ppm to 3ppm on a zero water filter - and it doesn't taste like a swimming pool anymore. The hardest part of installing was the fact that in had to drill a hole in the floor and the base of the sink to run the power cord for the pump, and then fish the cord to the basement to reach an outlet. The instructions say that this is tested to work with a water heater temp of 120°F. My water heater is at 150°F - so far, we've experienced no problem with the hot water system, and it's been days. (Update: The only thing I've noticed is that our once instantly hot water now takes a few seconds to heat up.) The only two downsides - the piece that holds the filters was broken on both spots where the screws mount. Because of that, I can't effectively mount the filter housing. I don't mind that too much, and it was probably just bad luck on my part that won't apply to others. The biggest peeve of mine is that the faucet only comes in silver. I have an oil rubbed bronze faucet - would be nice to have a matching water filter. I don't yet know how this will impact water bills compared to the conventional RO unit, but not hearing it waste water every time it pours a glass is comforting. Just make sure your kids don't drink the shower water. Update : 4/1/20 Received water bill. It's comparable to a bill on a home without a RO system. The water is delicious still, and still reading low on a tds meter even after pumping out gallons per day. Excellent system. Seriously, couldn't be more pleased. Update: 9/13/20 - 3 Stars Warranty service on this filter is HORRIBLE. The power supply to the pump stopped working unexpectedly. I contacted for replacement parts twice, and received no response either time. There is also a weird phenomenon where accidentally bumping the faucet causes it to release about an ounce of water. Not much, but it is unusual. The fact that they claim a one year warranty but ignore all warranty requests is pretty disappointing. The filter itself is quite wonderful, but they lose two starts for not following their own terms.

This is my 5th Watts Premier RO system
With each house I've owned in the past 20 or so years, the Watts Premier RO system has been my go-to drinking water filtering product. I initially had the screw-in type cartridge type and went through 2 of those where they were initially very good, but eventually the cartridge seals would fail, and I would have to replace the unit. Once they released the snap-in design cartridge version, I've never had a problem since. Would highly recommend.

Easy to install and maintain, great tasting water
It’s like having bottled water on tap. I have installed four of them as I’ve moved and this was the easiest. Great support from the company. Several improvements over my last model. Reduced total dissolved solids by 96%!

Good system, poor quality control
The good news is Amazon delivered on time. The system design is good, and it's more compact and quieter than the former Watts ZR0 (Model 500029) that I previously installed in 2006. However, the installation manual was not particularly well designed, and a color illustration of the overall system would have been helpful in depicting the various connections of the color coded lines to their respective components. The factory installed lines at the solenoid, booster pump (green), and double check valve (red) were not inserted completely, resulting in leaks on start up. The elbow connector at the base on the solenoid was not screwed in completely, resulting in leaks. The screws securing the solenoid and booster pump were not tightened, resulting in pump noise and vibration. The factory installed screw holes at the booster pump were stripped, making tightening impossible, and required new screws of a slightly larger diameter, and similar length to secure the pump to the mounting bracket. One two wire at the pump connector was not inserted completely, and the tabs securing it within the connector body, were not flared correctly, which would have kept them in place when making the required connection to the mating connector, and the pump wouldn't run until this was repaired. Overall, I spent nearly five hours making adjustments and repairs to what should have been a new system. I should have returned the entire system to Amazon, but the repairs were relatively simple and intuitive, though they shouldn't have been necessary on a new system, if Watts manufacturing QC had been more attentive.
