I wish you could dim the lights
The problem with this fan is that it's not popular enough for this company to upgrade it to what is considered normal. Basically this is a fan from the early 90's. There's no remote, no dimming and the blades attach the way they did back in the 90's. You have to swrew each one in. Newer designs don't require you to put together each blade, you just click them in. So as I put this together I was thinking that this may go back as it could be a balancing nightmare. But the fan was perfectly balanced. The color is just like the photo and we changed from the 60w bulbs to a 25w vintage light. The 60w equivilent was so painful to look at. Honestly, this is a $270 fan, can't you install a dimmer switch? Now you're only option is to put a dimmer on the entire fan. That isn't good for the motor. I purchased a 3rd party remote and so I have remote control but you'll need to sort out which light works best for you. Considering most fans are $140 or less, I find that charging $270 for basically a 1990 model is a bit steep. Why did I buy this? Because we were specifially looking for a later type look in a fan. If anyone else had this with any features then we would have bought it.

Perfect
I waited a few days before posting. We spent months trying to find the perfect fan for our back porch. This one fit the bill. The fan blades are reversible, we chose the lighter side. The blades are very sturdy. The glass does have little bubbles in it but we liked it as it adds to the over all appearance. The metal parts look rustic and not cheap at all. The light is not too bright and the bulbs are not a normal size. However, we ordered three fans and we feel the light works. The downrod is very short, 6-inches. We ordered 12-inch rods but still seem a little short. We are going to eventually change them out to 18-inch downrod. You will need two people to help put fan up due to the fragile parts, but other than that fan was easy to assemble and put up. The color was a very nice contrast to our lighter wood colored shiplap that we have on the ceiling. The fan is capable of different speeds and the lights can also be adjusted. I would recommend this fan to anyone.

If you were a DYII person I would steer away from this fan. I have been a contractor And found this fan extremely difficult to install and I have installed many fans. The reason for the difficulty or two issues. The first one was in the housing where the rod connects. There was a large area of silicone sealant around the wire that had to be cut away in order for the metal pan with the cotter pin to go through successfully. Second issue I had was the quality of the fasteners. They were of low quality wood strip very easy, would not seat easily, and my professional grade screwdrivers would not fit them properly. You could tell they were foreign and they were junk. It was due to the difficulty with getting screws to seat properly that I give the installation a one star at best. That is why I said if you are someone who unlike me has not done these things in the past on a daily basis you’ll find the span very frustrating to install.In the future I will not purchase a Westinghouse ceiling fan as there are many out there that make putting them together and installing unbelievably easy and the quality of their fasteners are high-quality

Good looking Fan
The fan was easy to install. The light kit is a little awkward, use two hands and maybe an extra if available. The fan preforms well and it looks great. Good warranty 2 years + life time motor. I am including an image from the box to clear up the cfm values that were stated differently in 2 places. Be sure to use the best down rod size for your location. This helps to get the most from a fan. Overall this seems like a pretty good value...……..Time will tell. (Westinghouse 78000 52" Brentford)

Looks nice. Difficult to put together. Bring a friend and pack a lunch.
We purchased two of these and I spent most of a day installing them. There is a central shaft that connects the fan motor to the ball joint the fan hangs from. The shaft is secured to the motor by a pin. However the wiring from the fan to your home's wiring is directly in the path of the pin so you have to align the holes for the pin, insert the pin from one side, and fish the wires out of the way from the other. Easy if you have three hands. To attach the fan blades you have to hold the fan blade, align the holes, and drive the screws from underneath. Remember its hanging from a ball joint so it moves -three hands. Final assembly is attaching three parts, a glass globe , a cage, and the plate that holds both to the fan. You have to fish the chains that control the fan through holes cut in the globe, hold the globe in place, then but up the cage and hold it, then finally fish the control chains chain through the plate and secure it. Again- it take at least three hands.

Beautiful and functional
I love this fan. It is so beautiful. We dropped it down (our ceilings are about 15 ft high) and it does an amazing job. My husband installed it and said it was very easy to put together and only used the pictures shown to assemble it. I love the lighting. I personally do not like very bright rooms at night... maybe you could have brighter light with switching it to a brighter bulb? But, it works wonderful lighting our living room at night.
