Quiet Excellence
This ceiling fan with light works great. It operates silently, too, with no wobble. There are four speeds, and this fan is reversible for summer and winter. Also, the light looks good, and it can be dimmed. Your existing wiring going from the light fixture to the light switch requires four wires -- black, white, blue and green. It's the blue wire you may not have and without that you can't use a smart fan dimmer switch that allows you to operated the light and the fan independently. Remember this fan doesn't come with a remote, so your next project is to install a fourth wire (if you're one of those unlucky ones whose house doesn't have one). I'm assuming you want to be able to run the fan and change the speeds and also dim the light from fully on, dimming down to off. So installing that fourth wire is a doozey of a job. Most people would call an electircian and it will cost you 3 to 4 hours of their time. Then you'll have to repair you wall, and paint it afterwards -- not impossible. You could do all this yourself like I did. After buying a Lutron smart switch, I had to run a new wire from where that mounts on the wall up to the attic and then across the joists that hold the ceiling up to the point where the fan is installed. I used 14 ga. Romex so the wire was super insulated, but only used one of the three wires (black because it doesn't have to be the color blue) and in the box I painted this new wire blue. You'll need to cut into the wall where the fire break is so you can gouge it out enough to run Romex past it on your way up. You'll also need a tool to fish your wire up the wall, but then the rest is easy. If you're still reading, my point is this all is doable by motivated DIYers who don't want to give the electrician $600. Nevertheless, I still had to spend money on a wire fishing tool ($28), gallon of paint ($60), Lutron Fan Dimmer Switch ($60) and the 16' of Romex I already had, and fixing the small hole in the wall to fish the "blue" wire up to the attic was free for me because I already had Bondo. If you want to do this and need help, remember YouTube is your friend

Looks Lovely; Works Well So Far
Beautiful fan. The center column was bent a little which made it very difficult to get the glass globe to hang level. I’m hoping we got the column straightened out properly with no complications down the road (too much trouble to uninstall, send back as defective, wait for shipment, & re-install!). Also, the fan chain with plaster protector was bent out of shape. Packing should have been done more carefully.

Quiet Fan, Bright Lights; Easy Wiring; Microscopic Screws
We replaced an existing, 13 year old Monte Carlo fan. The wiring and bracing were already in place (this box does not include a ceiling wire box or brace). The wiring was straight forward and directions easy to understand. Match color to color per the directions and you should be good. We have a wall switch and we'll use the pull chains. I used the "wall switch" wiring directions. I ran into a small problem at first, where only either the fan or the lights would work, but not both at the same time. It was like, at the wall, turning off the lights also turned on the fan; and turning off the fan turned on the lights. I fixed this very easily just by switching one wire an the wall switch. The included bulbs are 800 lumens each, pretty bright. It looks like a small space up there for bulbs, you need the regular base sized bulbs, and I'm not sure what other bulb would fit easily. I definitely recommend connecting ALL the wiring and just minimally securing everything to the ceiling, then turning on the power to verify the lights work and the fan motor spins BEFORE finalizing the installation. There are a few very very teeny tiny itsy bitsy screws you need to mess with way up 1mm from the ceiling in order to attach the decorative cover for the ceiling assembly and motor. I recommend placing a light colored painting mat on the floor under the fan while you work so you can easily find what you will inevitably drop. I didn't at first, and had to clean a vacuum cleaner then use that to find the dropped screws and locknuts.

Exactly what I wanted -
Finding this wasn't easy because the new AIRPLANE style has taken over - and we just wanted a ceiling fan/light that was more casual. This is it. Very attractive. NOTE: Be sure to order the remote, it is not included.

Love how beautiful and quiet this fan is
After having to replace our 1990s fan due to an inability to replace the balancing part anymore that made that former fan shake so badly I thought it was going to fall off and slice off my head or something in bed! I decided I was willing to pay a little bit more to have one that matched the metal decor of our dark brass canopy bed and match our classical old world style. The price is about twice as much as the one I was looking at from Menards, but it had the lamp style I wanted and the metal colors and it has the close to the ceiling, so I really wanted the style for our master bedroom. I don't remember getting any remote for this. That would be nice since the cords that come with the unit are ridiculously short for a ceiling fan. We keep the fan on pretty much all the time anyway, so it isn't as big a deal, but it would be nice.

Wasn't wired together inside
I had a professional electrician install the ceiling fan. When it did not turn on, he had to take it down and find the problem. The lights were not wired to the unit inside. Fortunately, he was able to fix it but someone else might not. Don't waste your money. Cheaper is not better. It will cost you on the back end.

Easy instructions, worth the money
Absolutely stunning ceiling fan. I am a RN by trade and am delighted that I was able to install by myself. It has nice bright led lights (my curtains aren't on yet and my room is super sunny, so it's hard to tell from the picture how well it lights up) matches my oak trim nicely when using the light side of the blades. I noticed a fair share of people complained that it is noisy. It is not completely silent, but it is plenty quite for my bedroom. I also have a nice magnetic Phillips screwdriver and would highly recommend using one to install the blades. It would be very difficult to install the blades without them as there's not much room to get your fingers in to start the screws. It does have a fan and light bob, but makes zero sense on how to put them on. LOL. I just added the extra chain included and called it a day.

Very attractive fan
The fan looks very nice in our master bedroom, runs quietly and gives off the perfect amount of light. We definitely love how attractive it is, but have found that the chain that controls the fan speed is a little annoying to pull, probably because of its location running through the light fixture so it does not pull as easily as the chain for the light. Other than that, it functions perfectly and we do not regret purchasing it.
