Replacement for the Jinyou part #E70469

This probably is the only replacement found online for the Jinyou part #E70469. The reviews by Fred Y and D. Register are very helpful. I definitely trust those reviews. Unfortunately it didn't work out well for me: the 3-speed that I used to have is now reduced to just one-speed. My guess is something did happen to the capacitor once I removed it to attach to the Westinghouse #77075, since it controls the varied speeds of the fan. Do I have to recharge the capacitor in order to have enough power to run 3 speeds? One thing I'm sure it's not broken since it's providing one-speed operation. If Fred Y or D. Register happen to read this, please provide more details to help people facing the same problem like me. I greatly appreciate your help.

watch out for different configuration

Looks very similar to the one I needed to replace, in fact I couldn't find any that were closer. But internally this switch works quite differently from the old. Yes, this switch also has its terminals arranged differently around the housing, but the wiring difference goes beyond that. Luckily this one is double pole, where the old one was single pole, so some smart wiring made it workable. A DIAGRAM OR TABLE OF HOW THIS THING WORKS WOULD HAVE BEEN HELPFUL. Here's how it's wired, hope it's clear enough: position I: L and 1 are connected position II: 1 and 2 are connected position III: 2 and 3 are connected position IV: 3 and L are connected Note there are two "layers" i.e. poles, that are never interconnected but always in the same position. Also the spring loaded connections inside do not feel very secure. Nevertheless, the fan is now working with this switch.

It worked but not new

The item was in a seal package but the actual was used with some scratches .

Doesn't work like original, but...

It didn't work for me like the original. I bought it to replace an original Well Tec E118997 (3-way switch) that I pulled the pull-string out of and couldn't fix on a Hunter 21402. When this one arrived it had 8 slots for 4 wire placements (2 slots for L, 2 slots for 1, etc...). When i put the wires into the same slots as the original i had 3 speeds (OFF, LOW, and HIGH). To remedy I ended up installing a remote receiver into the canopy which required that I leave the fan (pull switch) on HIGH anyway so all worked out. I got the remote/receiver from Lowes on clearance ($20) so the total was about $26 to fix this fan that Hunter said I would have to replace. Also, its remote so no worry about breaking the string again and having to replace switch.

Good replacement switch!

Works well but, the connectors are very fragile. You must use tinned wires and carefully push and seat the wires fully to prevent them from falling out of the connector . Once I got all the wires seated the unit works well, 3 speed and off, I needed 5 wires and this unit was the only one that I could find that works on my 30 year old fan.

Perfect replacement for the original E-70469 Ceiling Fan Switch

I went crazy looking everywhere for a replacement 3 Speed switch for our 31 Year Old Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan. Purchased the fan from HD and could not find a switch at my local HD store to replace it. Eventually through some research online I found this Westinghouse #77075 3speed switch and it looked just like the original Part# E70469 not available anymore from the manufacturer Jinyou. Checked to see if Amazon had it in stock and sure enough they did so I ordered it and got it a couple of hours ago today. The Switch worked perfectly. This switch is capable of taking in 8 wires same as my original. My fan uses 6 wires going into the original switch. Put those 6 wires into this switch in the same manner and it works perfectly.
